George Clooney is set to marry Amal Alamuddin in Venice, Italy today and A-list stars have arrived in the city ahead of the ceremony.

A rehearsal dinner took place last night at the exclusive five-star Belmond Cipriani Hotel on the nearby island of Giudecci. Amal looked stunning in a red dress with her gorgeous husband-to-be George suited and booted.

The Hollywood couple, who were joined by family and friends, are set to tie the knot at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel before guests party the night away and fireworks are let off.

Lana Del Rey to play?
The wedding party will reportedly be escorted by police via boat to the luxury seven-star Aman resort within the 450-year-old Palazzo Papadopoli, where they will enjoy a five-course dinner.

The restaurant at the venue will allegedly turn into a nightclub and Lana Del Rey has been invited to serenade the couple, while George will dedicate the song When I Fall in Love to his beautiful bride.

George is being super nice to the press
US TV personality A. J. Calloway, who has been reporting on the wedding for US TV show Extra, posted a photograph on Instagram today holding a bottle of tequila with George's signature on.

He added the caption: "So I spoke to George and he is in a great mood. Asked about his tequila and he was kind enough to give me a bottle, I in turn gave him one of my cigars. #AGreatExchange #CASAMIGOS #GeorgeClooney."

What a nice guy Clooney is! And he had 100 cases of the stuff flown in for the wedding so everyone will get to taste his prize-winning tipple.

Paps on boats
George Clooney certainly doesn't need an official wedding photographer with the world's press following him about all day.

While the star was having breakfast a dozen snappers were on the water in boats with their long lens cameras pointing towards the husband-to-be, who couldn't stop laughing.

The actor, who was dining with his best man and wife Cindy Crawford, is a good sport and knows how excited everyone is to see him finally tie the knot after being named an eternal bachelor.

George Clooney was spotted having breakfast this morning ahead of his big day.

The Oscar-winning actor was at a restaurant in Venice, Italy, after last night's rehearsal dinner with fiancée Amal Alamuddin, friends and family at Hotel Cipriani.

He was seen tucking into a meal with best man Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford, who is also a close friend.

The actor was all smiles as he laughed with the couple and looked as though he couldn't wait to see his beloved fiancée walk down the aisle.

She was no doubt having her hair done while this snap was being taken. How exciting!

While we are excited for George and Amal, it's a day most women will be sobbing into their pillows as they come to terms with the fact that one of Hollywood's hottest bachelors is OFFICIALLY off the market.

And there have been some hilarious reactions on Twitter to the news, from women crying using far too many emoticons - to hopeful men comforting their female friends.

The wedding times and details
Amal checked into Palazzo Papadopoli Hotel last night accompanied by her four bridesmaids, according to Grazia.

The lawyer slept at the seven-star venue on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy and the front of the palace was lit up with dozens of candles to mark her arrival.

Her Oscar-winning fiancé George stayed at the Cipriani Hotel where they had their rehearsal dinner with family and friends last night.

At about 5.30pm today wedding guests will head to the ceremony and a small orchestra will reportedly play classic tracks including Nat King Cole's When I Fall in Love.

Brad Pitt is expected to arrive at 12pm on a private jet from Paris and could attend without wife Angelina Jolie, while U2's Bono is due in from Dublin, Ireland at around the same time.

According to Grazia, a number of workers spent yesterday unloading furniture and paintings after George and Amal thought the venue was too "minimalist" and needed to appear more lived in.

Sources also claim the pair's matrimonial bed had yet to be delivered yesterday as the finishing touches were being added.

Security outside hotel
There are plenty of security guards and rigging surrounding the hotel after last night's celebrations.

Guests will have breakfast at the five-star venue ahead of the ceremony and fans, along with the world's press, have descended on the area to try and get a glimpse of the bride on her big day.

Journalist Hugh Whitfield from Seven Network Australia posted a photograph this morning of the security around the hotel on Twitter.

The itinerary
George will wear an Armani tuxedo for his big day, according to People magazine.

Reports suggest Amal will wear Oscar de la Renta, but she has also been seen leaving Alexander McQueen in recent weeks and was spotted carrying a Stella McCartney bag in Italy on Thursday. She just loves to keep us guessing!

A five-course meal will be served to guests after the wedding and the speeches will be read out. No doubt there will be tears!

Guests will then be taxied back to the hotel for drinks around the swimming pool and fireworks are also planned for this evening. It's going to be a long day for the couple and we can't wait to hear the details from the ceremony.

Breakfast at Hotel Cipriani
Guests will enjoy a breakfast this morning at the five-star Hotel Cipriani, where much of the weekend's celebrations will take place, according to US Weekly reports.

Family, friends and the husband and wife-to-be will then be whisked off to the luxury SEVEN star Aman Canal Grande Hotel via boat for the ceremony, which will be officiated by George's close friend and former Rome Mayor, Walter Veltroni.

We now have the full itinerary for the day from the New York Post's Page Six and have been checking out the hotel - it looks very swanky. It's set to be a full weekend of celebrations and we hear even fireworks will be let off.

Amal stunned in a gorgeous scarlet gown last night at her rehearsal dinner. George is one lucky man!

The British laywer wore the red and black number, which showed off her amazing legs, for their meal at the Belmond Cipriani Hotel on the nearby island of Giudecci in Italy.

George was also suited and booted in navy with a white unbuttoned shirt and the couple couldn't contain their excitement as they were joined by family and friends and hopped onto waiting boats to head to their next destination.

George Clooney and fiancée Amal Alamuddin will marry today at the exclusive seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice, Italy.

A-lists guests will include Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, while other rumoured guests include recently married Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and U2's Bono.

The 53-year-old actor George and his wife-to-be Amal, 36, have been pictured in Venice aboard a taxiboat, called Amore, ahead of the wedding with a number of friends and family.
