Interview with Diane Sawyer at Villa Oleandra - Sept 2005

Interview at his Villa Oleandra home around the time he first bought it. It's I believe in 6 parts.

No cindi, thats not the one I'm talking about. I've seen that one several times. There was one done by Diane Sawyer (where the stills come from, the ones we've seen here). I'd seen it on youtube a while ago, but it seems to have disappeared. It was fun to watch and was a tour of the Villa.

Sorry this isn't the one you're talking about. If anyone is interested it paints a nice picture of the (before giving interviews George) and a nice look at Villa Oleandra.

I remember the Diane Sawyer interview. I saw it on YouTube not long ago. I'll look for it later. I'm on the iPad and some videos won't play on it. And I'm too lazy to go get on the pc right now.

Patty, I tried too but couldn't find the video. I did find a text of Diane Sawyer with George at his villa where he mainly talked about his back injury.

Yeah, saw that too. I think the video was taken during that time.

Thanks for trying for me. Having trouble seeing right now, everything is blurry and the ceiling light in the room died. Attached to ceiling fan and just died. Ordered a new one from Home Depot and will just have to get someone in to install it when it comes. Can't do electrical and couldn't lift it if I could.

Are your eyes blurry from the eye doctor putting stuff in them? And, lights seem to go out at the most inconvenient times.

Yeah, drops plus intense lights he uses to check for bleeders (diabetic), cataracts (baby ones), and stuff like that. When I get done with him my world is blurry and a beautiful shade of blue.
Fan has been making noise for a while, then one set of lights went, turned it up a notch and that was okay for a few days. When I went to turn it on today, that went too. Ah me, always something.

Can't complain. This ceiling fan is at least 15 yrs. old and got lots of use in that time.

Cindy, you not only made me smile, but put my mind into overdrive. Do you remember article by reporter who had George over to dinner and George ended up doing repair job on an alarm? Loved that article, would love to have George install new fan. I'm sure I could find an acceptable payment as I'm sure he wouldn't accept $$.

Blurry vision does help with visuals.

Yes, that was Joel Stein of Time Magazine. I would hope G would be better at your place than at Joel's house. The alarm ended up to be a device that just needed batteries. LOL

And, no I don't think he would accept money from you, but just your thank you would be plenty. And maybe a peck on his cheek?

I might have something that just needs batteries, too. Think I should get a few bottles of wine, he seemed to work well at Joel's and it got better after a few.

And maybe a rack of lamp. I have that video saved on my favorites. Love that video.

It used to be on Clooney Unlimited but has been deleted now sadly.

Katie, there used to be a video of Diane Sawyer of ABC interviewing him at Oleandra which included a tour of the Villa. That is where the photos were from. Was a great interview and would have loved to see it again. I guess youtube removed it, looked through entire George Clooney catalogue there, all 51 pages.

Just went through 24 pages of videos on ABC Primetime with Diane Sawyer, Nothing, Not one w/ George. Gonna keep trying though. Also, there is one even older which is a tour of Casa de Clooney. Don't remember who interviewer was, but George was giving tour and I remember his kitchen was still being updated (by him). That one is gone too, I think.

I just checked and I downloaded those clips a long time ago and then never even unzipped the files. So, of course I just opened them and watched them. The quality of the ones that show the villa aren't the greatest...they seem a little wobbly but still interesting. They show the living room, kitchen, pizza room?, a couple of bedrooms, bathroom etc, and some outside shots I had never seen before.
I"m not techy, and I have no idea how I would get them from my jump drive to here. Any suggestions in very simple, small words?

I'm glad someone is getting somewhere with this video. Thanks noodle. I'm sure this is over-simplifying this but did you try a right click on the http address at the top, copy and paste? That's what I do with my utube videos when I want to paste here.

cindigirl - I don't have an addy to type in. I downloaded them to a jump drive probably a couple of years ago. So I have to figure out how to put my own files on here I guess. Maybe I'll try to copy and paste the file name and see what happens.

I wonder if Primetime took them down because they were old and not of the best quality. I watched them today and I didn't see anything that someone wouldn't want out there. It's one of those interviews where he's at his charming best and you remember why you like him so much.
Now if I could just figure out how to get them here so you all could see them too.
