The brainy beauty has just returned from a trip to George's hometown of Augusta in Kentucky.
The Tomorrowland actor stopped by his his high school reunion alongside his wife, much to the delight of the small town's s 1,200 or so residents.
The pair attended a private party at the Augusta Pub where they smiled and laughed away the night with the actor's journalist father Nick, as well as returning to Magee's, a local bakery, where he introduced Amal to his favourite pastry, called the 'transparent pie'.

Amal's return to London, where her family are based, comes as the couple plan to move into a £10million home on the River Thames.
The pair bought a stunning Grade II-listed manor house in Berkshire after their four-day wedding last year but have submitted expensive plans to revamp it and the grounds.

Amal looks lovely. Beautiful suit. Looks like the sleeves and back side of the jacket is sweater knit.

I think the suit fits her perfectly. Her style looks classic and complements her slim figure.

The suit is top-line, of course. She wears it well. But there is nothing exceptional (ignoring her thin frame) about her appearance besides that. I see half a dozen women every day who look better. Not knocking Amal. But, sheesh, the media fawning is tiresome.

The media gushes over Amal and they criticize her. They like having it both ways. I don't expect this attention towards her will change anytime soon.

They do that with all the celebrities. I think we notice it more with her because we're George's fans and we're paying more attention. What I find funny is that you can almost tell which media outlet it is by the tone of the article. They either idolize her or demonize her, but there doesn't seem to be much middle ground - or objective reporting, for that matter.

That goes to show you how subjective the definition of beauty is. I personally think she looked absolutely fabulous and I haven't seen any woman wearing business outfits better than her. But maybe you live in a place where every woman is completely fabulous and dresses like that all the time. And if you don't like what the DM writes, then do like me and just scan the text. I only read half of what they write.Way2Old4Dis wrote:The suit is top-line, of course. She wears it well. But there is nothing exceptional (ignoring her thin frame) about her appearance besides that. Codexchick I agree with you about the DM. I don't even read their text anymore. They don't provide any real news about either George or Amal. They just talk up what they are wearing and how they look. But the DM always provide great pics.

Re: Amal, London, June 16, 2015
Well, take away the designer suit, and Amal falls somewhere in the middle of the pack, IMO. And no, I don't live where all the women are fabulous. But many of them are very attractive without benefit of wearing five thousand bucks at a time.
But, whatever. I'm self-imposing a moratorium on most things Amal. If she's with George and he's the center of attention/topic of discussion, I can tolerate mention of her. But I'm even to the point of wanting to bitchslap George for all the Best Woman Ever slobbering. Yeah, it's wonderful that he loves his wife so much. I cut him some slack because I like to see him happy. But I don't buy the hype or share the consensus opinion on the awesomeness of Amal, so I'll be skipping it from now on.

Re: Amal, London, June 16, 2015
If George says Amal is the most special, the most beautiful and smartest woman who has ever been in his life then that is good enough for me. I don't doubt his feelings for her one bit. And I have absolutely no problem with him saying all the wonderful things he says about her to anyone who wants to know. He has been without a very special someone in his life for many years so I suspect he is over the top for his feelings for her. I'm more interested in how George feels about Amal than I do the media. Because it's him I care about. I want him to be happy and I'm pretty damn sure he is.

I never trust it when someone has to constantly brag about their significant other, how much in love they are, how happy they are, it's like they are trying to prove it to everyone including themselves.

My husband has been saying great things about me for 31 years, he has nothing to prove. George found someone he loves and is proud of it there is nothing he has to prove to anyone . He is living his life and wants to share his happiness. As my husband says a man only needs one good woman.

The fawning media is tiresome, as is the coverage of every outfit she wears. At least this one looks like she may have sign it before. In the pic of her getting in the car her ankles are scary thin. Can see all the bones and tendons.

I think she looks stunning as usual! I like the fact that she has a career and she isn't at his side all the time. I think it helps to keep a healthy marriage that way. Good for them!

I love the lavender suit on her. george is away on a field trip for his tequila and she is in London. I guess if george is happy I am happy for him but he is the center of attention, not Amal. If he was not such a rich and well known person and actor, and has lots of money, I doubt if she would have ever married him. This is my opinion and if he was just a average working guy, then she would not even consider marriage. You are a special man george, and do not ever think you have married up. you married someone who you can converse with and is intelligent but so are you. love you, bg
