Insiders tell Deadline that the May 10th fundraiser at George Clooney’s Malibu home has sold out for $6 million and raised over $4 million for the accompanying raffle. But is this Hollywood fundraising giving red meat to Republicans starting to lambast Obama as the ‘Celebrity President’?

On Saturday, Clooney told the Wall Street Journal that his fundraising dinner, co-hosted by Obama bundler Jeffrey Katzenberg and organized by his political right-hand Andy Spahn, would raise $10 million for the president’s re-election. “Which is about double anything that’s ever been done before,” Clooney explained to the WSJ at the White House Correspondents Dunner. George has a home in Malibu? Since when? See this is what makes me think it's going to be held at Katzenburg's house and not George's house.

Given that this is a Deadline Hollywood report I think Nikki knows where George lives and this is the first I've heard he has a house in Malibu.

About I want to say two years ago I read on a celebrity real estate site that George was looking for a house in Malibu. Now it never said he bought one though.

For all the money George is raising for Obama, and if he is reelected, he should appoint G. to a cabinet position. maybe Secretary of Charming & Sexy! lol.

According to Hollywood Reporter many are disillusioned by Obama, but dislike the right-wing pull of the Republican Party. The conservative and tea party wing are trying to push for a "Sarah Palin-type" Vice-Presidential Candidate. The entertainment industry is typically economically conservative and socially liberal; open-minded and accepting of other's differences. G is the well-known face of Hollywood, fronting those with very deep pockets and power.
