Monty Hall , the host of Let's Make A Deal has died he was 96.

I'm watching the CNN news coverage of the EVIL 
shootings in Las Vegas.

I hope that all our friends on here are safe and all of your family and friends are safe.

It's just a terrible terrible event and I feel for everyone
who were caught up in it.   

so far 58 dead,  515 injured    .

Rock legend Tom Petty had died he was 66.

The report of Tom Petty's  death was wrong  he is clinging to life.CBS news wrongly reported he had died.

I had not heard this annemarie.  I just checked and I read that he went into cardiac arrest at his home and is on life support at UCLA hospital.  I think today's mass murders must have clouded this news.

Tom Petty Passed away last night.

That's horrible! And it can happen everywhere at any time. And is very effective because cars and trucks are easy to get and pedestrians are easy targets...

Today, 500 years ago, a monk in an area which is now part of Germany, wanted to critisize the Roman Catholic church. He wrote down 95 theses and published them. Due to the printing press, his theses were spread all over Europe quickly and led to a crisis of the church and the Great Schism. This monk later translated the bible into German, set the fundament for our language and grammar. And since in the aftermath, children were forced to go to school to learn to read, write and calculate, they were also able to read the bible themselves and didn't need priests to tell them about that. He married a nun and had six children.

During the 16th and 17th century, we had wars to find out which church is the real one. Now we've got both of them, with about the same number of church members (and also jews, moslems etc). There were popes who tried to celebrate the ecumenical Christianity and others who didn't accept the Lutheran church. Lutherans are still not allowed to join the Communion in catholic churches.

And by the way: An African American priest was so impressed by this monk that he named his son after him. The son's name was Martin Luther King...
