Aw, Katiedot, they are lovely! Sooooo much nicer than the incessant wind-driven rain pattering the panes here. Luckily, Irene has been fairly well-behaved, not a lady by any means (no matter how negotiable her affection), but not a vile fury either.

Well Katie, what about when George wins Best Director and/or Best Actor this coming awards season, you could do confetti to celebrate his successes. And the holidays are coming up, so I'm sure there will be occasions to use it then too.

I thought it was a very cute idea to spruce/change things up once in a while but like ello, I don't think I could live with it on a daily basis. Thank you for the rainbows, flowers and butterflies, it did lift the spirits around here I think.

Sorry I missed it! You did something like that last year - Easter I think.

FYI: FOR EVERYONE. Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but this forum is now pre-set to leave spaces after a quote and paragraphs.

So, no need to add your own.

See the big gap just above when you add a normal space (an extra "enter" that we are all use to doing) between a paragraph.

So, just hit "enter" once to start a new paragraph and the Forum will do the spacing. Will make for easier reading. Very Happy

LOL, another thing I noticed is if one makes edits to a comment right after posting, you don't have to give a reason for editing as a "current" edit is not noticed by the Forum and no one will even know. Once I've actually made 3 edits in a row after posting a comment and Forum still didn't notice. However, if after a few minutes one makes edits, the Forum will note in your date line that an edit was made; but, not what the edit was unless one fills in the Reason Box.

Ah, December is so far away! There I was hoping for another surprise... how about something thematic to the forum?

six-foot poles interspersed with the diametrically opposed kissy lips representing those who would never and those who so would?

Cascades of man-bits swinging left... or right?

How about if he wins in Venice, a parade of golden lions? Pretty please with petal parts and rainbow sugar on top? flower

Aw, seeing as you asked so nicely, maybe I can come up with something if George wins . . .

Happy to decorate the forum on an ad hoc basis but as it slows the site down I promise to take the falling stuff down after about 24 hours when we've all had a chance to ooh and aaah and then get really annoyed by it. Or nauseous.

Hi Marina

You need to save them in an online picture site (such as photobucket) and then follow the instructions how to upload them here, or just email them to me and I'll put them up for you.

Pari, many times I got this same message on my email box, every time was just add like: "you won IPod, congratulations, etc." It just takes a long time before it will open for you. "Sentbox" PMs which you sent, and ''Outbox" holds all your PMs's. I hope I am correct.

Yes... I got the Inbox part... I see the PMs leave via the Sentbox... but there is an Outbox as well... Is this the one that indicates that the message has REALLY reached the person??? Not sure of it there Smile

Also Zizi... the email I received is about my receiving a PM... but when I looked for it... it was not anywhere to be found in the box/es... Hence was wondering Smile
Thanks to you both again for your help ... Smile

What does it mean when you go to post a comment and a red message comes up something to the effect of "road control active on the forum, please wait 60 seconds to post"
What's 'road control' and what does it do? I'm supposing the reference is to heavy traffic on the site?

Road control? It used to say 'flood control'. You can only post once every 60 seconds; it's a safety thing set up to slow down or irritate spammers who can flood a site like this unchecked.

CindiGirl, when you go to a video (especially on YouTube), there is a "share" button beneath the video. When you click on that you can email or "embed". Click "embed" and then a bunch of symbols, etc will appear. Right click on that window - copy - then come to your comment and right click - paste. All the garbage stuff will show up on your post until you hit send. When your comment posts, it will show the video. I hope this is clear enough. I think I confused myself...
