Don't know about G's cheating history but I have known people in positions of power with big bank accounts. It is often difficult for them to trust. They often feel that the friends they had prior to their success are the only ones they believe in. It is hard to know if someone new who wants a friendship has a hidden agenda. Maybe G chooses the women he does because it's obvious to everyone what the game plan is. Perhaps it just makes things easier.

I agree that a man or woman that has cheated more then likely will again if given the chance. I think George has a lot of chance's. IMO

Henway, Lorena Bobbitt became famous for cutting off her husband's "favorite part" and throwing it out the window for the firemen/paramedics to come find. It was later found and reattached, and worked well enough for John Wayne Bobbitt to star in a porno. His next girlfriend also accused him of domestic (sexual) abuse. Lorena didn't use a kitchen knife on her husband because he cheated, but because when she repeatedly turned him down for being very drunk he tried to rape her. I believe John Bobbitt was sent to anger management school. Davida-Rochelle

Some men are serial cheaters Donald Trump has cheated on every wife so far and I doubt he has changed. I think it's the money cause he sure has no looks. George on the other hand is rich and good looking so he would have even more women throwing themselves at him. Men tend to think more with what's between their legs then their brains at the best of times. There have been rumours of George cheating for years but I think he can be faithfull it's when things are turning bad he checks out and goes off and finds someone new.
I remember Lorena I think it was a combination of his cheating and his attack it all got too much for her and she wanted to punish him in a way that would really cost him. Others have done it too because of cheating husbands and have actually made sure it can't be sewn back on! I don't think cheaters change for some it's the chase and the thrill of getting away with it. There is the odd one who learns the lesson and doesn't do it again but they seem more rare! Can you imagine how many men would lose their favourite part if every women who is cheated on cut's it off? That is a lot of dickless men walking around.....

Dexterdidit, have actually made sure it can't be sewn back on (too funny). If I were a man I wouldn't want a needle anywhere near it; there couldn't be enough "knock-out stuff."
Asking a "man's opinion" do you think guys cheat because they're missing something (physical compatibility) with their women, or because they are too selfish to say "no" to an opportunity? I can't justify it either way; it's sad if some little boys can't "grow up." Davida-Rochelle

That's what I've always posted when it was said he cheated on his GFs. I've always posted that IMHO, he may cheat when they won't believe its over. But in his mind, the relationship is over so he's just moving on to the next person.Dexterdidit wrote:There have been rumours of George cheating for years but I think he can be faithfull it's when things are turning bad he checks out and goes off and finds someone new.

Well yes. People doing 'bad things' will always justify it to themselves so that it somehow becomes a not bad thing, really.
There are very few people who say "Yes, this is a bad thing I'm doing" and leave it at that.
Instead most people may acknowledge what they're doing is wrong or hurtful and then add an explanation for why they're doing it to make it seem ok, eg: "Yes, I'm sleeping with another woman but my girlfriend and I are pretty much over and she'll never find out anyway so it's ok."
Or, as in the marvellous case of Krista Allen, deny they were ever dating in the first place.
And of course there's no shortage of women throwing themselves at rich and famous men who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the guy into bed.

Have to say that a man who cheats because in his mind his relationship is "over" has to have the balls to end it before cheating, not use it as an excuse to cheat.
Also, I don't usually agree with Dr. Phil, but I often think of his phrase: "the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior."

Yes, I agree, if a person knows the relationship is over should have the balls to end it before cheating! When I went through my divorce, I knew it was over long before the divorce happened. Did I cheat, NO. Did he cheat, not that I know of. That’s maturity. What went on between George and his ladies, we’ll never know, but I would hope he’s matured. At 50 I would be embarrassed, if I were him, if he hasn’t. Just saying…

Re: Will George Clooney ever settle down? [Stacy Keibler Mentioned]
Yes but many use it as an excuse and a way out. If they get caught the woman usually ends it and generally men doing it as an out want to get caught! I have a friend and her boyfriend cheated all the time she would end it then take it back cause he always said he "changed" guess what he didn't. Finally ended when she found out he took a friend of hers to bed who had been saving herself. He had this way of getting in your head and no matter what he did he could convince you it was your fault and you would end up saying sorry to him. It took my friend years to build up enough stregnth to finally end it once and for all. At one stage I even offered to move interstate with her so he couldn't get near her. Women do cheat too, my mother cheated on my dad, he was away working a lot and even though she had 5 kids still managed to find the time to cheat her thought was that my dad probably was so why shouldn't she? I think George at some stage has and may off even been cheated on himself I know that was the rumour with Celine.

"Just moving on to the next person", that is fine if he makes sure to tell the currant GF in no uncertain terms "it is over and I'am moving on" problem is it seems as if George just drops hints and doesn't actually say the words out loud and to his currant GF for months, IMO.
DEX, good for your friend for finally freeing herself from the S.O.B., how many years of her life she must of wasted on a jerk!

IMO George will finally settle down when he's ready to. He doesn't stay in one place long enough to work on a real relationship. His true girlfriend would have to be like an "assistant" who travels with him.
AND BTW Ms. Bobbit is my hero. She and the lady in the 'Burning Bed' movie who set her husband on fire in bed. Now, why didn't I think of that? LOL

Re: Will George Clooney ever settle down? [Stacy Keibler Mentioned]
Not everyone expects sexual fidelity in Hollywood. Your career usually means you are not working in the same state or even the same country for weeks at a time. Like in the military partners often have an "understanding" and create their own rules regarding sexual limits. We should not criticize G by our own expectations. Also we don't know if there were serious issues of physical incompatibility or extreme demands placed on him by his earlier partners that motivated him to run into the arms of another girl. I'm not saying his actions were mature or correct. But is it "cheating" if he communicates his intentions? And maybe the girls are realistic and privately accept the situation but publicly say something very different. I know that many ladies are glad when they're husbands get mistresses so that they don't have to do "certain things sexually" for their husbands. Davida-Rochellle

Re: Will George Clooney ever settle down? [Stacy Keibler Mentioned]
And you're saying this like you know for a fact that George runs around like a crazed school boy… I don’t believe it. I know what it’s like when you’re sowing your oats but after the oats have been harvested, you chill. I think, because of his “monogamy” stories of late, he’s chillin’. I know some of you would prefer him to sleep around a lot and would hope he would choose a woman that would allow him to do so but, I don’t see that happening either. Think of it this way… Most of his friends are in serious relationships that means marriage… And you’re trying to say that George would bring a “free thinking” woman into a well-rounded group of people… I don’t see it! Sorry!

Then they are in the wrong relationship from the beginning. If your partner is into something you are not they are not the right partner, that would not be a loving a nurturing relationship. I feel there has to be understanding and comfortable compromise in a relationship. For a married man to get a mistress, and there wife to allow it, well then I guess they deserve to be unhappy and walked all over. These women need balls. I do not need a man by my side, I am luck I guess to say I have a partner by my side, if it was just sex I wanted I would turn to B.O.B. who is ready to go whenever I am and for as long as I am.

Re: Will George Clooney ever settle down? [Stacy Keibler Mentioned]
I hope this won't sound off topic but there has been so much criticism of G lately both here and elsewhere that I feel that I must explain what I meant in earlier posts. I met a roadie with Jon BonJovi whose long singing career I admire. I said that I admired his long marriage. The roadie replied that with long absences abroad and beautiful women throwing themselves at you, his wife had to accept certain realities. He said it was wrong for me to project my expectations of a loving relationship onto someone in a different situation. He did say that things would one day be different for them, and Jon would realize how empty his life had become. Yes some men never grow up and "Middle America" will always criticize their behavior when we don't know the circumstances. At least G is honest, and I believe the girls that date him choose a different morality. And I don't feel the average man would act at kind to SK as G actually is, considering the "faux-mance" situation. Has G sent her mother flowers recently? Davida-Rochelle

Henway, you are a very modern woman. I have never been married or lived with a man. But I cannot tell you the number of women I have met who are the ones who walk all over a man. Especially in Hollywood and Las Vegas, they see men as "prizes" to trap. And the more attractive and wealthy the man the worse it is. So many times I have heard from a woman that the best form of birth control once married is to "say no." Can you imagine how rejected their husbands must feel? Davida-Rochelle

As for the criticism of George, he is not a god he is a human being with flaws. There is always critism about George weather about film making, relationships, lifestyle and fashion sense do not go searching out for him if you are not ready to handle the criticism.
back to topic at hand- I believe it was Loiuselane that said NO! and I agree, in 10 years I will re evaluate my thoughts and where George is at in his life, but I think it will still be NO!

Will George ever settle down? Yes and no. He's as settled as he's ever going to get and IMO he's fine with his life the way it is.
It's only his fans who insist he can't be happy and must be lonely the way he lives.
He isn't doing anything wrong and isn't hurting anyone so no harm, no foul.

Exactly. He isn't exactly lonely and he likes doing things his own way. At this stage in his life this is how he wants to live he may change when he get's older or he may not. George seems very happy and that is what is important. Of course it would help if he stopped looking so grumpy or strained when he is with the girl of the moment! I don't believe that George chases everything in a skirt he is too old for that and frankly I believe too lazy.

Thanks, Katie. That's what I like to hear. There is no reason that I can see for any of our posters to get so bent out of shape over George's exploits. It's as you say "He isn't doing anything wrong and isn't hurting anyone so no harm, no foul" Why not just accept that he's not like us, marches to a different drummer, and sings a different song.
We all know his "girls" are all temporary, he doesn't have a harem, and is it really cheating if he chooses to bang another girl while with whoever he's with. Hell, if he wasn't in the "Public Eye", would you know or even care? He's a celebrity, not God.

Pattygirl I agree with what you are saying!
My comment was to Davidarochelle who said-
Especially in Hollywood and Las Vegas, they see men as "prizes" to trap.
I was referring to that.
Some times to me people that base their life’s on Las Vegas and Hollywood standards that we are led to perceive need to look around and get a real look at reality. She is making it sound like to me that Hollywood and Las Vegas only have nothing but gold digging bitches and women allowing themselves to be walked over by letting their husbands have mistresses. When in fact everywhere you go there will be women and men like this, but that does not mean all are. As for the mad men era I guess I could have reference the cave men era instead, when men supposedly dragged there women around by the hair, I was just trying to find a reference. The mad men era had some good things going for it, do not take me wrong, but there is nothing like the present.
I hope I made my self clear me and my mighty key board do not always find the correct words. My brain and finger tips do not always connect.

Re: Will George Clooney ever settle down? [Stacy Keibler Mentioned]
Hen, Sorry, I didn't get your point right away. Read it over twice and then responded. We all have a case of connectivitis at times, also CRS where correct words are needed.
It's sad that anyone would group any area's women in such a general way. Yes, there are gold diggers out there as well as mistresses and those women stupid enough to allow them to exist in their husbans' lives. They sure as hell exist all over, but there are more strong women, sure of their selves and of their place in life. They stand tall, beside their partners, not being demeaned, or dragged around by the hair (figuratively speaking).
Sent you a PM, did you get it?

George has a "double-sided" personality. He will go the extra mile for anyone who needs his help, rescue the damsal in distress, and be a good friend, yet, he will party and sleep with a string of girlfriends. He does not want to be involved with a "good girl," because he does not want to hurt her by having sex with her. So, he chooses "bad girls," so he can have sex, and not really feel guilty or be judged as being selfish and cruel (In his own mind). Then, when he gets tired of them, he leaves them.

These are all part of the persona that we know as George Clooney. Some accept him as he is, some keep wanting to change him into what they want him to be. He isn't perfect, he doesn't think he is. He just is who and what he wishes to be.

And all of what we "know" is what we read and deduce from all the different stories. We are probably 100% correct on a lot of things and 100% wrong on a lot of things. It's only those who know him personally that really do know him. And can't remember the exact words, but Billy Joel told us that none of us knows 100% of anyone else.

Oh-oh. Am I not being clear again, and thus getting myself into trouble? I was just trying to explain that women today have many different expectations of men and relationships. I was raised extremely old-fashioned and traditionalist, in that almost all bad behavior from a man is to be excused. I know that there are many other women in the US and the world that might want to be equal to a man but are not self-sufficient. Others see marriage more of an economic partnership than a relationship of friends. Of course there are plenty of modern women in both Hollywood and Las Vegas, and some are very focused on their careers. I'm just saying that some of the highest paying jobs girls get are based on their looks. Nightclubs pay models just to show-up and "decorate" the place. And yes, many complain about the shallowness of it all and the total lack of values. Davida-Rochelle
