ok Merlin - he hires them - for me there is no difference

he uses private planes bec he's on the way a lot and he wants to avoid that everyone is watching him reading, sleeping or eating during a flight

the last commercial flight I remember was Stockholm -> Östersund last year - I guess 30 minutes and he left the plane with Gio and Grant before all the other passengers

Also who, outside of the fanbase and outside of Italy, would actually know her full name to tweet it? I would understand it said the gf of (seeing Betts is so happy to be know as just the girlfriend of) or his Italian gf or maybe even Eli / Elisabetta but to know her full name means fan. And if the tweet is from a fan, why no picture? He has posted pictures previously. He was a designer on Project Runway so it is possible that he knew her name through the fashion / fame circles but it's unlikely. She isn't in the States enough and she really doesn't have much of a profile there. And they haven't walked a red carpet together in over six months. Maybe this guy just wants her attention so that he can sell his clothes in her store when it opens..... Smile

They could be on their way back though. It seems that the film has finished filming. But would George up and leave the next day? No end of filming party for cast and crew? No assisting the crew pack up? No last minute details to resolve? From the site OnLocationVacations.com.

Back in February I reported that George Clooney was going to spend the final day of principal photography on The Ides of March, which is currently filming in Detroit, in New York City.

According to the original shooting schedule, Ides was going to be in New York City on April 9 for one final scene which would be shot at Charlie Rose’s studio.

Tomorrow was going to be the final day of filming in Michigan, scheduled to take place in a studio, and then they would move to NYC before wrapping.

Well apparently they’ve decided to skip the trek to NYC and recreate the scene in Michigan. Apparently its easier to fly Charlie Rose to Michigan then to move the entire production to New York. (Of course my boyfriend blames the change on my earlier post, speculating that there would have been a huge crowd and he’s thinking Clooney didn’t want to deal with it, but I think George has bigger fish to fry then little ‘ol me!)

According to MichiganActing.com, they are looking for a stand-in for Charlie Rose for the movie on 4.9 in Michigan. One of our most reliable Michigan tipsters, @bananadoc, also told me that the shoot will take place in Farmington Hills.

Sorry New Yorkers, it looks like we won’t be seeing George Clooney around town anytime soon. As for those in Michigan, if you hear any further details about Saturday’s shoot let us know and we’ll pass it on, the good news is you all will get one more chance to see them filming!

Update: According to @Bananadoc they are shooting in studio at Grace and Wild.

Re: the on the street in LA pictures above - There is nothing in the video of them needing to be on the street so either there is another ad in the works that hasn't been released yet ot it was pure famewhoring for the Italian paps who just happened to catch her on the street.

I think they had the wrap party a couple of days ago - this was just the final scene and wouldn't have required the whole cast and crew. It could have been filmed in a couple of hours and then he's on his way back home.

As for Betty, we think she was in Italy a week ago. We don't know where she's been for the past 7 days though.

That said, unless the guy tweeting was flying first class and was in the private lounge I'd have doubts that he saw George and Betty. He does fly commercial on occasions - there was one mention about how he was in economy on a short hop from London to Italy or France (I can't remember which now) - but I don't think it's a common occurence nowadays. It's also possible that the lounge is used by passengers flying privately.

Good points Katie. I would actually be impressed with them if they were, for once, keeping it low key instead of pandering and parading for the paps like they do when they are in Italy or LA. Especially as the paps were covered every single day of filming.

Sidenote - Director Sidney Lumet has died. George was a huge fan of his work. We might get a comment from him in the next couple of days.

I would think with George's sense of humor he would get a kick out of getting people all stirred up over where he is, and who he's with. But if you read some of the comments made on another site re: EC ever visiting Kentucky, well it's a little scary. Maybe (if) they are together they are keeping it on the down-low, to avoid crazies!!!

sisieq agree with you,the guy would not say a lie that could easily be denied if there was a pic of clooney in another place while he was saying he was eating chips at the airport at the same time; and because he thinks to be a vip he would not take a pic of them like a teen ager or a normal fan; so he just twits that he saw them because hes excited but does not want to look too much involved IMO

The tweet may have been posted on Sunday, but "this weekend" could also mean Saturday since no specific day was mentioned.

A little off topic but I was in Studio City today and passed a guy on a bike who looked like George but as he was going the opposite direction from me I wasn't sure. I dismissed it though cause I thought he was still out of town filming. Now after reading this not so sure it wasn't him. But the guy was alone so if Eli was in LA with him AND if the guy really was George then she wasn't on the bike.

But I can't be sure as I was passing some slow poke on Laurel Canyon trying to get to my lunch appointment on time so I wasn't paying much attention. Duh!

At the twitters time its impossible to go unnoticed. They can avoid the paps but they can not avoid people to talk about them!
So I'll assume that when I don't heard, or see they together it's bc they aren't together.
Imo They fight sometimes ( I really think that they argue and fight a lot!) then go to separates ways then they fixed the things and are together again.

I just find it super hard to believe that Betty was eating burger & fries at all. All that work she puts into her body to be super skinny and then she is eating greasy, fatty junk food - and in public? A woman who parades her body the way she does, is her paycheck and realises that it is the only way that she can get press away from George, I am not really buying it. She is a portion control, long list of banned foods, hard workout every day skinny. Is she really going to eat junk after all that work she has put into her figure?

But who knows? Maybe she made the effort for George. Can't see him enjoying her skeleton frame - too easy to break her when they play.....

I am more interested in where Piero is. No Piero sightings yet.

Just 'cos they do get papped doesn't mean they like it or even want to. Sometimes they have to go through with it because it's best to keep the paps on their side.

I think it also depends on the paps. If it's a couple of photogs (and that idiot cameraman from tmz) then it's probably ok,but if it turns into a scrimmage and a horde of photogs throwing themselves at the celeb then it can get scary.

I had a great time and I thank EVERYONE for coming out! And of course, for shopping at Macy's (hello!). But then, I was off to the Detroit Metro Airport to catch my flight back to Los Angeles. Now, I thought my exciting day was over, but...after getting to the airport and checking in, I went through security and had about two hours to waste away. I decided that since I was hungry, I should get a turkey sandwich at the "Waterworks Bar & Grill" at the Delta McNamara Terminal near my gate. As soon as I was about to take my first bite, I look up, and who do I see:

George Clooney and his girlfriend, the beautiful Elisabetta Canalis! Yep, not kidding. In fact, I almost didn't notice him (gray sweater, gray pants, salt-&-pepper hair, glasses) but it was she who caught my eye. She was in jeans, black Ugg boots and sunglasses and no make-up but still, I was like "She's beautiful and...she looks familiar!!! They sat ten feet away, ordered drinks and burgers. The entire kitchen staff was tripping over themselves being all looky-loos. To make a long story short: They were both on my flight back to LA! And yes, the Delta flight attendants, pilot and co-pilot were a MESS! At one point, I wondered if anyone was flying the darn plane because they were all in the front First Class Galley acting like they needed to be there (they were just looking at Mr. Clooney, but pretending not to--it was kinda cute actually!).

It was a very "Hollywood/Celeb Sighting" ending to my fun Detroit Michigan trip. Who knows, maybe next time I visit Novi, I might see Lady Gaga!

I'm not buying the burger and fries bit or the she looks stunning without makeup because we have seen her without makeup and rarely has she looked stunning. And I agree Laetval how can he tell if she is wearing sunglasses. I am not buying that not a single other person noticed them and didn't take a picture especially if the staff were in such a flutter also 1st class staff are used to celebs in first class George wouldn't be anything new to them. It could be he saw them in the first class lounge or something but has made it bigger he aslo seems so determined to mention the name of the grill!

@Dexter I think maybe you haven't seen how people behave around major celebrities. I work in some of the best hotels in the world, ones that welcome celebs on a daily basis, but the minute a real star (Elton John, Prince, Maria Carey (sp?), Brad Pitt etc etc) comes in, the whole hotel lurches to a stop.

I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to be lurking in the lobby or hanging around the staff entrance at the back, and yet there I am, alongside chefs, waiters, room attendants and the rest all trying to stare without staring.
