Cindy Crawford posted another Instagram...they are on the river and George is with them.   If you look carefully, there is a reflection in George's sunglasses.  It sure looks like Amal is with them on the boat.   Sorry. I don't know how to post the link....Looks like a beautiful day...

Amal Clooney is good at keeping secrets.

The 39-year-old barrister threw a surprise 56th birthday party for her husband George Clooney at their home in London Saturday, E! News has exclusively learned. Their pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber flew from L.A. to London Thursday to help Amal prepare for the celebration.

"Amal set it all up, and Rande and Cindy surprised George when he got home Saturday," a source explains. When George pulled into his driveway, Rande "came from around the bushes driving George's lawnmower and pulled up beside George's car while Cindy was nearby in the garden cutting fresh flowers." Luckily, the source tells E! News, "George was totally surprised!"

Only "close friends" were invited to celebrate with George, who launched his premium tequila company with Rande in 2013. "Amal had everyone come for dinner and to drink Casamigos. She also had this great cake made replicating the Casamigos Tequila bars from their houses in Mexico." Rande, who turned 55 on Apr. 27, later shared a photo of the cake with his Instagram followers. In the caption, George's business partner thanked Amal for providing the "cool cake."

It wasn't just a party for George, as Amal included his business partner. "Amal made it a joint birthday celebration," the source says, "since Rande's birthday was just a couple of weeks ago."

"George had the best time celebrating his birthday with his best friends, and he was genuinely surprised," the source reveals. "Rande and Cindy are proud they were able to keep the secret!"

At one point over the weekend, George took his friends boating on the River Thames. Cindy, 51, shared an Instagram photo Monday, joking, "We can always count on him for the photobomb."

Amal did not appear in any of the photos Cindy or Rande shared publicly.

The birthday surprise came as the Clooneys await the arrival of their twins. "Amal is due any day now. They're just waiting at this point," a source tells E! News exclusively. "Technically her due date is next month, but they expect the twins to come early. It's just a waiting game now."

In March, George spoke to E! News' Marc Malkin at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he gave an update on life as a dad-to-be. "Can you believe it?! Yeah, [I'm] even happier [than before]," he said. "I didn't know that we'd have kids. I was very happy that we were going to get married and then [a pregnancy] seemed like the next step." The actor-turned-director also revealed that he and Amal had not chosen names for their twins yet, saying, "I've had friends pick out names around their parents and then it becomes...Whatever name you pick they're like, 'Oh, I don't like that. That guy's a prime minister…Can't name her Susan. You remember your Aunt Susan?'"

The photobomb culprit is on the loose again!

After receiving an unexpected visit from longtime pals Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford for his birthday weekend in London, actor George Clooney couldn’t help but sneak into the couple’s sweet snapshot documenting their trip across the pond.

Clooney — a repeat photobomb offender — mugged it up in the image taken aboard a boat and shared by Crawford.

Wrote the model, “We can always count on him for the photobomb.”

“They flew to London to surprise George for his birthday over the weekend,” a source tells PEOPLE of the couple.

Clooney celebrated his 56th birthday on Saturday, and his Casamigos tequila business partner Gerber turned 55 in late April.

Part of the celebrations included a cake from Clooney’s expectant wife Amal Clooney “replicating the Casamigos tequila bar from their houses in Mexico,” the insider shares.

“Amal set it all up and made it a joint birthday celebration since Rande’s birthday was just a couple of weeks ago,” explains the source.

Gerber and Clooney posed with the confectionary creation for a photo shared to Gerber’s Instagram.


Both men emulated their cake mini-mes’ poses before cutting into the dessert.

So George got home Saturday and they flew to London Thursday? Assuming they arrived Friday, George must have been out for a while, bussiness or post-produciton work?

I checked the pic with a special program and there is definitive No Bump - and I don't think I would, if high pregnant with twins risk a speed boot ride on the river!

Maybe the twins are born and we don't know!

I have a theory. Could that be Tala on the boat? I'd be very surprised if that was Amal even if she had just given birth. Whichever way it's all very close and one article says they're expecting the twins early - that usually happens and some are delivered as early as 33 weeks. We also know she threw a party for him. Loads of friends in London for that.......Salma Hayek, Emily Blunt..........

Rande's wedding ring - never noticed. Does he wear one? A lot of men don't.

I agree I don't think amal would be on the boat at this point in her pregnancy. It could be Tala with them. Rande wears a ring sometimes.

@party animal-not I do not really want to deepen it because it basically does not matter to me and I don't like mentioning it but Tala has no overbite! If I'm not very wrong, it could be I am - then that profile is clearly Amal!
What I don't understand - folks, don't kill me ok, I'm not saying they have - but in case they are having a surrogate, where's the problem? I mean, we are in 2017

The picture looks like Amal to me.  And I don't see any way of telling whether or not she's got a bump from that angle given the distortion from the sunglasses reflection and the fact that her arm is covering her body.

I think there's really no need to start creating conspiracies here, do we?

It definitely looks like Amal in the reflection of George's sunglasses .... at least to me. I don't see why she can't take a leisurely ride on the boat ... even at possibly eight months pregnant. But beyond her face and neck I can't see the rest of her. Who else can see her figure? Just curious. It would be way too early for her to have given birth. The babies would be really small and possibly in questionable health at this point. Last time we saw pics of her she wasn't that big. I find it highly unlikely she would have already given birth and we didn't know about it.

To me, this  released story is just a sad effort to keep their names in the media.  And, it worked.... people are chatting about it.  Us mag, MSN covered it.

Just my two bits further- do you believe Amal would plan a party intended to get coverage, and then stay home?   No coincidence that her reflection captured in the sunglass lense.  Someone's publicist is working overtime getting creative.

I just don't know why she wouldn't want to be photographed in the last trimester  to flaunt the belly, which should be pretty big- look everyone, I'm carrying his babies!!  Remember how much she flaunted the ring?  This is publicity gold- guaranteed cover shots.

LYSA, GRANT AND BEN WHERE THERE TOO FOR THE BIRTHDAY

Birthday party or promotional event?  Guess it's one and the same in their world.  Will the twins wear the Casamigos onsies in their photo debut?  And does anyone think that would cheapen the moment by sliding in a commercial/ self-promotion element?

I'll just add my 2 cents. These photos are old, they were taken on George's birthday. 
Maybe they released the birthday's story yesterday to "distract" people while Amal was in the hospital ready to deliver the babies..

Either that, or PigPen is right.

And yes, I think that the first pictures of the babies will be posted on Rande's or Casamigos's account, and they will be wearing the CA onsies and George a CA cap/shirt.

I think the casamigos theme fit George and Rande that is their big thing and means a lot to them. 

I'm glad George's friends were able to join him .

These pictures are from Saturday today is Tuesday to me the pictures aren't very old at all.

It was nice that they shared we rarely get anything from George's birthdays.

Yep, that's Amal.

They're always going to release their own pix late for all sorts of privacy concerns. They're not journos with deadlines and scoops. Otherwise there would be endless paps lurking in the water under the weeping willows!

Lysa's instagram account is secret ever since somebody sussed it out at the White House when they all visited the President for the Monuments Men private screening, but her Twitter account is public. But there's nothing on there

Okay,
so there's no chance for most of us to watch it. But it's nice to know that George celebrated his birthday with his closest friends.

I think it's sensible to post pics at least one day later. I remember George's roadtrips with the boys where Rande posted the pics later as well. Can you imagine what happened if he posted: "Hey, we just found rooms at the xx hotel in yy town?" I guess they would have no chance to leave the hotel the next morning because every pap and fan within 100 miles would show up...

I i on phone today to lady who told me in November I post earlying December that Amal was pregnant. I ask has Amal Clooney had babys she giggle and laugh and say o honey!

It's not the first time that Cindy and Rande havent posted pics in real time. Not unusual at all. Lots of people delay posting pictures.

This was a birthday party for George and Rande who are the closet of friends. It is what it is. A happy occasion for George, his good friends and his wife. Rande and Cindy use Instagram on a regular basis to share moments in their life .... and they have many times posted pics of George that have nothing to do with Casamigos.

Just a small correction: this wasn't a "released story". It was a couple of instagram posts by Cindy and Rande. It keeps them in the press as much as anything and - let's be honest here - since when have they done anything that's even remotely truly newsworthy in the past decade?

Er, yes. Because the party did take place at home and we don't have any pictures of it. All we've got pictures of are the Gerbers mowing George's lawn and three of them sitting on the back of the boat. The actual party - the one that Grant, Lysa and goodness knows who else came to - wasn't covered at all so far and I suspect it never will be.

Just a thought: if someone's actions can't be understood, consider the possibility that you're trying to fit the wrong explanations to it. She could have flouted her 'baby bump' (urgh - hate that term!) but hasn't. In fact, she's gone out of her way not to be photographed. So consider the possibility that she's not interested in flaunting it. Her job doesn't depend on ephermeral fame from covers on US weekly - George's does.

nothing strange, cindy and lysa are seated and have a glass of tequila and ben weiss is with them posing for the photo.

I wonder if the other guests left when Cindy and Rande did. If they did, I wonder if they all traveled back to LA together. It just struck me as weird that Cindy and Rande always get media coverage whenever they see George, but Grant and the other "Boys" rarely do.

Nobody actually knows Grant. 
Some of my friends always think he is Joel Coen instead. LOL.

Sevens - That's kind of my point. The media knows Grant (besides being George's writing and producing partner, he was an actor) and some of the others. If they covered them the way they cover Rande and Cindy more people would know them. I'm sure they're not complaining, because they get to maintain their privacy, but it does seem a little strange to me.

It does seem like Grant likes being in the background.    Even when he and George do PR for their films George pretty much takes the lead and Grant always seems content to hold back.  Outside of movie writing/production circles Grant isn't as notable to the general public than even Cindy and Rande.  He really seems like a behind the scenes kind of guy. I think you're right Lizzy that Grant likes it that way...

I think that's Grant and Lysa's choice.  They do the red carpets and Grant does do some of the interviews, but I think they've seen the craziness of George's life and decided they're happy without the massive fame.

I agree Grant likes to be in the background, didn't he say before he moved that people or the paps were at their home.

The point I was trying to make is that the story was released ( see Steven post this thread May 8th).  This includes a photo of George and Rande posing with the cake.  The instagrams were just icing on the cake ( yes, pun intended). Also covered by at least E! 

Now that we've , I do have a quick question....since when have they done anything that's even remotely truly newsworthy in the past decade.... who are you referring to?
