I wish I could take away some of the snow our Northeast friends are getting this morning. Looks like you're getting slammed. Barely got a flake where I live. And we haven't had our first decent snow this winter. I want one good one!

Lizzy we got the blast of cold. Just not the snow. It was 70 here yesterday and I was walking around in shirtsleeves. Today in the 20s with a windchill. But I would gladly take your snow. Oh well. Be careful!

Understand Boston got upwards of 18"? PigPen needs to check in with us.

I saw some of it Lizzy. I caught a bit of Beyoncé's performance. Nothing against her. She is a very talented artist but like with some of the other performances they just seem over the top. Too many gimmicks. I did enjoy Adele's performance and the tribute to Prince.

To be honest I didn't intend to watch, but there was nothing else on so I left it on as background noise while I did other things. I did stop to watch a couple of performances and Beyonce was one of them. For all the hype she's getting today, I have to say I was seriously underwhelmed.

Bruno Mars' tribute to Prince was awesome and the rappers who called out "President Agent Orange" were right on target (sorry, I don't know who they were - I don't listen to rap - although maybe now I will Smile

) I'm really surprised nobody's talking about them today.

Firstly, the person who gave Warren Beatty the envelope screwed up. But Beatty should have known better after seeing that he had the wrong card to say something isn't right here. I have the wrong card. This card isn't the "best picture" card. But he didn't. He seem confused and Dunaway didn't seem to get it either. Oh well. Both the La La Land and Moonlight groups handled the situation with a lot of class.

they absolutely handled this weird situaton with class. To be called for'Best Picture' - the top category - go onstage with your whole cast and crew, accept the award by giving speeches - and suddenly be told that they made a mistake and another movie had won - just unbelievable!

About Beatty and Dunaway: I don't mean it in a mean way, but to me it looked as if they were quite confused, maybe weren't sure what was going in. But they are veterans, and if they can't say: "'I'm a bit confused, this is a the wrong card!" , who can? I guess they were backstage when Emma Stone won, but they know how these cards look like...

Well, wouldn't you know I'd miss the most exciting part of the night! I heard them announce La La Land and tuned to another channel. Maybe they should let them all keep the Oscars as a "Thank you" for grace under pressure in a humiliating situation.

Warren read it know it was wrong thought it was strange and handed the envelopes to Faye.

So he read it , and didn't say a thing what the heck. He would have saved a whole lot of people

embarrassment if he had opened his mouth and said something.

Lizzy Jimmy Kimmel said the same thing last night during the chaos on stage. He shouted out why can't both films keep the Oscars. Well at the very least this kerfuffle has given both films a special place in Oscar history.

Have to say this year's show couldn't have been more differentfrom last year's. The number of movies and actors nominated this year covered a spectrum of diversity. Seven of the 20 acting nominees were people of color. Mahershala Ali was the first Muslim actor to win an award. I didn't see all the films nominated but the ones I did see were all brilliant in their own right.
Wonderful storytelling and acting.

Annemarie, it is puzzling why Beatty didn't speak up. He just looked really confused. Maybe old age is creeping in and he wasn't thinking clearly.

Just watched Moonlight, such a great, subtle movie. Ali wasn't great in it though, at least two more actors outshined him. La La Land, comparatively, was a real treat for entertainment. A sophisticated Hollywood dream, yet it always feels a bit over the top and self-obsessive to me.

Donnamarie - To me it looks like he handed the card to Faye Dunaway as if to show her there was something wrong, but she looked at him as if he should have worn his glasses and just read off the film title without looking closely at the category. At that point there wasn't much he could do without making things worse.

Beatty should have just said something he saw the problem he didn't need to tell Faye simply handle it .

It was the accounts who messed up, after saying Oscar mistake was so unlikely.
