George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's Wedding Menu, Personal Gift and letter to Guests Revealed
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's Wedding Menu, Personal Gift to Guests Revealed
There's a reason why George Clooney is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. The Oscar-winning actor and his now wife Amal Alamuddin tried to make their wedding weekend special not just for themselves, but for their family and close friends who flew in. Us Weekly can exclusively reveal that guests in attendance received a special gift from the happy couple and had a ball during the private reception.
The bag of goodies included a wedding weekend itinerary, suggestions for what to do, and yes, rules for the big day.
Friday, famous pals like Emily Blunt, John Krasinski and Matt Damon celebrated the lovebirds at Cipriani Hotel. Guests had the option to feast at the residence or in town, and were notified that drinks and piano entertainment would be available around the Cipriani pool well into the evening. If not, they could entertain themselves with the iPod and speaker they each received in their rooms. The bride and groom created a personal playlist for a special touch. (As previously reported, the pair also celebrated with separate bachelor and bachelorette parties.)
PHOTOS: George's former flames
Saturday morning, guests were left to themselves before witnessing the pair exchange vows at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande hotel. They had the option to sip drinks downstairs, but were expected to make their way to the boats on time for the ceremony.
After the pre-wedding celebrations, Clooney and his British lawyer love finally said "I do," and received a big round of cheers around 8:45 p.m. Guests then feasted on lobster, lemon risotto, and fried polenta with mushrooms, and danced to hits from bands like Blondie, Jackson 5, Amy Winehouse, and Daft Punk.

Everyone was given a code for their phones for security purposes, and were asked to leave their personal devices back in their hotel rooms. Cameras were supplied at the reception, which lasted well into the early morning. (Good thing Sunday brunch begins at 2 p.m. back at Cipriani!)
Before heading home Sunday, guests will congratulate the newlyweds once more at a late dinner at the Granaries of the Republic. They won't be packing up just their fancy attire from the night before, however. Clooney and Alamuddin gifted everyone with a framed picture of themselves.

"We're both so glad you're here. You've come a long way so we'll make it worth the trip," a letter from the couple read. "Thanks for being here. It means the world to us."

It's official: George Clooney is off the market!
The famous Hollywood hunk said goodbye to his bachelor days after tying the knot to his ladylove Amal Alamuddin in a beautiful and intimate symbolic wedding ceremony in Venice, Italy, Saturday evening after sunset.
The actor, who assumingly looked extremely dapper in his black Armani tux, was greeted with his beautiful lady at the gorgeous Aman Canal Grande hotel.
Clooney and his blushing bride swapped vows on a podium in front of a large wall of white candles in the presence of more than 100 of their nearest and dearest, which included a star-studded list of names like Cindy Crawford, who wore a blue, sleeveless, V-neck gown, and husband Rande Gerber, plus Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso (wearing Resort 15), John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, Ellen Barkin, Anna Wintour, U2 frontmanBono and...wait for it...Bill Murray!

Clooney and Alamuddin's wedding venue was decorated with white flowers, including tiny roses, lilies and carnations as well as hundreds of additional hand-crafted flickering candles.
Guests sipped on hundreds of bottles of champagne and red wine and celebrated with disco and jazz music past midnight.
The bride's day got started early this morning when she got her makeup and hair done at the Aman Canal Grande, where Clooney and guests joined her. And we can only hope that Amal was able to get some rest before her big day, because she had a busy night last night.
The 53-year-old actor and his fiancée kicked off the wedding festivities when they arrived in Venice on Friday, looking every bit the perfect couple as they boated through the canal. Their guests arrived the same way. Throughout the day and Saturday, scores of excited tourists snapped photos as police scrambled to ensure traffic along the waters moved swiftly.
On the day of the wedding, guests dressed in formalwear and were greeted at the dock of the hotel by staffers wearing traditional venetian gondolier outfits, complete with straw boater hats and white shirts. Crowds cheered as they watched the arrival of the celebrities and yelled especially loud for Bono.
And, of course, before Clooney and his human rights lawyer love, 36, were able to say "I Do," they needed one last night of pre-wedding fun—the traditional bachelor and bachelorette parties, of course!
Alamuddin got all dolled up, donning a gorgeous red gown as she arrived in a boat with about 10 of her nearest and dearest gal-pals, including her sister, Tala and mom, Baria, for her last night as a single lady. She and her friends were accompanied by a second boat that had Clooney and his guys also riding to the Aman for his bachelor party.
Once the two groups arrived to their destination, "George escorted Amal down there then left," an eyewitness told E! News.
Hours before the wedding ceremony on Saturday, Clooney had breakfast with Crawford and Gerber on the terrace of the Belmond Hotel Cipriani, overlooking the Venetian lagoon.
"They were laughing and joking," an onlooker told E! News. "George looked so happy, he was sipping an espresso and chatting away happily. He couldn't stop smiling."
The wedding fun will continue on Sunday, when the newlyweds have lunch with their guests, a source tells E! News.
Clooney's rep confirms the actor and Alamuddin will wrap up their eventful weekend fun with a civil ceremony on Monday, at which point they will officially and legally be man and wife.
Congratulations to the two lovebirds!

Boarding a girls-only water taxi, Alamuddin, who looked stunning in a customized red Alexander McQueen dress, took the ladies in her party for an intimate dinner at the Aman Resort, where the couple will tie the knot later today.

"They dined on the second floor," a source told Us Weekly. "There were candles on a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. Gondolas were parked up outside the venue, and one of the gondoliers even serenaded them from the water!"
Clooney, meanwhile, boarded a boat with the men in his party, and headed to his favorite Venetian restaurant, Da Ivo.
"They arrived around 9.30 p.m. and dined amongst other patrons," a source told Us. "They didn’t leave until 12:30 a.m., when George’s driver pulled up in a grand taxi boat to pick them up. There was a crowd of well-wishers who cheered loudly when George came out. He flashed a beaming smile and saluted everyone who was there, it was very sweet."

A source close to Clooney told Us that having his father, Nick Clooney, with him, is a huge deal. “George more than most things, is excited to have his father, whom he has so much respect for, be there to see his wedding along with his mother,” the source said. “Having them there is tremendously important.”
Other than that, making sure that his wife-to-be, Alamuddin, is happy, is top of his list of priorities.
“George wants to make sure Amal is comfortable and to be honest she's not comfortable with all the attention, that's not the kind of the girl that she is and that's why George loves her,” the source continued. “They want something fun, a party, but don't want it to be a spectacle so that her family is comfortable.”
PHOTOS: Clooney and Keibler, the way they were
One thing’s for sure though, when the couple do tie the knot (around 6 p.m. local time this evening at the stunning, seven star hotel Aman Canal Grande) there will be a lot of fun and laughter.
“Rande [Gerber] is planning a good speech,” the source said. “He's going to have a lot of fun with George. They want people to be laughing and happy during the weekend celebrations.”
Stay tuned for details of the couple's "I do's" later today!

The couple's florists, Munaretto, have been working hard for the past few days, transforming the stunning building into a romantic wedding venue.
"Staff were preparing bouquets, table arrangements and other floral designs well into the night," a hotel source told Us of the preparations on Friday, Sept. 26. "Everything they were using was white with green flourishes, lots of roses and peonies being used."
Now that the official ceremony is over, guests are retiring to the hotel's garden for canapés and photographs, before returning inside for a five course banquet, prepared by Italian chef Riccardo De Pra, before the speeches begin.

A source told Us Rande Gerber's speech is going to be mischievous. "He's going to have a lot of fun with George," the source said. "They want people to be laughing and happy during the weekend celebrations."
Today's festivities are just part of a weekend-long celebration for Clooney and his new bride. On Friday, Sept. 26, guests split into male and female parties, boarding boats bound for pre-wedding bachelor and bachelorette parties at different venues in the beautiful Italian city.
This morning, the wedding party relaxed over a leisurely breakfast at Venice's Cipriani Hotel hosted by Alamuddin's parents, Baria and Ramzi. Tomorrow evening, Sunday, Sept. 28, another spectacular dinner is planned at the hotel's 19th century Granaries of the Republic, which has been decorated with flowers and stunning crystal chandeliers.

Thanks to Kimber George Clooney-US for that find (and thanks to Picachu for sharing with us)
As already mentioned in sevens article above, below now the pics and the letter from George and Amal (found by Kimber). Looks like one of the guests didn't feel to keep quite and leaked it.

I think she will definitely meet that fashion bar no problem. She seems to love to dress well and has her own personal style, which while I may not like everything she wears she is not a clone of anyone else.

One thing I noticed is that on the schedule for Monday morning there's no mention of the guests joining them for the legal wedding ceremony. I'd assume from this that it's only going to be the parents and close friends with them?

She's a bride for crying out loud! They all get all the attention on their day.
George Clooney was the world's most famous bachelor. Famous for being single. Of course the whole world's going to want to know about the woman who changed him.

I think sevens meant this???

While George Clooney made headlines this weekend for his marriage to Amal Alamuddin, the wedding is reportedly not yet official after their symbolic ceremony Saturday night.
According to Corriere Della Sera, the Clooney-Alamuddin nuptials are not officially recognized in Italy before being registered at city hall, which the couple is expected to do Monday at 1 p.m. at Ca'Farsetti. The couple’s extravaganza at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande Venice Resort Venice was officiated by former Rome Mayor Walter Veltroni, but is not recognized under Italian law.
While hotel staff were obliged to sign a nondisclosure agreement, several details did leak of the grand ceremony. Corriere Della Sera reports that the halls of the party were flooded with white roses. And a string jazz ensemble played Nat King Cole’s “When I Fall in Love.” Agence France-Press reported that the guests dined on polenta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto with figs before sitting down to a five-course meal which included lobster risotto.
"George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were married today (Sept. 27) in a private ceremony in Venice, Italy," the actor's publicist said in a Saturday statement.
Clooney and Alamuddin were spotted Sunday en route to the Cipriani, he in a gray suit, and she in a white lace dress decorated with flowers. They hosted a brunch pool party at the Cipriani where many of their guests are staying. The wedding guests included Cindy Crawford, Bono, Ellen Barkin, Matt Damon and Anna Wintour. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who were shooting By the Sea in Malta, have not yet been spotted.
Italian media reports were divided with some calling the ceremony too "bling-bling," but most accounts were grateful to the couple for bringing a much-needed boost of money and attention to Italy's still-faltering economy.

The wedding of the year isn't apparently legal until Monday

That's for sure. They are getting more attention than the President, which George usually gets, but she is loving every bit of attention she is getting.
she's a bride, what is she suppose to do, come out all sad and ignore everyone, she smiled and waved a few times to people who were shouting congratulations, anyone would do that and i dont think she is totally comfortable with all the attention, at times i thought she looked at little lost in how to react but she handled it pretty well

Gosh...I'm emotional reading the letter and watching the photo...
The letter is witty in a stylish George tone...and the photo just makes me love him even more...how could anyone come up with a better wedding gift like this?
Truly happy for them and wish them all the best in this marriage.

And starting with 'Okay, this is going to be fun'!
The playlist thing is something Amal's friends said she was brilliant at, and we know His Nibs puts together film lists to give to his friends. They must have had loads of fun putting them together. Bet they made them all individual - Bono's with chamber music on maybe?

I LOVE this photo! If they had released it back when they got engaged their whole relationship would have made more sense and saved a lot of "WTF?" moments. They actually look like a REAL COUPLE! If this is them together, NOW I get it.

I think this photo was shot during their trips around the Africa in March? Even before the engagement. Gosh, they released some photos of them together after the engagement but George really knows how to save the best one until the very best day comes.

Re: George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's Wedding Menu, Personal Gift and letter to Guests Revealed
TMZ is kind of right with the last sentence that's why we have those pics and letter above
George Clooney -- Have Fun at My Wedding ... But I Got My Digital Eye On You!
George Clooney created a deliciously diabolical security plan to keep guests from giving the media pictures of the wedding ... and even though he said the issue was hackers ... it's clear the REAL concern was that he didn't completely trust all the guests.
TMZ knows the ground rules for wedding night, requiring ALL guests:
-- Leave your cellphone in your hotel room
-- If you think you may need your phone, then bring it ... but leave it at a kiosk near the entrance
-- All guests will be provided a burner phone with a code, which serves as a ticket to enter
-- All guests will also receive a camera to take pics as they please
-- HERE'S THE CATCH ... The camera has a code that allows George's people to access the photos. So if Amal's 3rd cousin were to give TMZ a pic of the nuptials, George could find the matching phone pic and skewer the cuz.
The guests were all told the reason for the security measures was because of all the hackers who have been in the news recently. But here's the thing. If it's hackers the wedding party were interested in ... what's the point of tracking down the particular camera?
Clearly -- and reasonably -- George and company know ... friendships and blood relations only go so far.

I think so, Seven
Well they left this private because it's the more intimate has ever came out.
"The only decent picture we've ever taken"
They look a really lovely and funny couple.

Yep. But he might not have known then that she would say 'yes.' That took another month to gauge.

I think he knew from the first moment that he will be married her.
The trip in Africa wasn't with Amal's cousin, the one whose marriage she officiated (by the way, I haven't seem him yet)?

Yes, and how dare she wear a slightly 'risque' dress which shows off her long legs the day after her wedding to the aforesaid gorgeous man in the most romatic place on earth! Outrageous behaviour!! Should have been in court attire as befits her occupation in life. Truly shocking........
