She advised him way back on his extradition or not to Sweden(since the Swedes would not come and interview him here) for suspected rape - and I believe this was a tongue in cheek legal remark to his situation.....

To my knowledge, a 29-page legal document is never tongue in cheek.......

Mm, I know, but remember she was his lawyer at the time along with Geoffrey Robertson who she would have consulted on all of this.....

It's entirely possible it was the start of the diplomatic negotiations to get him some of asylum.

Let us see if a'serious' paper picks it up.

Also think such a document would not go to a client without being sanctioned at higher level - and at that time she had arrived at Doughty prior to NYC and the Enron case

Fact is she was his lawyer and it was her job to advise him on how to negotiate his legal situation. Her advice might not seem entirely ethical to us, but she was offering him alternative ways to solve his legal problems. That was what she was hired to do. Obviously he didn't take her advice.

Just to be clear, the Swedish public prosecutor, Eva Finne decided there was no case to answer in 2012, and then the Swedish Police Authority decided that there might be a case for molestation, but were not prepared to interview him in London where he was also involved in the Wikileaks implications (unrelated)and his relationship to Edward Snowdon in Moscow and is wanted for extradition to the US....  for that part of the case, Assange is being represented by Jennifer Robinson of Doughty Street Chambers. The two women who were the accusers decided to withdraw their statements
