So, it's been weeks since they were in the same country. Has the romance of the century petered out? Is it over between George and Betty?

I'm the same, Lucy. How many times have we called time on this relationship and then they're together again? Perhaps this time we may really be lucky.

I'm trying to think of past form for breakups: with Lisa we knew because of the article I posted a couple of days ago where she burst into tears at the Cannes film festival and then shortly after there were all these stories of George hooking up with women in New York bars and wherever else he was.

With Sarah Larson it was an article in In Touch (or one of those gossip mags.

With Krista of course there was nothing because he never dated her. Ahem.

I wonder how he'll handle it this time?

1. It's over because of scheduling conflicts. 2.She talked to much in interviews. 3.She wants more than he can give.

He does like to have a girlie for his birthday though so if he finishes his movie and she finishes her 'whatever' and stops saying 'mean' things about him IF she is saying them.....she may be joking and it's coming across badly....

The seperations have gotten longer and longer and we saw a couple of pics over Christmas that had been a first for a couple of months. I think it is over but it won't be official till they are ready. After San Remo maybe. He had broken up with Lisa right before his 40th birthday first time around so him having a birthday doesn't mean Eli will be there. They may have both been in LA a few weeks ago but they weren't seen together. This is what happened with him and lisa and Sarah and Krista. The separations get longer then finally the break is made official. Although Sarah's was a little differant cause she didn't seem to take the hint and Stan made the announcement then came the stories George stood over her while she packed etc. But you could see it coming for miles! The real problem I see is that Eli doesn't want it over so she will hang on for dear life and it could be up to Stan again.

Stan, the man, will come to the rescue!!

I thought Lisa was there for his 40th birthday? Wasn't that one of his ouch! moments because Renee was there too?

I feel for Stan. He must be sick and tired of having to do the dirty work because his client is too damn weak to get rid of the girlfriend. What's wrong with George that he can't break up with someone himself?

There was a story about George hosting a birthday party for Renee I think and Lisa was there but she spent most of the time outside smoking because George was making a big fuss of Renee..parading her around the room...

He flew Lisa to Amsterdam when they were filming O12...wasn't that for a birthday....then she was in Italy and the US for a while too...

Maybe she will just stay in LA if they are going to the oscars it would make the most sense. Although I feel we will be seeing something sooner rather then later.

Actually Antidiva made a good point on IMDb: she said that as Betty only had one day for her grandmother's funeral, she may have gone home to support her parents and grieve.

Well we now Know the whole antidiva theory is wrong,but one could only hope Bettabuns is made of sweeter,kinder stuff,not just about me-me-me!!!!!

We don't. We're only going by what the article above said.

I doubt he is going to show up. Not while he is working and with no movie to promote I dont see it. Also why would only this one source know? ET hasn't mentioned it and they are all about George.

LOL, they must have talked to EC.

Newsweek did an interview with George and that's where we got that information from.

Did George tell Newsweek that he was going or did the writer just assume he will be? Who knows? I think most people assume that George goes every year and would be surprised to hear that he doesn't so it's very possible that the writer just added that bit.

It's also possible that the interview was done a few weeks ago and at the time George had been thinking about going to the Oscars.

That is possible but there is no sign of him on any of the presenters lists and no one besides this source has said anything. Eli would of course love to go but I think she will have to watch it on telly this year. Maybe she will go run to George this weekend she may need some new pics for the mantle! It has been awhile.
