A tabloid claims George Clooney and Amal Clooney are headed for a divorce amid the human rights lawyer being pregnant and the actor planning to run for president. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. There’s no truth to any of it.
According to Star, the spouses of four years have come to the realization “they want different things” out of life. An alleged insider tells the outlet, “Word is spreading like wildfire that their marriage is very much on the rocks.” One of the issues, says the magazine, is that Amal has become obsessed with her celebrity status and “can’t get enough” of the spotlight.

“When George fell for Amal, she was this brainiac who cared more about world affairs than whatever was going on in Hollywood,” says the tabloid’s supposed source. “But since then, she’s done a total about-face and wants to be a star in her own right.” The questionable tipster adds that Amal’s newfound taste for fame is especially disappointing to George because he’s planning to run for president in 2020.
“He was relying on her experience with international politics to kick-start his run,” says the suspicious insider, “but she’s too busy building herself up.” The so-called “insider” goes on to say the couple, whose twins turn two in June, decided to have another baby to save their marriage, “but it may be too little, too late.”

“It wouldn’t look good for him to be in the midst of divorcing the expectant mother of his child while he’s on the campaign trail,” adds the seemingly phony source, who goes on say the actor is preparing “a splashy announcement” to reveal his run for the presidency. In order to salvage their relationship, “Amal would need to accept that she might be a political handbag for a few years,” adds the alleged tipster. “It’s going to be an uphill battle.”

Every aspect of the tabloid’s report is untrue. For starters, George dismissed the idea of running for president in a 2017 interview with Variety, telling the magazine that celebrities shouldn’t be president. When asked about Donald Trump’s presidency, the actor said, “I think that having a celebrity as president who has a star on Hollywood Boulevard will exorcise our need to have someone famous in office.”

In another interview, George was even more adamant about not having any political aspirations. “I’ve been asked that for almost 20 years now and the answer is just, no,” the actor stated. “Who would ever want to live like that?” George further noted he has “no interest” in being a politician but “every interest in being involved from the outside and trying to get things done that are important to me.”

Meanwhile, both the actor and the human rights lawyer have stated in separate interviews that they’re done having kids. Amal told the Hollywood Reporter in September 2017 she’s not having more children, adding, “I’m 39. I already had them quite late.” Shortly later, George told “Extra” in no uncertain terms that he’s “done at two.”

As for the couple’s marriage, there’s nothing to indicate it’s in trouble. In fact, there’s only evidence to the contrary. George and Amal just celebrated Easter in Ireland with the actor’s parents and his Irish relatives. Despite the publication’s report being completely baseless, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the situation, who confirms it’s entirely made-up.

To recap: Amal isn’t pregnant, George isn’t running for president and the couple isn’t divorcing. Gossip Cop busted Star last year for falsely claiming George and Amal were getting a “$1 billion divorce.” It didn’t happen then and it’s no more a reality now.
