George Clooney and wife Amal have moved to Manhattan for a few months, and were spotted having “cozy drinks” in a booth at the Carlyle Thursday.
The two were with another couple at Bemelmans Bar while designer Reed Krakoff sat nearby.
Clooney’s in town to begin filming “Money Monster” co-starring Julia Roberts, Dominic West and British “Unbroken” star Jack O’Connell. Jodie Foster’s directing the film, in which Clooney plays a Jim Cramer-like host of a TV stock-picking show.

Oh, i didn't know Julia Roberts is in this film too. Would be interesting to see if there are ever any reports or pics of Julia and Amal meeting up together with George on one of these double date type gatherings.

Except Paul McCartney has been added to the mix. He wasn't mentioned in the first story.
Wonder what the connection is between Paul, Stella and the Clooneys. How did they all become friends? Remember Stella and her hubby had dinner with G&A in London last fall. Before Amal I wasn't aware that George knew Paul. Maybe they had met in the past but didn't know they were friends.

Right Joanna. I know that. And she wore another outfit by Stella in Como. Just seems that there is more of a relationship here.

Could it just be that they're all staying at the Carlyle and happened to meet up at the bar? The weather's been so lousy I can see them wanting to get out of their rooms for a while, but not wanting to go out into the cold so they hit the hotel bar. That's what I would do.
