I thought they would start with that rumor much sooner after they had dinner there....but I guess page six needed a bit more time to figure that out LOL


George Clooney planning Venice wedding with Amal

George Clooney is planning a romantic Italian wedding in Venice with fiancée Amal Alamuddin, Page Six can exclusively reveal.


The Hollywood star and prominent human rights lawyer Alamuddin are hoping to marry at a palace in the historic city in September, we are told. The couple was seen dining in the floating city in late May after touring possible wedding venues.


A source said, “George and Amal want to be married in Italy, but they need a location that offers them and their guests privacy.”


We are told that Clooney — who intends to marry Amal exactly one year after they met — decided against a wedding at his stunning Lake Como estate because it doesn’t offer enough privacy, and he is concerned the attention a wedding would attract would inconvenience the locals and neighbors.
Clooney, 53, and Alamuddin were spotted dining at Venetian restaurant Da Ivo late last month, accompanied by Clooney’s bodyguard and his girlfriend.


According to a report, they toasted with Prosecco and white wine, then the group enjoyed sautéed shellfish, smoked tuna, mussel soup, crayfish and artichoke risotto and charcoal-grilled seabass before departing in a motorboat from a back pier close to the restaurant. The next morning, they flew out of Venice airport by helicopter.


Clooney also spent time in the city of love when he opened the 2013 Venice Film Festival with his and Sandra Bullock’s Oscar-winning movie “Gravity” and was spotted piloting a water taxi on the canals.
La Nuova di Venezia newspaper reported that after seeing Clooney aboard the boat, local lawyer Mario D’Elia alerted Venice police, asking them to find out whether Clooney has a nautical license or a permit to pilot the water taxi. But naturally, Clooney was able to charm himself out of trouble and no action was taken.


A spokesman for Clooney didn’t get back to us last night.

Somewhere in Italy other than Como. Kinda complies to the earlier reports.

For the love of everything ....another day, another wedding site.    I'd expect these stories to escalate massively in the next several weeks. Can't wait until Stan announces they got married in October in Cleveland.  Would make about as much sense as the rest of the stories/ bull.

That place stinks to high heaven - nothing like taking a romantic gondola ride in an open sewer!  Yea baby gets me in the mood that's for sure!!  NOT!

I love Venice . I think Venice is too exspensive and logistically challenging for a wedding party . Of course George and Amal are planning their wedding there . I love walking around Venice getting lost .

I was so lost once I was practicality crying . I went to the other side of the canal to go to a market , reposo came and the shops closed .

I think New Mexico is a place where George likes to go and that would be a nice place. I still am in shock he is getting married.Even the word scares me. I guess when u find the right one, u are not afraid anymore. U conquer the world and he has found he better half. Love is in the air, and all of are happy for him or we wish it could have been me or any of us girls. Love to you George. bg

They are misleading (maybe not intentionally, it´s because of the press) but we won´t know where exactly it will be. Sadly...

Sevens, Page Six is really no more reputable that any other gossip column.  They don't really "investigate" their stories.  While Page Six is featured in the New York Daily News, a fairly reputable newspaper, Page Six is still what it is, a gossip page.

My money is on a venue in Switzerland, near Como but not to near all the paps
