Sadly I think Ive seen Batman and Robin over a dozen times, for some reason my 7 year old thinks George Clooney is the best batman ever, but I think my son loves it more cause he is sharing something that Mummy is into, namely our George. He now has our 3 year old hooked on that one batman movie. And not to bring another Aussie down but if I don't have to see Elle McPherson again in another movie, it wont be soon enough!!

Re: July Chit-Chat
I was looking through the Casamigos site when I saw a post by what looks like a child (probably 12 years old tops). She posted a horrible story about how Bloody Mary got its name. So I asked myself the following:
A) what is someone so young doing using facebook
B) why is her profile not protected, ie. I was able to see the lovely (not) selfies she takes in her bathroom mirror.
C) What on earth is she doing posting on a site that advertises alcohol
D) Why don't her parents know about this, or do they and they don't care?
I know shes not my child and its not my business but it really ticked me off. Every single wrong person in the world can see this girls profile, and where she lives for goodness sake and they know she apparently likes Casamigos tequila??
Sorry about my rant, it just left me a tad ticked off.

Re: July Chit-Chat
It's really sad that in this day and age, parents are so clueless that they think if their children are playing quietly in front of the computer (used to be the tv that was the in-house babysitter!) that they are safe and everything in the world is good, never realizing the danger for them on the internet.
Taking an interest in what your children are doing would make it a safer place for them, but most parents are too busy to notice or to even give it a thought! If the kids are quiet...all is as it should be in their minds. I bet they would freak out if they realized what you did about their little girl's FB page and yet I'm going to go out on a limb and say they aren't even aware of the danger their child is in right at this moment, posting unattended and vulnerable to any predator.

Re: July Chit-Chat
It is really quite weird sometimes where Chit Chat goes, I was only talking to a girlfriend this evening and she told me that she had discovered her son had managed to 'Hide' his FB page from her as she monitors it. She did manage to track it through a cousin needless to say he is now completely banned from the computer at home and as she keeps a pretty tight reign on him his access out of the house is going to be very limited and he is 17 years old. Just goes to show if you really care there are ways of finding out what your child is up to,

When I saw the post on Casamigos I thought Id click on her name to see what happens, now Im just an overly concerned Mum, but what if I wasn't harmless, what if I was a predator like Lighterside said. I am astounded. Its like some parents want their children to hurry and grow up too fast. Its sad

Chrildren use the internet so well as they are not scared to do something wrong or feel the danger. They have no inhibition like adults. And adults/parents most of them couldn't catch up quick enough with the technology today. Even I have a problem how to use an iphone. Am I too blond or just not smart enough. But well children are always smarter....

Re: July Chit-Chat
Is it just me that finds this situation ridiculous, that you can be hired, be a stellar employee for 10 years, then suddenly be deemed too attractive and legally fired.
http://www.news.com.au/business/worklife/melissa-nelson-fired-for-being-8216irresistible8217/story-e6frfm9r-1226681340800
THE Iowa Supreme Court has stood by its ruling a dentist acted legally when he fired an assistant because he found her too attractive.
Melissa Nelson, 33, worked for James Knight for a decade. However despite being a stellar employee she was fired in 2010 after Mr Knight, who is married, felt she was too attractive and he was worried he would have an affair.
Ms Nelson sued on the grounds of sex discrimination but the case was dismissed by the Iowa District Court, who ruled such firings do not count as illegal sex discrimination because they are motivated by feelings rather than gender.
Ms Nelson appealed the case, but the Supreme Court upheld the view that an employee "may be lawfully terminated simply because the boss views the employee as an irresistible attraction," The New York Times reports.
Ms Nelson, who was two decades younger than Mr Knight, was replaced by another woman; Knight had an all-female staff.
It's the second time the case has been considered, with the all-male court issuing their revised opinion last week after their earlier decision in December due nationwide criticism.
Nelson's attorney, Paige Fiedler, had asked the court to reconsider in January, calling the decision a blow for gender and racial equity in the workplace.
She warned the opinion could allow bosses to legally fire dark-skinned blacks and replace them with light-skinned blacks or small-breasted workers in favour of big-breasted workers.
The court had only granted reconsiderations five times in the last decade.

We had a glorious Winters Day, 23 degrees, however all changed and a wild windy storm came through and then it was freezing again. Oh well. That's winter in Australia, all over the place.
Hoping my relatives in the UK are okay too, as when it was 17 degrees they thought that was a lovely warm day??

Unfortunately it happens often and the unfairly dismissed employees cannot contest it, unless they have some proof of unwanted advances. Not under the clause above. Usually victimized & harassed.
But that ruling in Iowa is beyond ridiculous and should be taken to an even higher court hearing.

Silly - girl - you must watch Under the Dome, so far its been good, seen 4 episodes. I read the entire book in 4 nights on my IPOD, it was about 5000 little pages. So loved the book, enjoy the TV series even if its not the same as the book in many ways.

Re: July Chit-Chat
I got a phone call this morning from a man wanting to know if George was here. I had so many responses instantaniously flash through my mind that all I coauld do was ask him to repeat himself. Like:
"No, but I wish he was."
"No, but when you find him tell him that Ive been looking for him also."
"Yes, but I wore him out last night and he's still asleep."
You get the drift!
It's always nice to start one's day off with a smile

Another courageous girl, though for different reasons
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2013/07/22/05/47/girl-11-speaks-out-over-her-forced-marriage
An 11-year-old Yemeni girl has spoken out after running away from her family before they forced her into an arranged marriage.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a video released on LiveLeak, Nada Al-Ahdal said she was forced to flee and live with her uncle after she was promised to another man.
"They told me that I am engaged, and that my fiancé had already paid them money and brought the engagement ring," Nada tells the camera.
"They said that I couldn't leave and even threatened to kill me if I went back to my uncle."
The video was released by the Middle East Research Institute late last night, a non-profit press monitoring organisation based in the US.
The girl says a common response from child brides is to commit suicide when faced with a forced marriage.
"I'm not an item for sale, I'm a human being and I would rather die than get married at this age."
"I've decided that I have two choices: to leave or to die. So I chose the first."
The video is quickly going viral on the internet thanks to sharing through social media and websites like Reddit.
