Ben Affleck and George Clooney proved they've got a bromance as they shared a hug to mark the end of filming for their upcoming coming-of-age drama The Tender Bar in Ipswich, Massachusetts on Wednesday.
After shooting his final scene for the movie, directed by The Midnight Sky actor, 59, screen star Ben, 48, walked towards a light blue classic convertible as he spoke to crew members.
The father-of-three - who was dressed in character as he rocked a pair of vintage sunglasses, jeans and a grey polo on set - appeared in great spirits moments later as he warmly embrace George following a busy month of work duties.

Meanwhile, George sported a black polo shirt, light-wash jeans and a protective white face mask as he oversaw the set.
Following a fun scene, which involved loading actor Max Casella's car with cases of beer, members of the cast and crew giggled amongst themselves.
The Gone Girl star later hugged a female companion, before planting a kiss on her forehead as production came to a close.

The Tender Bar is based on the 2005 memoir of the same name by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer JR Moehringer.
The story follows the author during his early years in New York City as he searches for his father while growing closer to his uncle and a group of locals at a nearby bar.
Other performers who are involved with the project include Tye Sheridan, Lily Rabe and Christopher Lloyd.
Development on The Tender Bar began in 2013 with Hidden Figures director Theodore Melfi set to helm the film, before he exited the project.

After several years of difficulties, Amazon Studios acquired the rights to the project in July 2020, with George being confirmed to spearhead the feature in December.
Ben's role was confirmed in February, with much of the rest of the cast being added last month.
The duo previously collaborated on the 2012 film Argo, on which the Leatherheads director served as a producer.
On their latest flick together, a source told PEOPLE: 'Ben is excited to be in Boston. He and George are happy to be reunited and working together again. Affleck comes prepared and ready to film. He and George are great to work with.'
Principal photography on the upcoming project began earlier this year at various locations in and around Boston, and the forthcoming film's release date is yet to be announced.

Katie, I'm not sure that it's the end of the location (tho it might be). We haven't
seen many shots at all of Tye Sheridan or the unknown lad who plays
Moehringer when he was young, tho I see him in a couple of these for the
first time.....Bound to be lots of studio work I guess.....
Oh, hang on. Have we got these?

Let's hope it's still ongoing. I'm really, really happy that this year we've been able to see so much of George. I'm dreading the return to one sighting every three months or so.

Ben & George: Hugs All Around

George Clooney has been in the Boston area the last several weeks directing The Tender Bar. Ben Affleck has been flying in to shoot mostly on weekdays and then seen back in LA on the weekends to be with his kids. Seems like Ben is now wrapped as the two were seen hugging each other warmly on set the other day and according to photographers, Ben had shot his last scene.
This looked like it was a fun set, good energy. A reader called Anna sent me this tweet of Ben waving to fans, like “hey, how you doin’” styles, who’ve been coming by to get a glimpse of Hollywood’s two biggest stars.Hey Ben, hey. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] stops to wave as he films a scene for ‘The Tender Bar’ on Maverick St. in Fitchburg.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

He looks good. Hopefully he feels good, now that it’s been almost four months since he and Ana de Armas broke up and he’s just spent some of that time working on what’s expected to be a high profile project that could contend next award season.
As you can see, in some of these shots, Ben has his arm around a woman with dark hair. The paps say at one point he “kissed her head sweetly”. It’s hard to make out what she looks like but before we go into any speculation, Matt Damon’s oldest daughter, Alexia, is a crew member on this film. That would definitely explain the affection, if indeed Ben is embracing his best friend’s daughter – it looks to me like a nice uncle’s gesture.
And besides, didn’t you hear? JLo is single now. JLo and Ben Affleck are single at the same time. For all the non-stop rumour-hoping that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston might get back together, do we have the same energy for the OG Bennifer? Think of how much joy they gave us!

I think they've broken up. I don't follow her, but I've seen headlines that they've "officially" broken up (whatever officially means - did they get a certificate or something?).

Annemarie - It's official. According to The View the engagement is off and they say "they're better off as friends". At least that's what the women on The View said. They were speculating on whether she'll give back the ring. Did she give back the ring when she and Ben broke up?

On Set with George Clooney and Ben Affleck
[/size]
Hollywood hit the streets of Ipswich with George Clooney and Ben Affleck while filming Amazon’s The Tender Bar. Outside Marcorelle’s Liquor Shop, Central Street was transported back to the ’70s, complete with authentic cars—at the wrap shoot, Ben Affleck cruised by in a classic sky-blue Cadillac convertible.
George Clooney, the director of the film, took the floor to acknowledge and give heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew, as well as greet the crowd watching from the sidelines. Clooney gave special recognition to newcomer Daniel Ranieri, a young boy from Brooklyn who was an overnight YouTube sensation when his mother filmed him talking about the COVID-19 lockdown last year.
Clooney leaned into the convertible and, with a pat on the back, encouraged the young Ranieri to stand up. Ranieri enthusiastically waved to the crowd and was applauded by cast, crew, and spectators—his contagious smile lit up the street.
Next, Clooney gave a heartwarming and humorous shout-out: “And also an honor to Boston home boy, Mr. Ben Affleck!” Affleck then exited the convertible and the two embraced as life-long friends. Raneiri also hopped out of the convertible and gave Clooney a low-down high five and was embraced by Affleck.
Affleck also took the time to speak quietly with Daniel’s mother who was on set and always close by. Affleck clearly grew fond of this young newcomer, and we look forward to seeing this cast in action with the release of the film later this year.
Nearby store owners all shared the same sentiments—that Clooney is a down-to-earth guy, very welcoming and friendly. Julie and Bud Siciliano, owners of Heart & Soul Café, were surprised to see firsthand how many people it takes to get one simple shot.
Leah Smith, owner of Marcorelle’s, said they got to meet Clooney inside their shop, and that he was an incredibly nice guy. Smith recalled when Clooney had been scouting Ipswich along with his crew, who all loved the ‘70s vibe of Marcorelle’s. Their sign is even more iconic now—it’s an Ipswich Hollywood landmark.
The Tender Bar, based on the 2005 memoir by J.R. Moehringer, tells the story of a young boy growing up on Long Island. He seeks out father figures at his uncle’s (Affleck) bar after his own father, a New York disc jockey, vanished when he was a baby. The regulars at his uncle’s bar ultimately welcome the boy, played primarily by Tye Sheridan, into their circle.
In real life, Moehringer grew up to be a newspaper reporter, winning a Pulitzer Prize for best feature writing in 2002. His memoir was adapted for the screen by William Monahan, who won an Oscar in 2007 for the adapted screenplay of The Departed.

People have been speculating that the woman with Ben is Matt Damon's daughter. I'm not so sure. Matt's daughter is 23 years old and this woman looks older than that to me.
