When it comes to competing with Amal Clooney, there's not many people who stand a chance. 
But Jessica Alba gave George's accomplished wife a run for her money as they stepped out in similar styles on Thursday.
And it was a case of goodbye skinny jeans, hello flares as both women opted for a '70s vibe in matching monochrome wide-legged Pants.

Human rights lawyer Amal, who married her Hollywood beau last year,  went for a full-on bell bottom with a heavy pattern, which made the most of her slim, long legs.
She teamed the jazzy pants with a simple black sleeveless top and a large shoulder bag as she made her way into an office building in  New York.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the US, actress Jessica was sporting a virtually identical ensemble.
She also added a simple black top, but smartened up the look with a blazer as she headed to a cafe in Venice, California.

The '70s wardrobe staple is back in a big way this spring/summer, after years of designers pushing skinny silhouettes.

And it's not only flares which are making a comback; disco glam, hippy prints and long suede skirts are all must-haves for 2015.
And Amal can really play with her style now she lives in the home of cool fashion - New York.

Working girl: Amal is currently working as a visiting faculty member at Columbia Law School
The British beauty has recently set up home in Manhattan with George while he shoots his new film Money Monster.
She is also currently busy after being hired as a visiting faculty member at Columbia Law School this spring.
A source tells People: 'They're having a great time in New York, both working really hard but also having fun together.'

Hooray! Flares are coming back!

Can't say I'm excited about the rest of the 70s fashion style that the shops are foisting on us, but I can live with palazzo pants and flares.

I like the print of these trousers. But I want to see her shoes better. They look a bit weird.

The shoes do look "different".  But that is probably Amal's spontaneity and quirkiness showing itself.

It is Amal showing herself againnnnnnnnn today.Stacy never so much as this never!People notice and she get all bad comment. She chase fame to much all say.

alisonfan, Stacy had not an everyday Job like Amal, you can not compare them. also Stacey was not married to George so her Media Attention was much lower compare to Amal. So obviously if Amal is going to her Job everyday you see pics everyday. Stacey tried to go hiking everyday bit I guess this wasn't the same  

And i didn't notice she gets "all" bad comments. Maybe you should read somewhere else

I wouldn't say that Amal has an everyday job, yes she is a lawyer, but it's not that she goes to the office everyday.  I'm sure there are lawyers that wish they could take months off and travel every where.

No, you're right, Cece, she doesn't have an everyday job. She has an on-call 24 hours a day job because she's an international lawyer with clients all over the world - of course with a job like that she may have to travel a bit too...........

Just because she isn't in London doesn't mean she is not working she can do her job from anywhere as long as she has a phone and computer. She also can fly back and fourth whenever she needs to.

I do no know what is so great about amal. but the media loves her. she just looks ordinary person walking down the st. many women can have shapes like hers but since she is georges wife, that is what makes her unique. like the pants and top. like george much better. bg

It does not compare Amal with Jessica Alba. Jessica is beautiful and has a curvy body, is not a broomstick as Amal

What I find most amazing! People said that the ex-girlfriends of George were unocuppied, who were always traveling with him, going to restaurants and posing for pictures and now we see the" important " Amal lawyer doing the same thing. For a lawyer so "influential", she has plenty of time.

Catwoman - If I were in her position I'd stick to George like glue too. Who wouldn't?

Seriously, though, it seems that though the cases she's involved with are prestigious there aren't that many of them. They seem all to be international cases taking place at governmental levels and they seem to move at a snail's pace like all governmental activities. Her active professional involvement is probably spread out over time and she probably has a lot of time when she's not needed to do anything but wait for developments (and hang out with George ).

The thing is there's a lot of preparation involved in these international cases...it doesn't require her to be in an office in London all the time. She doesn't work for a firm, she works for a law chambers. She can do prep work for these cases wherever she is. She can work from her hotel room in whatever city. She's an international lawyer, so I think that's where some people are getting confused as to why she's able to travel with George. Her work goes with her. I thought that was obvious. She is not needed in court everyday. The majority of what lawyers do is preparation and paperwork, in her case she can do that from wherever she is living at the moment. And if need be Skype and conference calls help with the rest. This is not unique to her, it's just the world we live in now.

With that said, I do love those trousers on her. I really like the Stella bag as well.
