That video is awesome! Thanks for posting.
"Are you crazy? A 55 yr old man and George Clooney are two different things!"
"Have you seen his boat and his house and his money?"
There you have it ladies and germs... the young women of America really know what makes a man attractive. His boat, his house and his money!
Lucky George, the older he gets the younger and shallower his girlfriends will get!
Brahahahaha!

JoanieJD wrote:Poor George. Can't somebody just love him for himself? What if he didn't have any of the things in his life right now? How many women would act the way they do? He is a very kind person does many great things, is so good looking and smart that I would have liked him under any circumstances.
But what if George had not become a success in Hollywood? What if he had worked for years and years and had no success? Someone else had gotten the Dr. Ross part on ER? What if he had not done Ocean's 11?
There are many good looking men in Hollywood who never made it - who never clicked. What if he had become bitter and unkind? Would his looks have made a difference?
BTW - I'm not disagreeing with you that he's a nice guy and from I've seen is a very kind person, just musing if things had not gone his way if he would have been a different person and perhaps not so likeable.

oh , really if you was at work someday and met guy "GClooney " but he wasn't an actor or even famous and you have no idea who he is and liked you and wanted to ask You Out On A Date? you wouldn't like it ????????
you imply that normal people , not famous doesn't have chance for love and happiness of life or that you never saw happy couples with big age difference without big sum of money in their life ?i have seen and would accept it.clooney is still working hard to be the cool , handsome , successful guy that's not for granted .it all depends on him !

Re: Would George Cloney still be so popular even if he weren't The George Clooney?
Aly if you're speaking to my post then I'd have to answer -- no I would not go out with him. See my point is that it doesn't matter how good looking a person is (at least to me). If a man IS NOT kind, if he is bitter and if he feels that life has given him a raw deal then NO it would not matter how good looking he was, I would not go out with him.
And, yes, there are younger/older couples who are happy. I just find there are not as many "normal" couples as you call them i.e. couples where neither of the partners is rich who have that much of an age difference and who are happy or still together. I speak from family experience too.
My comments also were specific to what the gal in the video said. She specifically said that the reason she finds George attractive despite he being "55" is because as SHE said, "Have you seen his boat, his house and his money?"
Too many of our younger generation values monetary success more than whether a person is kind or not. JMO

but i think GC is Kind sort of ......!and if he didn't became Hollywood Mega Superstar he would still have his great personality which what making everybody in Hollywood want to be friendS with or linked to him "with no sleeping with him or benefiting from it", am i right? or just everyone in Hollywood his colleagues actors ,producers , directors are liars they consider GClooney superhuman not because he's wake up for weeks but because of his smartness /kindness!
that would be a catch even he is not famous actor ! at least for me .
and from my life experience younger women can love older guys without 'em having millions of money if they felt respected , loved and appreciated. they would be happy with a good person !.
"i Know that GClooney is not kindest man alive but he is Good ,IMO and like every mankind have his bad times"

I think george is a very special man. Not too many of our stars seem to have his deep genuine kindness, love of mankind and down to earth personality. I have worked with this man in films, and he is just a nice and funny person. He has a great sense of humor and he is a very likeable person. A very successful man, with a lot of love to give to someone who appreciates him and not just for his money and fame. As famous as he is, he still seems to be searching for the right one. Love to work with you again George, and god bless you always, Love, barbar garabedian

Re: Would George Cloney still be so popular even if he weren't The George Clooney?
If George had managed to maintain his character, his humour, his charisma, then I think despite not being rich or famous he'd still be pretty popular with the ladies.
By all accounts he had no problem getting women when he was an unkown.
That said, I'm pretty appalled by what the other TMZ "journalist" said. What it boiled down to is: 'Yes, he's an old man, but look at how rich he is so it's ok to sleep with him'. This is George's life at the moment.
Will there ever be anyone who could love him for himself? Hard to answer because George as a person and George the millionaire movie star are so closely linked that nobody could ever separate them.
I'll leave the last word to that lovely ex of his, Sarah Larson, who was quite clear that if George had been a reality TV celebrity then she'd never have dated him.

Re: Would George Cloney still be so popular even if he weren't The George Clooney?
You know, this question, or rather, this truth, has been on my mind ever since the article where Stacy is quoted as saying "I love him!" and then the TMZ video above. My first, and lasting, thought was, "Would you 'love him', be with him, if he were a janitor? a construction worker? even a business exec? A resounding NO! Stacy would not have given George the time of day. She's enamored with hiim because of his fame and money and influence - what he can do for her, and that, my friends, is NOT love.
Oh, I'm sure she likes George. How could you not like him, he's so charming and kind and irrepressible and funny. But had she met him on the street, it would have been a different story.
I know I'm stating the obvious here, preaching mostly to the choir, but it just feels good to get it off my chest because for whatever reason, it's been stuck in my craw for a couple days. My craw feels better now.

Well, even if George decided to stay in Cincinnati, he probably would have been either a sports newscaster, or have a TV job that focused on sports, since he is such a sports buff. Since he was Nick Clooney's son, I would bet that some chicks here would go affer him just because of his Clooney connection.
From what I have heard around here from people, is that, while George was growing up here, the other kids would either like or hate him all because of him being Nick's son. He didn't have too many real friends all because of that. That is the main reason he went to Hollywood, so that he could carve out his own identify, and be known for something other than Nick's son.

I just can't/don't agree with your theory ladies ....sorry , what you are saying can be in Alec Baldwin case , Playboy guy or in some ugly producer case.
that's not the way most of women seeing G ,why HE gets all the screams from the ladies "women /young girls" on the red carpets for his films and on every film festivals, absolutely have nothing to do with his money or his power they like him in person and it's not only cuz he is famous but for them he is a hot guy too and have funny personality made him on of the best celebrities !
Believe me the look of happiness on EC and SK walking hand in hand with GC had nothing to do with his money they were absolutely INTO HIM ,maybe for SL was a bit like that and loved his money more than him ,but the others NO .or why EC was so Jealous about G ,if it was a money thing she wouldn't be affected like that from his females co stars? !!!!!
seriously some advice for TMZ blond girl go befriend Stacy if you think it's really great to benefit from that without DA WORK lol, and the other girl you should try too yourself you might get to go to Como and use the real boat with luxury !
again everything GC have/got wasn't won in lottery if he didn't work the right way and deserved/owed what he got , he wouldn't be the person HE IS now it depends on him not the circumstances ... period.

George would have loved even if it were not famous, he would be loved by women because it's cute, handsome, charming but also has charisma. He was loved by fellow workers even if he were a plumber, journalist or a baker. Surely he's not the actor would not be famous all over the world but he would still be famous in a smaller circle because he has charisma!

George would be high on my popularity list even if he weren't rich. For me the most attractive thing about him is his kindness to those not as fortunate as him. That makes him aces in my book. Considering the caliber of single dudes out there his generosity sends him over the edge.

Were he not famous this board would not exist and we would not be aware of his activities. His personality and charm, while natural to him, has also been shaped by his success. He has said that it is his fame that enables him to draw attention to the causes he supports. His looks would be the same with or without his star status. I think women would still be drawn to him, but certainly not in the same magnitude they are now. For some women it is very difficult to separate the glitz from the human being. Maybe the up side of not being famous would be the time to develop a meaningful relationship with a women.

Very well and simply put bluebelle - if he were not famous there would only be a small group of fortunate people who would be aware of him. In spite of what some say I think this world is a little better place with him in it.

Re: Would George Cloney still be so popular even if he weren't The George Clooney?
I agree ladies that G is head and shoulders above most men in terms of charisma and likability. My point is that Stacy and his other 'starlet' wannabe gfs would not have given him a second glance if he were a butcher or a baker or a candlestick maker. No doubt in any vocation, any life circumstance, he would've been popular - both with men and women.
Stacy Keibler has proven the type of man she would pick - that Geoff / Greg Stutts or whatever his name is. She was with him for 5 years without much public attention bolstering the union. I would almost lay money on a bet that, given George's age, she would not have sought or agreed to a relationship with him apart from his fame, money and status. So to claim that she loves him.....well, should a scandal befall George like it did John Travolta, it would be interesting to see how deep and enduring her love truly is.......just sayin'.

Just my opinion of course but if he was in any type of business other than show business he wouldn't have access to entertainers like he has now. But given his career and apparently his life choice I think he prefers life the way it is now. I'm sure whatever profession he chose he would be the best. He could be an aging businessman with a wife and maybe a couple of kids. LOL

He would still be equally popular even without moviestar status. He has those endearing qualities such as friendliness, kindness, humor and energy that make it easy to be around him. He was born an Extrovert. That personality trait would be essential for that competitive, moviestar marketing gig that he has to do for his profession. I am sure he gets on the guest lists to many parties, because he is one of those key people who will get even the quietest person in the room to talk. That's a real gift to get someone to open up.
Probably like a brain puzzle for him or some kind of crazy bet...but, I think he has a very inquisitive mind by nature which is no wonder since he shares the same birthdate as Dr. Sigmund Freud. People, their personalities and their behaviors are very interesting, indeed.
I think his moviestar status keeps him very busy. I am exhausted just thinking about the amount of travel that is involved with his profession. I think he hasn't "settled down" with a significant other, because the timing isn't right. I think he cares about getting it right.
I don't think he wants to be accused of being the "disappearing husband/father" because he is occupied with his movie work, etc. I think he has of vision of real financial, as well as, geographical stability and security in mind so that he will have the freedom to have boat loads of quality time with his significant other, family and friends. I sense this is very important to him.

True compatibility depends on shared values and goals, as well as physical chemistry. If G is picking girls, as the reporter states, that desire him because of "his toys" and fame, then I question why he makes those decisions.

Sometimes you are very observant and logical. Please clarify "the timing isn't right." Life will never be perfect, and you can die waiting for things to be different.

Sometimes you are very observant and logical. Please clarify "the timing isn't right." Life will never be perfect, and you can die waiting for things to be different.
Davidarochelle, don't you think Clooney would have "settled up" already if it felt right? I thought men do the proposing of these "settling" types of situations. He is a born extrovert. I would have thought this would be a "no brainer" type situation for Clooney. Ask Clooney. Does he even know what his favorite beer is? I am thinking at 50 there would be great clarity and no settling for what didn't feel right.

Geez we seem to be having a nature vs nurture debate going on here.
Would George be wanted only based on his looks? Nature?
Or do women want him because of what he has achieved? Nurture. Okay maybe stretching that part but that's what came to mind from reading the differing opinions in the posts.
In the alternate Star Trek universe where George is the bad "Kirk" would he have so many women wanting him?

But Cindigirl - what if he wasn't kind? What if he was like Jeremy Piven always treating food servers badly? Or trying to get into clubs using the infamous "Don't you know who I am man?" line?
What if George was just an all around asshole? Good looking, but an asshole? Would you still like him? See that's the point I've been trying to make.
Would his looks be enough if he was an ass?
Would him having money be enough if he was an ass?
I agree with you - the George we've read about (cause frankly most of us have not spent any time with George to really know) like him because of who he is - his personality as reported by those who know him, report about him and have worked with him.
But would we think differently if he didn't give a shit about Sudan, or hadn't put together two telethons for charitable relief? Or if he only spent his free time snorting blow and partying for days at a time? Could he be a Charlie Sheen and totally screw up and still keep his fans? Would his looks have been enough?

Stacy wouldn't be the first woman in history to have her head turned by the glamour and seduction of fame and money. Having said that, I believe George is a good person, likeable and with many positive traits so there's no reason why she shouldn't think she loves him.
I know it's easier to think that she's only all about the money and fame and doesn't care for him at all because that way it's easier to dislike her, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that she genuinely thinks she loves him and cares for him deeply.
The only way to prove if she really did was to see how she'd behave if he weren't rich and famous but obviously there's no way of doing that.
As so many here have pointed out, there's a lot about George that's loveable, over and above his money and fame. Who's to say she doesn't find him attractive, maybe even loves him? Others do.

ladydi wrote:George grew up in the entertainment business. He knew how to sell his image with his good looks and charisma. Yes, he is a good actor, but he is definitely a great showman on the red carpet and in interviews.
LD i agree with you,... only i think you can not sell something that it didn't exist in first place ,he may be very skilled in how he sells/presents him self for the public through anything "mags, interviews etc, etc, etc...."and aware of many tricks in the showbiz ,
it just the thought taken about him can't be completely fake,
if he wasn't the real good person and if it wasn't really in him and have good heart , it won't show by anyhow not for that long not everyone dealt with him in person would bought it and actually many did ,he can't be acting in his real time life all the time that can't be.!
even too many actors had man crush on him say is hot ,gr8 ,phenomenal guy. !

Hi back Melbert!
One thing I can say is that Nick and Nina raised him well. They are the ones who taught him the importance of taking care of others.

Lorna, I thought I was pretty clear about the reasons I like him. His kindness to others less fortunate and that includes how he treats everyone.

I think George would still be very popular - he seems very affable, naturally, and he'd still be as handsome! Maybe his teeth wouldn't be as perfect.....
I do wonder how - or IF - not being a celebrity would change his dating habits. If any of our male friends, in their 50's were continually dating younger women, and those types of women, we probably wouldn't have a very favorable impression of them...and then, probably wouldn't be very good friends...

Hot picture, IM.
Cindi, I agree with you. George is a handsome man with a great
personality and heart. Him being an actor/celebrity is just an extra,
IMO.
