He has been hobbling around following a scooter crash in Sardinia earlier this month.
And George Clooney proved he had bounced back from the terrifying incident as he joined his wife Amal and friends for dinner at Villa D'Este, in Lake Como, Italy, on Saturday. 
The couple appeared in good spirits as they walked hand-in-hand to the luxury hotel as they had animated conversations with their pals, which included Stella McCartney and her husband Alasdhair Willis.

She teamed the bold item of clothing with an oversized off-the-shoulder patterned silk shirt with a matching scarf choker.
Adding height to her tall frame, Amal wore a pair of nude heel sandals as she accessorised her look with a sparkly silver clutch bag.

The mother-of-two looked every inch the yummy mummy as she styled her raven locks into a voluminous blow-dried hairdo and added a slick of glamorous make-up, which included a subtle purple lipstick.
Meanwhile, George, 57, looked dapper in a grey suit with an unbuttoned white shirt underneath and black dress shoes.  
The Clooneys have decamped to Sardinia and Italy for the summer as the actor currently films new TV series Catch 22.

The Hulu hosted series is based on the story of artful dodger Yossarian - a U.S. Air Force bombardier in World War II who is livid at the fact that thousands are trying to kill him, however, the real problem happens to be his own army.
On July 10, a source told MailOnline that George was on his way to the set of Catch 22 when a man in his sixties hit Clooney's scooter with his Mercedes.
George, who was wearing a helmet, reportedly hit his head on the windshield, which shattered on impact.

Clooney was then taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors treated him for injuries to the pelvis, hip, and knees.
'George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at home and will be fine,' a PR rep told PEOPLE.
Clooney's wife Amal was by his side at the hospital.
'The accident happened in a very tourist area, so at that time there was not much traffic,' MailOnline's source said.
'Those who saw it will have probably thought of a normal accident also because Clooney's scooter is a normal scooter, there are lots of them around.'

  If that's how rich people dress for dinner at a nice restaurant, I'm glad I'm poor! I've never seen such unflattering clothes on a group of women at one time. IMO the only one whose outfit enhances her looks is Grant's wife. Stella McCartney looks like she just rolled out of bed. And don't get me started on Amal! OMG! The men don't fare much better. From untucked shirts and sloppy casual to poor George, looking like everyone's papa. What a motley crew! I hope they had a good time.

I guess if the women get to look like 4 year olds who found their clothes in a dress-up box, the men have to get a pass for not putting any effort into what they're wearing. Sad.

George obviously felt well enough to go out , if he didn't i'm sure he wouldn't have gone. 
I think Amal and the other women tried to dress up  and wore what they liked. 
Here went to a Broadway show, Not many people  seem to care to put any
effort into going out and looking good.

Didn't your mom ever tell you that just because "everyone else is doing it" doesn't make it right or mean that you have to do it too? These people are constantly held up to us as style icons. Either they have no personal taste and are totally dependent on designers and stylists, or they really don't care how they look and just grabbed whatever was laying around...either way I think, considering where they were dining, most of them could have made more of an effort to look presentable. After all, if the people we're encouraged to emulate can't be bothered to look well put together, why should we? (And please don't tell me again that Amal has quirky taste! This "outfit" re-defines the word!)

Everyone has their own taste, I don't emulate anyone I know what I like and wear it. 

As I assume these women do as well. Just because you don't like something or wouldn't wear it doesn't mean it is wrong for them just for you.

They like it they wore it if they are happy with their choices good for them.

I think the guys need to get their acts together come on put on a jacket and shoes no sneakers.

I think George gets his dress sense from his dad. I have never seen Nick in blue jeans he is always well dressed even when casual nice shirt and slacks, blazer

It's Me - He's probably tired. I'm guessing he's still not 100% after the accident and may be having trouble sleeping. Also, he's been working and traveling from work to home where they're entertaining guests. Doesn't allow much time to rest.

Anemarie -Why do you think the guys have to get their acts together but the women don't? Because they're women and we can't ever say anything negative about women anymore? It isn't pc? Because it's Amal? The men may be too casually dressed, but IMO they still look more put-together than the women.

Lizzy you have your opinion and I have mine,  I think the women not just Amal looked better even if they weren't wearing what I would wear , I think they put in effort. 

I happen too like the way George is dressed , the others were too casual for my taste.

I think George is guided by what Amal chooses to wear and where they're going - I think I've only ever seen him in jeans at Villa d'Este once and that was when Amal was (relatively dressed down as well).

What the others wear is not dependent on him - and I've been to the place - and it's a real mix because obviously the customer is always right!

I'm guessing Stella McCartney's outfit is hugely expensive - but also extremely pratical for getting on and off a boat! Lysa Heslov looks elegant -as do her girls and so does Samantha Barry. But you can bet all the casual clothes were upmarket.......and cashmere or whatever

PAN - Annemarie and I will have to agree to disagree, as we often do when discussing Amal's wardrobe choices. I'm sure all of the women's outfits were very expensive. Unfortunately, IMO, several were extremely unflattering - ie the girl dressed up as a canary. (I'm keeping my full opinion of Amal's outfit to myself,)

I wonder if any of the outfits are by Stella McCartney.

Bless her, Amal never lets me down.... quirky and loving it, as only she can.... Say what you like she has bad taste running right through her like Brighton Rock...and doesn’t give a farthing what you me or Mohammed thinks about it. Good for her!!!

You were the one who said "I don't think we care".  

No person cares more about Amal's fashion, than Amal does.  

I do believe there will come a time, when nobody on earth is writing an opinion on what Amal is wearing.

Since his marriage to Amal. George has rarely been seen being smartly dressed in his spare/free time when going out to dine with Amal..I have had a look at some pics of G‘s at the time prior to or shortly after his marriage to Amal: at Laglio, NY, LA mostly in summer. There he appears to have put some more effort into looking well, casually and appropriately dressed for the occasion and the season. The suit he was wearing on his way out to dinner at Villa d‘Este on Saturday evening was no good choice in my opinion: nothing of a summer wear, too sober, the suit fabric too closely-woven, too warm for the season.
The question arises whether George may decide on his own what he should or would like to put on for a certain occasion or has he got to go A‘s way and wish preening for the paps attention
In one of the Saturday pics you may watch her dressed in that striking garment how she looks in the direction of the paps with the. precision of a snake fixing its victim while he never pays any attention to them.
Someone mentioned here George was looking like everybody‘s father. This is not due to his grey hair and beard but because of his sober suit and his way of walking when accompanying his wife: head
and body a bit forwardly bent, always serious. In the pics of Saturday he looks charged and tired and rather thin.
I do hope my comments do not cause any kind of revolt again as happened last week when commenting one of the topics that referred to G‘s accident.
That is why I would like to accentuate the aim of this blog, which is a platform to express one‘s own opinions, ideas, impression, thoughts, all being an expression of our upbreeding, education, training, character and common sense. Everyone should be allowed do so without having to be afraid of any ironical, sarcastic.or even miscrediting attacks on the side of some members of the blog community

Adriane _ I was the one who said George looked like everyone's papa because A)he looks tired and older than the others and B) he's more formally dressed. He might have been more comfortable in a lighter-weight suit, but IMO he is more appropriately dressed for the venue than the others.

We try not to be mean-spirited, but that doesn't mean that we wrap anyone in cotton-wool. You might, on occasion, find something offensive. Yep Lizlzy these are simply our opinions not facts none of us know George what he thinks or how he feels.
And honesly none of our opinions matter to George at all he is living his life the way he wants.
Those that do know him  are his wife his family and his friends.

PAN, do you really want me to give a dialog on every tacky and tasteless outfit Amal wears?  Just to be fair, I have consistently stated I love her business style and conservative looks.  Not only did I comment on the tacky and tasteless American Film Institute Awards outfit;  I commented on the beautiful burgundy dress Amal adorned at the London Gala days later.

I find your comment interesting. With deliberate intent I made no comment on what Amal is wearing in these pictures.

The truth is: if I don't ever see, read, or hear another comment on what Amal is wearing rather tacky/tasteless or refined/elegant that would be great.

Also, I can't speak for Starlove and Adriane, I'm doing wonderful.  As I've stated to Admin, Ladybugcngc is the ONLY user I.D. I use.  With NO HOLDS BARRED I've expressed in great detail my opinions on this blog.  I have no idea, why anyone would think I need more than one username .

It seems simple enough if you aren't interested in her fashion then simply ignore it.

Annemarie, I made that decision after I saw the title to this article.  I'm so over Amal with write-ups about her fashion, it's a very easy fix.

Amal is not a "new" rich person. She has always been well to do and privileged. If she exhibits less than good judgment in her choice of clothing it has nothing to do with being wealthy.

If it bothers me I ignore it don't read it and don't give an opinion why waste your time on something you don't like.

No I don't contradict myself , I know that opinions will always be given that is simply a fact of life some need to give one.

We all have different taste Amal wears what she likes and thinks looks good on her as we all do. Money has nothing to do with it. I don't think fashion needs to be taken that seriously, if you want to wear something wear it.
She knows when to just have fun with fashion and when to dress seriously  for her job .

Just to add one small point to this conversation: saying an outfit is ill-designed or unflattering is not a comment on the wearer's accomplishments as a human being. It is a comment on the designer's skill at convincing clients to wear their designs no matter how they look - and the client's willingness to trust the judgment of others over their own.

A famous (??) Int'l Barrister who will/can single-handedly save the world from all evil..  and she... and the client's willingness to trust the judgment of others over their own.

In terms of fashion she had me hooked early on in her relationship with George with the pink and purple shoes. The point of fashion with a capital F is to take risks, be bold and above all else have fun. I'm clapping :-)

I have to admit tacky and tasteless is at the height of todays fashion.

Oldweston, I agree to a point.... her pre-engagement funk was fun sassy and individual..( the shots of her in NY before the ring were great) Her  "hey- I got him to put a ring on it" attitude is less fun and more wtf couture.  JMO

I agree fashion should be fun and risky (and even risque) BUT... it should also be flattering. We spend hours choosing what to wear, how to do our hair and make-up because we want to look GOOD! I don't know anyone who says "That dress makes me look like a hippo's hind end, but I'm going to wear it because it's so quirky and fashion-forward"! Honestly! Just because someone thinks something up doesn't mean it should be seen in public.

We all put on things and think they look great , but I'm sure people looking  at us probably all have different opinions.

Style is a personal choice if the person likes it then that is what matters not what others think.

Fashion should be fun I think Amal and her family see it just that way it's not that serious. When she needs to dress
seriously for work she does it very well.
