Thanks for that PAN. Have to say I’m disappointed George won’t be talking about his thoughts on the critical opinions of ‘Suburbicon’. I’m guessing this interview took place after the wide release of his movie.
I think it’s just as well that Trump doesn’t come up. The audience should know by now where these two stand on him. What’s left to say?

I liked the interview, it is wonderful that they all decided to help that young man. Nick and Nina raised George well
and he has not changed. The house with the water views is gorgeous what a lovely place to relax.

It's Me and Ladybug: Play nice, ladies!
I just watched the show and really enjoyed seeing George so relaxed. His interviews with Letterman are always fun to watch. They have a lot in common and it makes for easy conversation. I wonder why George hasn't invited Dave to Como yet. Dave mentions it every time they do an interview. George should put him out of his misery!
The young Yazidi refugee they've sponsored seems to have settled in well. Nice house they gave him! He seems to have a great relationship with Nick and Nina, too. Glad to see Ada participated. I wonder if her kids are at all interested in being more a part of Uncle George's world.
All told an easygoing pleasant interview.

Re: George and Letterman
I've signed Netflix for one month to be able to watch this interview and really liked it. I hadn't expected a discussion on why his last movies didn't succeed or about US politics so I wasn't disappointed in what I saw.
I especially liked the parts where George tried to change roles and asked Letterman. And I assume that Letterman wanted to put the focus on George's humanitarian efforts and his private life. The young Yazidi was very impressive, and I like the fact that the whole Clooney clan seems to have teamed up to help him and that Nick and later George didn't want to leave him alone when he moved in so they joined him. The house at the river reminds me of something, it's a deja vu. I think I saw a pic of it before on COH. Is it possible that someone thought it might be George's house?

Re: George and Letterman
Carolhathaway - I think there is something about the house somewhere on COH. I remember something about him having a house along the river - not sure if he bought it or if it was in the family. It has to be way back before Amal, when people were wondering where he stayed when he came to town - and if he brought his girlfriends to stay at Nick and Nina's house.

I think the house belongs to Nick and Nina, I remember reading when Aida got married they had the reception there by the river. The same with Rosemary's reception it was there as well.

George asked Litterman : if you were able to have more kids , would you? & David answered by: for sure.
I don't know why George asked this kind of question? Has he changed his opinion about having more kids?!

Lilia - I think George asked him that because they're so close in age and both spent most of their lives building their careers. They both had their children late in life. I think now George wishes - as does Letterman - that he had started a family earlier, but I don't think he expects to have more kids. If he does, he's out of luck. Amal says she's done!

I'm glad to know George Clooney's wife Amal is on record talking about her children. There are so many pictures of Amal pregnant, she will have many stories to tell her children when they get older. Standing before the United Nations pregnant is an honor not many can speak of. I'm sure they will be proud of her.annemarie wrote:She said she waited late to have them so she won't be having anymore. Re: George and Letterman
I’m sure Ella and Alexander will be very proud of both their parents. They are both great humanitarians.
The Hollywood Reporter did have quotes from Amal about the children. Her comment when asked by the reporter what had surprised her the most in their four years together was what a great dad George is especially stood out to me.
Just watched the interview. Very enjoyable conversation between the two of them. It felt intimate ... like they were casually sitting together at dinner and chatting. I especially liked George reminiscing about growing up in Kentucky. It is wonderful that the Clooney family is supporting this young Yazidi man here in the states. It was so generous of them to lend their other home to this young man while he pursues his studies.
I just wished they could have had another hour!

Re: George and Letterman
Donna we have many interviews where George Clooney have talked about the twins. I have no doubt George Clooney is an exceptional parent.
To my knowledge the Hollywood Reporter is the only time his wife Amal has talked about being pregnant, giving birth, and/or life as mom of twins. It's really nice to hear her take on life as a mom and very endearing to hear her speak about George.
Donna I'm looking forward to the twins reveal. To finally see George and Amal Clooney with their children is going to a heartwarming experience. I'm sure as life moves on, there will be a lifetime of blessings.

I think we came to the conclusion here that they broke up earlier and didn't announce it for a while.
So he may have been corresponding with Amal. I never understood the people picking a wife thing, George didn't need a wife so it really made no
sense to me .

Not searching for a wife (if true)
And finding someone you like
Are two different thing
Anyway he was always searching for a companion
No?

It's me your right , I think he found someone he liked , loved and his companion and partner in Amal. He found the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. I think of Nick telling him it would happen and you know George was probably like nope never gonna happen. Dad was right all along.
George may have thought he would never marry again but fate had other plans for him.

Re: George and Letterman
My recollection was that George and Stacy called it quits before he went to Como that summer.
It still seems that George knew pretty quickly that Amal was the one. Different than all the rest. George did mention to Dave that he had some sweet relationships in his life. But I guess George sensed that ‘alchemy’ with Amal that he never felt before.

Re: George and Letterman
I'm sure when you make the decision to tie the knot with someone, you put together all the elements you want to experience throughout your relationship. One of the most endearing things I've seen Amal do is lay her head on George Clooney's shoulder, it's been a reoccurring theme throughout their relationship.Donnamarie wrote:It still seems that George knew pretty quickly that Amal was the one. The Golden Globes speech: "Alchemy..." are words that can only be connected to the heart of George Clooney. Honestly one, if not the most heartfelt words spoken about the love of his life; just beautiful. Amal had to feel extra special.
I remember the speech well, I was able to watch from a secure undisclosed location.

I'm thinking that it was while filming/wrapping 'Monuments Men,' long before summer, when he was in Italy and his parents were there for Nick's scene. I think I remember Stacy making a trip over during late winter or early spring, but I don't think they were in Italy then.
Doesn't matter. Everybody got what they wanted.

“Different from all the rest”......All the rest in each of their ways, small or otherwise, made him into the man he is .... who knows what he would be with any person missing from the jigsaw of his past.....
I do wish someone - George, family or friend, would find it in there heart to say one good, kind word about the girls who held the hand but not heart.... they did so with dignity style and grace. And received only curt innuendo regarding their very existence... as if they were of no matter.... as I said, they made part of him, funny to think it may be the part Amal fell for....”The Rest” must be an uncomfortable club to belong to, they probably rejoice to their family and friends when talk turns to George, and his happy marriage and children,as it surely must. They are team George only to be labelled the rest or the others....and ultimately not nearly good enough....
