The American actor has he agreed to appear on a pub Racing Club Metro? VanityFair.fr tried to learn more.
Surprise in Ile edition of the daily 20 Minutes of 26 November 2013.
Full page spread advertising for Racing Metro Club, a club in the Paris region. It shows a picture of one of the biggest Hollywood stars wearing the club colors - white and blue scarf: George Clooney.
Advertising is telling the American actor: "A Game of Racing 92? What else? , "Referring to the famous advertising slogan for a coffee pod which actor is the face.
But the star of Gravity has he agreed to promote the image of rugby club? Nespresso and for the use of its slogan?
The question arose on Twitter:
Advertising in newspapers or on television is monitored, inter alia, by the Authority regulating professional advertising (ARPP, former BVP), which ensures that the advertisements "obey the law, be loyal, descents, friendly, "explains VanityFair.fr , the Director General of the ARPP, Stéphane Martin.
However, advertising on the internet or in free publications ( 20 minutes for example) are not required to be approved by the ARPP before publication. Only members who wish to be "recommended" can submit their advertisements to the Authority.
"If an ad does not comply with the framework set by law, the director of the daily newspaper which accepts responsibility" in the event of a dispute, and if the natural or legal person decides to pursue, says Stéphane Martin. Which indicates they did not have knowledge of this advertisement with George Clooney in the colors of Racing. "In this case, it is assumed that the permissions have been obtained" by the free daily newspaper, he argues.
Side 20 Minutes , one is not surprised by the publicity surrounding George Clooney: "The communication Racing is always based on personalities. Our partnership with the club is older, "notes Muriel Jean-Baptiste. "When we started working together, she says, we asked the Racing if he had all necessary permissions. The club has sent us a letter which stated that yes, and he took care of everything, she pleads. As our partnership is old, we believe it has the necessary permissions. "
Advertising in question, the General Council of Hauts-de-Seine appears prominently, logo included. The band states that the department "supports the Racing Metro 92". The richest region in France is it associated with this calling? "No" answers to VanityFair.fr , the General Council and returns the rugby club. "We we're not busy, contact the club directly."
Repeatedly contacted by writing to whether or not he or agreement George Clooney Nespresso, Racing Metro 92 has not returned our calls.
Obviously, Racing Metro 92 is very proud to display the American actor from every angle. Clooney found in the same visual profile on the official Twitter account of Racing:

Yeah, but Twitter rules are dif on the advert. Which means they may not care for recommendations on Twitter advertising. So using it this way.
If George decided to make a situation of it, they'd have to pull it and back up, offer to pay him for use of his Brand.
