The Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has confirmed presence in Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics this year. According to the newspaper O Globo, Clooney comes to the country at the invitation of coffee brand which is pitchman, Nespresso.

The actor must stay in the same hotel the star of 007, Daniel Craig, located in Barra da Tijuca. No information about the actor's wife coming, the lawyer Amal Clooney.

He needs to be very careful. I remember when he came back from South Sudan and did an interview with Piers Morgan. He said he contracted malaria there because mosquitoes love him. Hopefully the ones in Rio won't love him as much. It would be awful if he came home with the zika virus.

Well, Omega is the official timekeeper for the Olympics, so Cindy could be collecting a paycheck for appearing.  George would get a double paycheck, one from Omega and one from Nespresso.

If this were the old days with younger George, I'd be more worried about Rio than about him.

It seems really risky to me. They just announced on the news that there are over 1,000 cases of zika virus in the US and it is on its way to becoming one of the fastest spreading STDs. I'd really think twice about exposing anyone who might have a pregnancy in their future. I hope they bring tons of mosquito repellent and they all stay safe.

Just a note on the margin. I havent seen them (Cindy/Rande, George/Amal ) together for a long time. Coincidence? I mean G and R r not just businesspartners but they're friends too... Sorry being off.
IMO its quite dangerous visiting Rio for the Olympics.

Well, assuming the translation is that he cancelled, I can certainly understand that.

But what are the two reasons we 'know' already?

I've always wondered why there is no contingent of Olympic athletes on the site selection committee. The athletes should be able to vote for their own reps and have a say in where the Olympics are held. They're the ones most at risk.

How such an economically precarious country out-bribed the other contenders is beyond me, but Rio was a poor choice even before Zika.
