Starting to wonder if there isn't some truth to those rumors. Where the hell is she? Neither one of them has poked their heads up in weeks - and it looks like he's been in LA. alone for quite a while. Or maybe they're just hiding out here or in the UK for the holidays? It's really stupid to buy such an expensive home and never set foot in it.

Lizzy- you're proving my point.... those two can go underground very well...they aren't hounded by the press- the press is called to let them know where and when they can be photographed.

PP -  Never doubted it for a minute. But I do think there are times when they get caught unawares.

I have to say I miss seeing George Clooney out and about. 

This is not new in the three years they have been together they disappeared for long stretches.  I think they are just living their lives. As for where they are who knows with all their homes they can be anywhere. I don't believe they call the paps , I do believe there are people wherever they go who get paid to tell when they will be there though.

annemarie - I think it's a bit of both. I know there are people in hotels, stores and restaurants who make extra money notifying the paps when a celebrity shows up. I also know that when a celebrity has a project to publicize they - usually via their agents or publicists (that's what they're for!) - let the media know where to find them. It's part of their job. Sometimes it's even in their contract that they have to make a certain number of public appearances, although I think George is beyond that stage by now.

I don't believe George does that.  I never have.  If it's a public event where the press should be notified then it makes sense.  George's publicist would get the word out.  But I don't think George or anyone who works for him notifies the paps when he is out on his own time.  I'm sure there are lots of times when the paps think he might be at one of his usual go-to restaurants and sometimes they get lucky and other times not.   They know his cars ... and motorcycles. They know where he lives and can tool around town and get lucky catching him going somewhere.
