Yep, everything looked fine on my profile. I hit the Save button, so maybe it'll reset it again and start working.

Help, I'm using my daughters iPad on the forum, how do I delete the history on Safari, it's not allowing me too. I don't want her coming on the site when she finds all the links in her history. So if any iPad users know I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Okay I solved my problem - easy as

Settings - Safari - Delete Cookies/Data and presto all history gone - phew, I thought she'd be on the site tomorrow - that can't do, she would read all the stuff Ive written about her..

I've got a little icon at top of page on the left that's like an open book.....on OS6 though.....
Hit that and history is shown.....there's a delete history button which clears them all off......also log out of forum each time ?

I have the same, except the button down the bottom says Clear and its light grey coloured (doesn't allow me to use it) I think I have IOS7 on this Ipad - had to go into settings to get rid of it - I do log off each time, now that I left it on the screen and hubby was reading all my posts - cheeky bugger

Good to do that cookie clearing even if you do not have curious mind hubby:) or daughter. My technical problem is not related to computer, but TV. Your hubby may be ok you liking Clooney. I don´t have a hubby, but just this guy who is still around and he found out from my friend that we, you know, like Clooney. So now if I have E! news on he changes the channel immidiately even if a glimpse of Clooney is showing.

I need a remote control that has bio id, fingerprint...not sure if they are any of those on the market. My phone has it.

Carla.....IMO you understand....

1. In your own home YOU have ownership of
the TV remote.
2. Record your special programmes to watch
on your own.
3. Your male guest needs to learn some manners.
4.Google will find you the remote that you need.

Well hubby knows about me and Clooney, hes okay with it - he doesn't get it but hes okay with it, he would have a ball if he joined this forum for the day, but he'd give away all my secrets so we can't have that!

Carla - smack your male guest on the hand like you do a naughty child if he touches your remote again!!

Chiki, when you post your comment, you have 3 "buttons" at the upper right corner of your post  -  multiQUOTE, QUOTE, and EDIT. Next to the EDIT button is an "X". That is for deleting the post.  After awhile, the delete option disappears.  You only have limited time to actually delete your post.  I hope that helps.

Don't know about emoticons.

But to embed a YouTube Video

1. Go to the YouTube Video page
2. Click on the URL in the address bar (not the embed code but the actual URL)
3. Come to this site and click on the YouTube icon
4. Insert your cursor into the box for URL and then either right click and paste or do a Control V for "view" which also pastes the URL into the box.
5. Click on insert
6. Go to Preview to make sure it inserted the video - you can also click on the video in the Preview pane to make sure it's working
7. Scroll back down and hit the SEND button

And that will finish the task for all of us to view and enjoy!

Other videos from other sites that are not YouTube? Can't help you there that's a katiedot question and might include copying and pasting code which I'm not sure if you can do here.

I didn´t realize x meant delete I thought just closing it... so what is that limited time to delete post exactly? I´m curious as I chronically make posts that are just better to think not write and send.  Rolling Eyes pale

Don't know the exact time limit on deleting a post, Katie would know but I assume as above you have a couple of hours. If you really need something deleted that you posted the day before for example best to contact a mod (myself) LornaDonne or Katiedot and ask for the post to be deleted.

Silly girl - Thank Heaven it's not just me! If I had to call tech support one more time this week my head would explode!

I called them to fix one problem and they created another. When they "fixed" that one, they caused another. I was on the phone with them for three days and I'm still not sure it's all cleared up. Does anyone know of a good tech support company, because the one I'm using stinks?

If you make changes in menu bar it only applies for the rest of the day. Permanently you can get rid of this problem in Terminal (Applications, Utilities). Type this command (with return key)

sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui KeepAlive -bool false

Administration password needed, but you have it if you are the only user of the computer. Disable Notification Center by replacing "true" with "false" (You can again re-enable notification center by replacing “false” in the above statement with “true.”

)
To quit the Notification Center write this command:

killall NotificationCenter

When you log out and open again your Mac, the Notification Center icon will be missing in the menu bar. Voilà!

Annoying as h**l, and still don´t know how to block them from iphone. Nice to open a page and see only a huge sofa ad.

But sometimes (very rarely) good things pop up, like this couple weeks back http://nettbutikk.lilleba.no

I took a look and placed an order  Laughing Pajamas and underwear for my son...in the middle of the work day - just like that. Convenient.

I've got it on my Mac and it stops adverts. There's a version for Windows too.
Unfortunately, not available for tablets or phones though.

On my iPad the top banner follows my web site surfing.
Whatever I've been on before shows up.
So far so good in reputable web sites !

Not had any "happy slags" pop up for ages now !

On my MacBook I've installed Adblock so no adverts appear.

Is there a way to get to the most recent post without having to scroll through 17 pages of posts individually to get to the last page? I'm on the mobile site and can't see any way of doing so. It would save a lot of time and be easier especially if the latest post is just a happy face or something like that.

Hi Tulips, Welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't use a mobile device to access the site so I don't know how it looks on a mobile.  Seems that's either forum user who also views via mobile or a katiedot question.  (katie is the site owner - I'm one of the mods).

Any other COHers using mobile with suggestions?  Thanks.

I am always on a cell and I never found a way to do it. But I use private setting which makes it quicker to scroll to page 17. The downside to use private setting is if you want to reply, you don't have the quote button, preview button, smileys button and the other tecnical gadgets. But for reading private setting is better. I wrote this reply on private setting.
