Ten years ago, with The American, he had married his two loves, cinema and Italy, thanks to this film shot in Abruzzo. Before, however, there had been the purchase of the eighteenth-century Villa Oleandra, on Lake Como, and an Italian love, Elisabetta Canalis, ruler of gossip. But never had Puglia been. Between Valle d'Itria, and down towards the coast (single-tube), the news in these days ferments, passes from mouth to mouth, is enriched with details: George Clooney is about to arrive, days, a few days, on his own, without his wife Amal Ramzi Alamuddin. Puglia will know how to welcome the American actor - announced, to be honest, even two years ago, never actually revealed, but anyway -, with that ability to embrace without suffocating (especially in the summer when people say hello to "Elbows") demonstrated in these years of contiguity with special guests, very special. Like her, the queen and Oscar winner Helen Mirren in her now legendary farm in Tiggiano, in Salento, testimonial of excellence, environmentalist, in love with us and with what we carry as a dowry thanks to a land essentially unknown only up to a decade ago and still capable - at times, unfortunately -, to deliver himself to those who come as close as possible to the ancient root. This is not a summer like any other, the roads do not overflow, the beaches do not exude, not yet. It is a slow summer and, therefore, particularly heavenly for those who have made it their life partner by being monitored.

Puglia, in spite of everything, has started to defend itself from the end of the confinement with its introduction of celebrities on its territory, many will come, but the count has already begun. Ronn Moss, the Ridge of Beautiful, in the tenth anniversary of his discovery of Polignano a Mare, returns constantly and constantly looks for the farm of his dreams. In the meantime, he is staying at the Canale di Pirro and at the end of the summer he starts shooting his film Viaggio a surprise. The Itria Valley, the most popular for a smooth transition from lockdown to the isolation of the trulli, silently guards many VIPs (many in Borgo Egnazia). Aurora Ramazzotti, daughter of Eros and Michelle Hunziker, is instead a guest of Anna Dello Russo in Cisternino, in her trulli, great attractors, as is Tania Missoni's Tenuta del Lauro, in Locorotondo. Going south, the Salento (in particular Torre del Pizzo in Gallipoli), continues for years to receive the holidaymaker Gianni Morandi with the inseparable wife Anna Dan, who photographs him in his strong itinerant attitude: he was a guest of Al Bano in Cellino San Marco, immortalized in Alberobello, Martina Franca, Lecce, even in Altamura. In Galatina the singer Giorgia has a home (spotted in these days for a walk), in Marittima, for years, her mansion, Serena Dandini. In Lecce, in addition to the workaholic Morandi, the actor Claudio Santamaria, but also his colleague, Ferzan Ozpetek's fetish actress, Serra Yilmaz, just left, took a tour.

Polignano a Mare deserves a special mention this year, where in addition to Santamaria and Pippo Inzaghi, the President of the Chamber Roberto Fico, in Cala San Giovanni, chose to spend relaxing days. Many are here, these days for the possible book festival, many will stop. A few days ago Luisa Ranieri has been in Monopoli, with the TV version of the adventures of Commissioner Lolita Lobosco, from the thrillers of Gabriella Genisi, co-producer her husband Luca Zingaretti. Passage in Puglia, in his homeland, also for the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte: he was in San Giovanni Rotondo, he stretched up to Manfredonia. I guess the travel industry is trying to drum up business for when the bans are lifted. I'm sure there are tons of people who can't wait to start traveling again.
