Have to give the man credit where credit is due.  He definitely knows how to work the paps.  Perfect balcony shots, perfect time of day. great lighting.  The future in-laws, a couple of shots  where he's gazing at Amal.  Looks like he's pointing at the paps, in one shot.  Sort of when he looked straight into the camera on the safari.  The paps get the shots, we get new pictures and he's in control.  Everybody wins!

I put my money on a 4th of July weekend wedding way back when.  It's perfect:  everyone (Americans anyway) off from work, and it's a long weekend; parents usually visit that week anyway, so it's not tipping anyone off if the family is there this week.  

The September laws about paparazzi access?  A decoy.  I hear wedding bells...  

I hope they do get married on the fourth, but from what I understand getting married in Italy involves a lot of paper work don't know if they could have gotten it all done in two months.

It's not cumbersome process. Italy loves George and  would speed up the paperwork for him. It would be good PR.

Here is the latest girlfriend overlooking from the balcony with a beautiful view of the lake .. several are cute feet that have walked before her and now

Nice pics taken with a longlense camera. Feels like snooping a bit but just a bit.

She's obviously not camera-shy. She knows the cameras are there - she's looking right at them. Even after George pointed them out to her and went back inside, she and her mother kept right on posing.

I know it sounds catty, and I know they may have felt that a few snaps might get the paps to leave them alone, but if they really want privacy, posing on the balcony is only chumming the waters for the paps. If they think they'll get more shots they'll never leave. George knows this, and I think she does, too.

Who knows what arrangements/agreements have been made ? We don't.....and there have been no more pictures since.
Done deal....and no harm done IMO.

Have to agree with both Lizzy and Joanna.  Was thinking about this as I was falling asleep ( weird, I know).

Lizzy ... if they pose and feed the frenzy, they have something to "complain" about... press invading our privacy that's why I got the restriction put into place.  Damned press!

Joanna... perhaps George made an arrangement with the paps  he certainly gave them what they wanted/needed in the past few days.  The dressed up couple slowly making their way to the restaurant ( her in a white dress no less), then the balcony scene. Now, there have been no shots of George since then, and I doubt he's hiding under the bed since then.  Maybe- hey I'll give you some really good shots full on, then cut me some slack for a while.

I think that happens all the time, especially when
George is in Laglio.
Nothing wrong with keeping the balance IMO.

Jo - If that's the case, was he just telling her where to look while she was "posing" on the balcony?   I agree a lot of this is arranged and staged for the paps, but I still don't think he asked for the new regulations in Laglio. I think that was the mayor's idea.

I believe he asks for that every year.  There was a big brew haha the first time, soon after he bought the villa, because he wanted to restrict some sort of sunning/beachy area and the locals were less than pleased. It was about the time he began adding to the compound.  He backed off of that, but asked for privacy assistance.  It appears the protection has expanded as time passed on.

So seriously and staying off the friggin topic, how much do you think the ring actually weighs?  I mean on her hand.

I've never had the opportunity to pick up anything that was 1 carat let alone 7 so I wonder if it's heavy on her hand.

Acreage was completed before Amal was allowed to accept the ring. Have to be sure he is worthy AND financially stable .

LornaDoone, it's clumsy, bulky. Not at all comfortable. Doesn't lie smooth against the finger. Here's how I know... a good friend's father was an executive at a jeweler, who had a ring made for his intended. Probably 5 or so carats. She broke off the relationship, and he still had the ring at the store. While visiting the store , he jokingly asked if I'd like to try it on ( right hand, bad luck to wear it on left- unless it's your ring). He came out with the ring, and 2 security officers. Beautiful ring, but as I said, not something I'd want to own. Of course, I'm sure Amal loves all 7 carats of it, and if it is less than easy to wear , she's more than willing to deal with it.

All I can say is POOOOOOOOOOOR  George!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same as Amal, I would think. Weight of the ring was a total necessity for ballast purposes during intimate moments.

Don't worry Lizzy I'm a cat-lover. The sharp claws are part of the attration for me.
