They have been soaking up the sun in Lake Como as George starts work on his new TV series Catch 22.
And the 57-year-old actor whisked Amal off for a cosy dinner date at Villa d'Este on Saturday night.
The Human Rights lawyer, 40, looked the epitome of sophistication, dressing for the occasion in a strapless chiffon gown.

The Hulu hosted series is based on the story of artful dodger Yossarian - a U.S. Air Force bombardier in World War II who is livid at the fact that thousands are trying to kill him, however, the real problem happens to be his own army.
On July 10, a source told MailOnline that George was on his way to the set of Catch 22 when a man in his sixties hit Clooney's scooter with his Mercedes.

George, who was wearing a helmet, reportedly hit his head on the windshield, which shattered on impact.
Clooney was then taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors treated him for injuries to the pelvis, hip, and knees.
'George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at home and will be fine,' a PR rep told PEOPLE.

Clooney's wife Amal was by his side at the hospital.
'The accident happened in a very tourist area, so at that time there was not much traffic,' MailOnline's source said.

If you factor in how much time the professional hair, make up and styling takes and then the dinners - which are called dates but usually involve a posse of other people you can make to assumptions (1) they don't like staying home with the babies (2) they don't like going out by themselves.

Yep, George has always loved taking friends who are staying in one of his houses to Villa d'Este or Il Gatto Nero for dinner - most of the time by boat. He is a creature of habit.

But when he and Amal go out to dinner (mostly anywhere including here) they tend to drive themselves. Not that that's necessarily publicised.

It's Me - it's not as though their guests all live in the same house! There are several.

And last year I definitely remember her cousin who's very big in McCann worldwide and used to work in NYC, had dinner with them in Como - there are lots of interconnection in their worlds. He was the guy George took a yacht trip with near Dubai before he and Amal were engaged......the same guy who Amal confided in when she first started seeing George

And as for connections, I wouldn't be surprised to see George and Amal at Princess Eugenie's wedding - not just becos of the Casamigos connection -but Eugenie and Amal know each other from New York and a variety of humanitarian conferences including International Women's Day in NYC in May this year

It's Me - If he wants to avoid her family he can always use work as an excuse. I know he's supposed to be the gold standard for a great host, but even an extrovert social butterfly needs some down time - no matter how much you love your friends and family. Maybe when it's her family hanging around he lets her do all the planning and entertaining. It's not as if she has to do much more than give directions to their staff.

Just a thought. I'm sure it's not easy for him to see his friends as often as he'd like. Besides, they're all getting older and have families and other responsibilities that make it harder for them to all get together and hang out like they did when they were young and single. Thus the motorcycle trips and the summer invites to Laglio. (Although I'm not so sure Amal will allow another motorcycle trip after his accident.)

Still, with two little ones in the house and family and friends needing to be hosted I'm sure there are days he wishes he could just lock the door and go back to sleep. (Remember what they say about guests and fish! Very Happy

)

George and Amal seem to both be pretty gregarious - socialable and outgoing. They both seem to have close family ties. George has always had so many friends and family visiting over the years in Como. George has always been loyal to his friends too. So if we haven’t seen Ben this summer there is probably a very good reason.

It's Me - I agree. But I can't see the Hotel Clooney closing its doors any time soon. I don't know if George needs a lot of people around him all the time, if he's just gotten used to it what with staff and security and all, or if he just feels that after all this time playing host it's expected of him. Now that he's got Amal's family and friends thrown into the mix, I don't see things changing. I suppose he's used to being the concierge in his own home.

To assume Amal can make George do anything is ridiculous he is a grown man and i'm sure he would not like being told what to do.
I am sure Amal mlakes sure he is taking care of himself and getting as much rest as possible. This is the life style
he wants and they share.
None of us are with him 24 7 and we do not know exactly where or what he is doing. Too assume you know what his life is like every day is wrong. He loves having friends and family around both of theirs, that is why he bought the homes they have so they can have people around. Amal has said they don't go out that often because it gets crazy when they do because of the paps.

Annemaarie - I don't want to start a fight, but please take your own advice. Your whole post is an assumption. Unless you have some close connection to G&A we don't know about, you know as much about their lives as the rest of us. We all speculate and use words like "maybe" or "possibly". You state your opinions as if they are facts. You don't know that he "loves" having people around all the time. You don't know why he bought his houses. You speculate from what you read and see in the media, just like the rest of us do.

Can I just clarify a few things here?

Villa l'Oleandra sits at one end of a wooded estate on the lake - the other house nearby is for staff. At the other end of the wood there are two other houses where friends stay and beyond that another building.

This is the guy who has been known to have dinner parties til 3 a m, persuades 80+ year olds to jump in the lake and thinks nothing of serving endless limoncello.

I suspect the weekend choices are made based on whether they're both working all week, who's there, and what they'd all like to do.......

He's unbelievably active (including a couple of hours per day spent on charities - his words) and we also know from others that his wife takes care of him and all his friends very well (Ellen Burstyn)

Nobody sleeps on the sofa!

And I think if he needed to change his lifestyle in any way he would. He's a very powerful man

I said none of us know what he does or doesn't do nor do we know how much time he spends taking it easy.

That is a fact we simply do not know.

He had an accident he wasn't seriously injured according to his spokes person. He is doing and living the way he always has
even before Amal came a long. He entertains every summer ,

I agree with Pan if he needed to change his lifestyle he would.

It's Me, the 'factory' is actually Smokehouse's editing studio - you can see the plant covered walkway George has from the house to there.

The great thing about all of this is that everybody respects his privacy.......apart of course for the odd pap in the lake in his underpants in the lake or up a tree. Clearly they pay a huge price in fines given the Mayor's warnings - and risk being sued from here to eternity

Does anyone know if he and Rande are still building new houses in Cabo? If they're still on, he's racking up quite a long list of properties: Studio City, Sonning, NY, Como, Augusta and maybe Cabo? Lots of upkeep and property taxes, even if he is rich.
