Wife of Clooney's Producing Partner Goes to Cops Over Death Threats

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]George Clooney's producing partner, Grant Heslov, had a family cyber scare last week that ended with his wife going to cops over threats made to her life ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us Lysa Heslov filed a police report after social media trolls made threatening comments to her over her politics. It's unclear what exactly they were discussing, but one guy commented on her FB page ... "She needs punched in the mouth ... *a bullet to the head. FIXED." She noted in the post that she took it as a threat.
Other people on what appears to be her Instagram message feed left vulgar comments, one of which encouraged Lysa to kill herself.

Lysa has since made her social media accounts private -- except for Twitter -- and we're told the LAPD is investigating. 
Her hubby, Grant, has produced a number of films with Clooney over the years like "Good Night, and Good Luck," "The Men Who Stare at Goats" and "The Ides of March." He also won an Oscar in 2013 for producing Best Picture winner, "Argo."

Mm, and I suspect we will never know how far people will go to vis-a-vis  more public figures and which we are never told about  - George and Amal included.

I suspect that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Social media definitely has its down sides!

I see that Facebook have now threatened the Press too - and tried to suppress what they've done - again......

You have a lot of stupid people on social media. Amal did the right thing in getting off of social media.

I don't think there's a celebrity or public figure who hasn't gotten threats. It's always been a part of being famous. It's gotten worse since the internet allows so much exposure - and much worse since the idiot in the White House gave his blessing for all the bottom feeders to rise to the top.

George said a long time ago that any celebrity using social media is asking for trouble.

I agree.  There's a lot of weird people out there and also nasty people.  

I'm really surprised that anyone targeted Lysa though. She's so far from being any sort of public figure.

And she's just made a documentary film called 'Served Like A Girl' (way in advance of #metoo) about the treatment of girls and women when they come out of the US armed services......

That’s really a shame but I’m not surprised by the threatening comments.   I’ve read some of her comments and while I totally agree with Lysa’s total distain and contempt for Trump her messaging is a magnet for Trump trolls. There seems to be a lot of people who have become verbally unhinged thanks to the license Twitter has given them.

When I read comments on German newssites, there are people who seem to comment 24/7, seem to have an opinion about everything, often call others stupid, have different sources as everybody else, suggest that 'everybody thinks like me' etc.
I just read a report about influencing the German elections in September, saying that nearly all of the very critical comments came from about 1% of those who comment, and there are very serious suspicions that they are from Russia. Combining it with the accusations vs Russia on the presidential elections in the States and the Brexit referendum, this tells you quite a lot.
It's a war on another level...

About Lysa Heslov receiving death threats. I think that this is really frightening, many people don't seem to have a moral inhibition threshold anymore. They are angry, don't accept facts, just read websites which confirm their own point of view (which might take them to think 'Everybody thinks like me'. Head of schools complain that students who fight each other, don't seem to know when to stop. There were always kids fighting, but when I was at school, it stopped when one of them was on the floor. Now this one is kicked heavily, and nobody seems to stop them. I can't tell you why. Is it because they see certain videos and play certain games? I sometimes ads for applications on my mobile phone which I see as disgusting and would never play them. But when I watch a James Bond movie, I also know that a bullet is fatal in real life and nobody could survive Bond's injuries. So I should know that a game where I kick people in their face or jump on their heads, ends differently in real life either.

Combining this brutality with lack of empathy is something really frightening IMO. And the internet gives them the opportunity to say what they think without having to fear consequences. I've said it before: My grandparents owned a pub, so I spent a lot of time there as a kid. There always was cracker-barrel philosophy of drunken guests, and if you had taken them all seriously, the world had come to an end already. Now you've got the internet where people with similar opinions meet and share their thoughts. And thanks to facebook and its algorithms, they feel confirmed in their opinions.
