Count Fastweb amongst the companies who, at the end of their time together with Valentino Rossi, wanted to thank the Italian rider. Now the internet company faces the problem of finding a suitable replacement for the nine time world champion.

According to rumor, however, Fastweb may have already found him: a famous American actor. Who you ask? The choice will be between George Clooney, already a spokesman for an Italian brand, and Brad Pitt.

I would really LOVE to hear him with a long paragraph, not just a few words. However, it sounded good anyway! Way to go George! I bet Gio taught him and NOT her!

Maybe he'll sign up for the next "The Bachelor". He can be paid for a few weeks of his time looking at a bevy of questionable women who want to be the one. Of course, he gets paid much more for pimping these other ads, I'm sure.

Maybe he did this ad to get back in the good graces of the Italian people before he dumps their "queen". No, I am not putting down our Italian friends.

Whats the add for? What is fastweb? Cause doesn't even use the internet so it is funny he is spruiking for it. If it is that cause honestly after watching it twice I still don't get it! Maybe I'm having a blonde day.

When this thread first came up I scoffed too, I was tempted to post that it probably depends on how many millions they were going to pay him, but it seemed so laughable at the time and the Sudan thing was happening it seemed a bit uncharitable.

I know nothing about Fastweb ( too lazy to look it up) the name suggests its a web operator but the advert looks like it might be for a company that does chauffeured hire cars?

Is this the commercial he just filmed in LA, it looks like the coat he was wearing?

Fastweb is a phone operator, there are 3 of them in Italy and Fastweb is one of them, like Tmobile. Italians love Clooney, the driver is an italian kid from Disney Channel and I think it's a cool commercial anyway He can do whatever He wants, who stops him?

From The New York Times earlier this year:

The Italian authorities this week issued arrest warrants for 56 people in connection with a 2 billion euro, or $2.7 billion, tax fraud and money-laundering investigation linked to the ’Ndrangheta, or the Calabrian Mafia.

In addition to Telecom Italia’s Sparkle unit, prosecutors are looking into the accounts of Fastweb, a broadband provider four-fifths owned by Swisscom, which bought its stake in 2007 after the incidents that set off the investigation.

The authorities contend that vendors of telecommunications services carried out bogus transactions to avoid paying value-added taxes. Some of these operations fell into a broader money-laundering operation benefiting the ’Ndrangheta, according to the arrest warrant.

Its just that that pose and the clothes remind me of another photo layout. This must have been done last summer (2010). Was his hair styled like that back then?

Dignity goes out the window when he needs cash to pay off the one night stands and to cover the expense of the 'say nice things about me only to the press' clause in his contractual kiss-off payment to the skanks when they are being removed from the payroll permanently.

That or this was George's only avenue of escape when he saw an ex-girlfriend coming towards him hoping that being seen with him in front of the paps will provide an opportunity to relaunch her career as a professional MAW.

The 'floating' manhole cover has definitely been photoshopped into the picture. Can't tell about George - the lighting gives him such a sharp outline that it also looks like he's ben put into the picture, but it's hard to tell.

Down a sewer in a cheap leather jacket and seriously nasty looking tie flogging some network service is still infinitely better than looking smug in some 'boutique' sipping hypocritical coffee.

Caged - I am so with you. There is a Nespresso store in the city that I pass everyday to go to and from work and every day I sneer at it and all the litte sheep in the store buying product because of fancy advertsiing without having any idea of the lack of ethics of the parent company that makes the product. I sure as hell won't contribute to their profits. Fastweb, as far as we know, isn't in the same boat.

Dubbed, so ... his Italian DOES suck ey. Told ya so, George was babbling like a toddler in the first clip. Couldn't make anything of it. George is funny.
