They are currently enjoying a break away in Lake Como, Italy, with their baby twins.
And George, 56, and Amal Clooney, 39, looked rather loved-up as they stepped out holding hands with producer Ben Weiss and his wife at Villa d'Este Cernobbio.

Their trip to Italy, where George has owned a home in Lake Como for several years, comes as it's been reported that the family may be moving out of their stunning £20 million property in Sonning-On-Thames, Berkshire.
Following the June 6 birth of Elle and Alexander, the star has been increasingly worried about the level of security in their homes, according to Life&Style.
A source told the publication that George had received threats in the past, whilst he was concerned that his wife's work as an international human rights lawyer could make her a target.
'He doesn’t feel like Amal and the twins are safe living in the English countryside,' the insider explained.

They have reportedly spent an additional £12.5 million on the sprawling estate, including building a nanny's quarters.

Nah, I think these are photos from the same week as their first outing with friends, including Ben and his wife. Unless Ben and his wife hung around and waited for the man to return from his LA trip. Doubt it.

I think it's possible he went did whatever needed to be done and got back to Italy. We haven't seen any pictures of him out in Los Angeles.
Ben and his wife seem to spend weeks out there with them. They are all friends no reason to leave because he made a quick trip back to the U.S.
Then again the fail seems to post pictures after the event, with George anything is possible.

Lovely. George's hair looks a bit shorter.
Despite the Gossip Cop denial the DF keeps claiming that George and Amal are moving back to the U.S. Any media outlet that has covered George for any length of time knows very well that George has been going to Villa d'Este for years. I would assume everyone who works there at the restaurant knows him.

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
Donna,
that's really driving me mad!
They have absolutely no proove that they will move to the States, Stan denied this rumour, but whenever I google George's name or check it on Instagram, there are medias which cover that story. Or the one that George has sold his Italian villa due to 'refugees flooding the area', showing pics of them leaving the plane with the babies in Milan or going out in Italy. What do these idiots f*ing think? That they fly in just for a dinner and then return to the States? My suggestion is that they don't know that Milan is in Italy, but thar's just a suggestion...

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
To say the least the DF is really sloppy in their reporting. But a lot of right wing outlets picked up this false story. The message they convey to their readers is that the liberal elitist Hollywood star is a hypocrite. Drives me crazy too Carol. I think unfortunately the damage has been done. Like Annemarie said the DF doesn't care. It's a headline grabber. I can only imagine what readers are saying in the pitiful "comments" section. Seems readers love to trash Hollywood -rightly or wrongly - any chance they can get.

Donnamarie - Many people, for many reasons, don't live the lives they want to live so it's easy for them to be envious of those who have succeeded. And it's easy for some segments of the media to feed them lies that prop up their prejudices in order to get a greater audience.
I wonder if so many outlets repeat these stories because they can just pick them up from the internet instead of having to send out their own staff to find stories. Much easier this way - and cheaper.

Yep Lizzy ... envy, resentment and jealousy do play a part in some people's attitude towards privileged people and especially celebrities. Social media has really fed those prejudices.
Many media outlets that we come across that carry stories of George seem to repeat the same story put out by one source, whether the source is substantiated or not. It's been an eye opener for me since I've been following him on the internet. I agree it's much cheaper for these newsy sites to just repeat a story rather than research and report. I guess they don't feel responsible enough to care if the story is true or not.

Inside George and Amal Clooney's Italian Date Night as New Parents

With the kids away, mom and dad will play!
Just because they're new parents doesn't mean George Clooneyand Amal Clooneycan't head out on the town. More than one month after welcoming their twins, the Oscar winner and his barrister leading lady stepped out for dinner in Lake Como, one of Clooney's longtime favorite getaway spots.
Mr. and Mrs. Clooney arrived at luxury hotel Villa d'Este Cernobbio late Tuesday night, where they dined for about an hour and a half with another couple. While the meal was not too long, a source told E! News the weather was "perfect" and the night was overall "lovely." They were greeted warmly by the staff and George returned the favor by being equally gracious and shaking hands with everyone. The star kept his date night outfit laid-back in a pair of jeans and button-down shirt.
As for his wife, we're told George was very affectionate and protective of Amal, holding her hand through the restaurant and stroking her back throughout the meal. The new mama looked radiant in a yellow shift dress and matching heels.

While the couple dined, we can rest assured twins Ella and Alexander were in good hands. According to second source, Amal's mother, Baria Alamuddin, does not live with the pair, but does spend long periods of time visiting and helping with the newborns. Additionally, as the insider said, they use a baby nurse who helps around the clock.
"They are very hands-on parents, but they also have some help," the source explained. "They also value their adult time and want to make sure that they are able to slip away for adult dinners and other things that they enjoy. With the help of their baby nurse, they are able to do that frequently."
In fact, a week earlier, they enjoyedanother dinner together out in Lake Como while continuing their summer in the northern Italian town. As another source told E! News, "Amal is not working, and they both have the summer off and are enjoying Lake Como...they are very happy to be in Italy."
After all, mom and dad need their alone time, too!

I see the goatee. George obviously likes the look. I guess Amal does too. He's had it for quite a while now .... shaving it off temporarily but then it comes back
I'm not a fan of goatees so I wish it was gone.

PAN - I don't think Alisonfan meant that the other set of pictures was taken on the same night. I think she meant she heard they went to Il Gatto Nero for drinks after dinner at the hotel. At least I think that's what she meant.

They're wearing different clothes, so this isn't the same night as the gatto nero dinner last week. I think maybe Alisonfan means they went for drinks afterwards?

And People's take on the dinner:
http://people.com/babies/amal-george-clooney-dinner-friends-lake-como-italy/New Parents’ Night Out! Amal and George Clooney Dine with Pals in Italy a Month After Twins’ BirthBY STEPHANIE PETITPOSTED ON JULY 19, 2017[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
MEGA
Mom and Dad are still up for date night.
George and Amal Clooney, who welcomed twins Ella and Alexander in June, stepped out for dinner at Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy, on Tuesday. They were joined by producer Ben Weiss, a pal of the actor, and his date for the romantic night out.
Amal looked fabulous in a thigh-length sleeveless yellow dress and strappy wedge heels. Her husband dressed down in jeans and a white collared shirt.
George and Amal have often vacationed by Lake Como, where the family has a home.
Just last week, Weiss joined the couple for dinner at il Gatto Nero, one of their favorite haunts in Northern Italy, where they dined around the same time last year – just months before they announced Amal’s pregnancy.
“Everyone was so excited to see him and Amal for dinner,” an onlooker told PEOPLE. “They got many hugs and a lot of love. Amal looked gorgeous and didn’t look the slightest bit tired. She kept smiling and looked so happy.”
“You could tell they were happy about the date night,” the onlooker added. “In the past, they always dined for hours.
The actor, 56, and human rights attorney, 39, landed in Milan, Italy, earlier this month with their newborn twins in tow. The family was seen arriving via private plane, with George disembarking with a baby carrier. The occasion marked the first time the couple had been seen in public with their newborns.
The twins were born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on June 6. Alexander arrived first, at 12:54 p.m., followed by Ella at 12:56 p.m., according to birth certificates obtained by PEOPLE.
“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days,” the new parents of two said in a statement.
Following the birth of the twins, Amal’s mother, Baria Alamuddin, told PEOPLE the new parents were naturals.
“Oh my God, they were so beautiful, so happy, so contented,” she said. “You just look at them and you feel like they’ve been a mother and father for their whole lives.”

Dear George,
You are worth over 400 million dollars. For the love of everything holy, will you please buy a pair of dress pants to wear when you go out. Or at least a pair of jeans that fit!! Let Ben take you shopping..his fit.
Thank you.

Amal is so fashion conscious, why doesn't she do something about his wardrobe? She could do what he did to Matt while they were filming MM, and have his jeans taken in a little at a time until they fit. He probably won't even notice. Meanwhile, the more she dresses up, the more he slobs down! Phooey!

Lizzy-she's fashion conscious because George connected her with all the right people. Not saying this is a bad thing. But- look at pre-engagement photos (ie: NY) - her style was vey quirky. Now- it's tres expensive quirky when she goes that root. Or just plain plain E-X-PE-N-S-I-V-E.

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
Oh dear.....am I the only one then that likes
George's casual attire when out for a meal ?
I admire him for sticking to what makes him feel comfortable. Maybe there have been a few "words"
from his wife, but he's stuck to his style.
I don't like those "skinny fit" jeans that appear to
be popular.
And the reporting from the People is pathetically
reporticious.
Fancy calling Ben Weiss's wife a "date"
for the evening !
I find it quite amusing that we've seen George
seated at the same part of the terrace over the years,
with different female companions, and photographed
from the same angle.
Maybe someone can make up a collage !

PS.....PP......George hasn't got his sunglasses on ??
To state the obvious, I think he wears those to protect his eyes from sunlight or flash lights.
I think he must have "light reaction" and maybe
has been advised that the yellow colour lenses
are the best to counteract the effects on his eyes
from severe lighting situations.
So please don't have a "moan about them."

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
I think Amal loves him the way he is, you don't try to change your husband into what you want that is the fastest way to cause an argument. I'm sure she's added a few pieces to his wardrobe.
I think as long as he is comfortable and happy that is all that matters.
AMal dresses how she likes and George dresses how he likes his clothes aren't cheap by any means.
At least, she got him out of the casamigos t shirts on every outing.
I think George had laser surgery on his eyes years ago so his eyes maybe sensitive to light and the paps
camera flashes are very strong.

I'm not fussed about where George and his family live,
as long as they are safe from any "cranks" or even
"evil people" who wish them harm.
I know over the years both George and his wife
Amal have "had their heads above the parapet"
concerning some contentious issue.
I hope that no one ever tries to harm them or their
familiy in the future.
Sorry if this is off topic.

Jo, I think we all agree with you. As long as they're safe it doesn't matter where they live.
annemarie - Getting your husband to wear clothing that fits properly and maks him look good doesn't mean you're trying to change him or that he won't be comfortable. It just means he won't look like he dressed in the dark after a night on the tiles!
And expense has nothing to do with it. Half of Hollywood is wearing super expensive jeans that are more holes than fabric. If the price tag makes it ok for you, I have a bridge to sell you!

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
George is George I think he has his style like it or not and he isn't going to change not even for Amal. George seems to like his jeans large and loose that is what he seems comfortable in.
I do think that some of the newer pieces he has worn are Amals choices.
He has worn a nice pair of jeans that fit him I think it was last year.
Does anyone else remember those jeans?

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
George is old school. Even the way he dresses reflects that. He's a pretty casual dresser who doesn't seem that interested in clothes IMO. His suits and tuxedos are tailored in a traditional way too. This is who he is. I would think Amal is smart enough not to nag him too much about what he wears. If she has it doesn't seem to be working. Maybe she picks and chooses when to suggest wearing something other than his usual. I know from my own experience when to make a point about something my husband is wearing when we go out. I can't do it too much ... even though I want to!
What George may lack in his general fashion sense I think he makes up for tenfold in other ways. Just saying ......

Amal Clooney Stuns in Yellow Mini-Dress During Date With George Just 1 Month After Birth of TwinsSevens wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
by Jackie Willis 7:30 AM PDT, July 19, 2017
Just over a month after giving birth to twins, the 39-year-old lawyer joined her husband, George Clooney, for a double date with producer Ben Weiss and his wife at Villa d'Este Cernobbio in Lake Como, Italy, on Tuesday night, arriving at 9:15 p.m. and leaving at 11 p.m. Amal looked absolutely stunning in a short yellow sundress and nude wedge heels, while George wore a short-sleeved white button-down shirt, dark pants and brown shoes. The two were all smiles as they held hands and greeted the wait staff.
"As they were leaving, George shook hands with the maître of the restaurant," an eyewitness tells ET. "George was smiling and looked relaxed. From time to time at dinner, Amal would check her phone and show it to George."
This is one of the first times fans of the couple have seen Amal all dolled up since she and George welcomed their babies, son Alexander and daughter Ella, on June 6. Needless to say, the Clooneys are thrilled to have the new additions to their brood.

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
Yeah, I think George's clothes styles is, let's say 'classic' for politeness' sake. He has had a few new things in the wardrobe for which I guess we can thank Amal (and to be honest, Stacy too) but those jeans are his jeans and aren't going I guess. Damn.
As long as we don't see a repeat of the 1980s head-to-toe Nike bicycling outfit which made a debut a few years back, I guess I'll have to stick to complaining about his baggy jeans forevermore.

Katie - Looking back at the photos I'm thinking maybe it isn't that the jeans are too loose - 'tho i think they are - maybe it's that they're a little too long. They sort of bunch up at the bottom, which makes the rest of the leg wrinkle and seem baggy.
Whatever! This should be the worst problem the world has to deal with.

Re: George Clooney is back in Como
I think these are pr shots... we've all been there, we are on holiday or visiting people and we have to make excuses to answer urgent emails or make a call.....
This is no different, I get it....
"Come on Hun, we just have to do a few hours PR, then we can enjoy the holls".....it's kind of what is expected, call it Como earning its price tag... he may even be able to do some kind of tax write off using it as a PR backdrop...or to salve the sensitive part of his soul that sometimes looks in the mirror and says "is it too much, too lucky"....
Whatever, no ones complaining.... it does the trick.... keeps the work coming in (now for both).... keeps bread on the table, fans happy, paps happy....jobs a gooden.....

WWHS.......I GET YOUR DRIFT.
As I mentioned before when, dining at Villa de'Este,
George and his companions are always seated in the same spot on the terrace and photographed from the same angle. No doubt with his permission and the permission of his quests.
It's the price they have to pay for being in the
"Clooney Circle" IMO.
As you say, good PR for George and good PR
for the famous hotel
And good for his genuine fans to get the merest glimpse
of George's private life.
I'm not being cynical, just saying how I see it.
"Thanks George".

Don't think he's at D,Este for the publicity. It's a favourite, it's lovely, he's been there for years, .they treat him brilliantly and it's a ten minute ride down the lake or drive down the road. Not far away is another favourite Harry,s Bar and literally up the hill is Le Gatto Nero

So sorry but have to disagree Joanna and WWHS. I don't see it that way at all. George gets the PR whether he likes it or not. Even if George isn't as popular as he used to be the media still loves to cover him. I think George has got lots more on his plate and has for many years than to be interested in providing pics to the DF.

The media love to cover him because he is one of the biggest stars out there. We don't get that many pictures anymore when they are in Laglio the mayors ban has caused a lot of missed photo opportunities. Which I am sure George is pretty happy about he has his privacy.

I think probably George cuts a deal with the paparazzi to photograph a dinner like this so they leave him alone in the privacy of his home.
I can imagine now that he has children, the whole town must be crawling with paps trying to get the first pictures of the babies in the world. Security at his villa and the surroundings must be intense.

Mm, there's a safety and pragmatic reason for that. The lake road is so narrow that coaches are no longer allowed down there. In many places it's difficult for two cars to pass and there is now a wider road further up the mountain for most traffic.
But obviously folk take pix of the villa from the lake ferries. Can't say that I've seen the same level of paps - one year one of them waded into the lake to take shots!
