George to receive humanitarian of the year award at the Houston Film Critics Society annual awards
Almost as eagerly anticipated as the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards, the Houston Film Critics Society annual awards will be giving George a new bit of shiny stuff to go in his trophy cabinet (or hood of his car).
As far as I can see, it's taking place at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston on Saturday 18 December. It's unclear whether George will be there in person to collect the award, though. The Examiner seems to suggest he will be there, the website doesn't mention it and the Houston Film Critics' site doesn't even admit to the existence of the 2010 awards.
From The Examiner
12 December 2010
The Houston Film Critics Society will be holding its 4th Annual Year-End Awards Show this Saturday, December 18th at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston at 4:00pm. The presentation will be free and open to the public, but seating will be limited so please come early if you plan on attending.
The awards will cover what the HFCS considers the best and worst in film. The program itself will run for about 60 minutes and be filled with film clips and montages. The clip we were shown at the social last Friday was really spectacular and I'm looking forward to seeing that again along with whatever new clips make their way into the show. The Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to Sissy Spacek while a Humanitarian Award will be presented to George Clooney. A reception will be held in the museum galleries following the program.

Hope Betty has a new dress from Cavelli. Wouldn't want to break her streak of well-fitted dresses when escorting George to his awards shows. I still marvel that a designer wouldn't care about carefully fitting someone who was wearing his dress to an event where it would be publicized that he was the designer. CS

She really seems to have a hard time finding clothes to fit well. Her jeans almost always look as if they are sagging somewhere crotch, knees, butt. Dresses, well not much to talk about. IMHO she looks best when she in shorts, leggings, etc.

Mel-sorry it took so long to reply here-the holidays were wild.
No local news indicated he was here-and I guarantee they would have mentioned it.
