Amal to present Serge Magnitsky Award 2019

Amal will present the award in London tomorrow to Maria Ressa of the Philippines Rappler company who is being threatened in a variety of ways by President Duarte

Looking forward to seeing George and Amal out and about!!!

i doubt George will be there as he is filming in Italy i think,

To be honest, not sure we'll get many pix as it's being held at an undisclosed address under heavy security.

George might be there as he has the option I think on Bill Browder's explosive book and has spent time with him

I read he is filming in London.

I'm not sure at all. It depends who they decide to let in and have already said only a small number of press. The previous recipient is now in jail in Russia

Amal is not receiving the award, she is presenting it.  Even though some of her outfits are out of the ordinary, I don't think anyone would kill her for wearing it or the Daily Mail for reporting on it.

I know, however regardless of the occasion the Daily Mail never cease to point out Amal's outfit.

I've just watched Amal's and Maria Ressa's speeches which are really impressive. Jamal Kashoggi's fiancee was also in the audience and was mentioned. And I have to admit that I needed to remind myself about Sergei Magnitsky although of course I knew about the so called 'Magnitsky Act'.

So, if anybody else is interested, the live stream still works, and Amal starts her speech after about 30 minutes.
