Interview in the Speakeasy section of the Wall Street Journal posted an hour ago, where His Nibs is talking about how busy he is and confirms London trip next week to do the music bit of Monuments Men, and also mentions his father's involvement in the film!

Re: George Clooney at Gravity Luncheon NYC 10/2/13 at The Explorers' Club
Here is the article...thanks PA-N:
Gravity’ Star George Clooney Is Not In a Space Race
George Clooney, Sandra Bullock and director Alfonso Cuaron gathered at The Explorer’s Club in New York for a private luncheon to celebrate the release of their space thriller, “Gravity.”
Though Clooney plays a wise-cracking, veteran astronaut named Matt Kowalski in the film, when asked if the film inspired him to one day travel to space, the actor responded with an immediate “No.”
“I don’t see any reason,” he said with a laugh. “You know how Richard Branson’s sending people to space? You know what you don’t do? Don’t be the first one on that trip.”
“Remember when the Vega came out and they got car of the year? Maybe wait a little while before you jump on it,” he joked, referring to the car.
For “Gravity,” Clooney stars alongside his longtime friend Bullock. “We work similarly — we think sets should be fun,” he said. “We have a good time and try to do our job and not make everyone else miserable along the way.”
Guests at the “Gravity” lunch also included the film’s producer David Heyman and co-writer Jonas Cuaron; actors F. Murray Abraham, Candice Bergen, Kyle MacLachlan and Oliver Platt, and television personalities Dr. Mehmet Oz and Piers Morgan.
After “Gravity” opens nationwide Friday, Clooney plans to travel to London next week to score his new film, “The Monuments Men,” which he wrote and directed, fresh off his Best Picture Oscar last year for “Argo,” which he produced along with Grant Heslov, and Ben Affleck.
“The Monuments Men,” based on the book by Robert M. Edsel and Bret Witter, tells the true story of a special force of art historians and curators who risked their lives during WWII to recover and prevent the destruction of art treasures considered “degenerate” by Hitler and the Nazis.
After watching videos of his father, veteran journalist and television host Nick Clooney, online, it was uncanny to meet the younger Clooney again in person. He made use of that resemblance in “The Monuments Men.” “It’s funny, I have my father playing me as an old man,” he said.
The actor is also currently filming “Tomorrowland” with director Brad Bird (“a knockout of a guy,” he said) in Vancouver. “I’m doing everything right now,” Clooney acknowledged of his full schedule, “but it’s good fun.”

We kinda knew he was going to be in the movie when he took the trip to be on set. However that's great that he's playing an older version of George's character. He's a wonderful son.
