George received American Cinematheque Award in 2006
Here's the American Cinematheque Award George received which turned into a "roast." The Bonny Hunt intro begins at 2:50 and goes onto Danny Devito. You can scroll to the listing on the right to get the rest of it.
I hope and pray this is on the right thread!!!

Ellen Barkin's "speech" is on the video with Morgan Freeman on the front screen.
Try this thread if you want to go directly to Ellen's thing.

I had a ball looking through the other ones to find it!! Especially Don's and Juliana and Noah's. George was just cracking up while all three of them were talking. When watching Ellen's crap, after she makes that comment and they show George, notice the non-laughing Julia. I think she thought "now that wasn't funny". JMHO

Thanks so much, cindi. I remember seeing some of the award videos but not all. It was fun to watch and see how much George enjoyed the whole roast.
Mel, Ellen just is not a class act so you can just imagine what the initial reaction from George was (they didn't show him right away) but he did finally laugh, but there was surprise on his face, too.

Re: George received American Cinematheque Award in 2006
I'm paraphrasing a bit It's Me, but basically "I'm the only actress in this room to admit I f*cked George Clooney - just kidding - did I get ya Georgie Boy". I know most were roasting him, but I just thought it was in extremely bad taste... JMHO

No doubt. I would HOPE that George didn't "do" her. Ick!

I think she's a bit too old and worn for George's taste. Giving her that part in 13 was just Jerry's way of trying to get her back on her feet. Too bad she had to show her "appreciation" in such an unclassy and foul way. Think it'll be a while before they throw her another bone (not being dirty).

I remember Ellen Barkin in that movie Switch from, I think the 90's, She was gorgeous then but now she looks a little ragged. Supposedly she's a "good" friend of George, but I don't think they ever dated and I kind of doubt if she ever went to bed with him. LOL

As George said in his speech, most of the people in the room are his friends. And probably most of them consider themselves "good" friends as far as that goes.
