I'm learning that it's not always a good idea to revisit much-loved films after a long time. Some of them haven't stood the test of time so well.  Anyone else find that too?

Katie - This might get you going: Scientists predict that as global warming continues the Maldives will sink underwater. I know they're planning different ways to solve the problem, but maybe you should make the most of the time you have left there before you have to buy a boat to get to work.

Seriously, I know Nasheed wanted to relocate people off the islands. Is the present government actually doing anything to solve the problem, or is it all on paper?

I was packing with my kids who will go to Italy on a school trip.
They will stay on the southern side of Lake Garda and are planning to visit Verona and a theme park and wil lalso do a trip on the lake.

I can't tell you how much I'd love to go with them (I had offered to help them but they are fine which is how it should be), I's sure they'll have a great time.

I hope for them all a great time here In Italy

Katie, here's how you procrastinate.

Google something you've been "meaning to look up." For research, of course.

See if you can transfer your music from your iPod to your android phone. (You can't.)

Watch YouTube videos on how to fix that thing in your house that you refuse to pay someone to fix.

Go to Google Play movies and watch trailers of the movies you haven't seen.

Clip and file your nails.

Update your Netflix list.

Clear the storage space/unused apps from your phone.

E-mail somebody who has nothing better to do than read it and answer you.

...... or Katie, just make yourself a couple of Casamigos on the rocks, sit back and watch some old George flicks ... while you clip and file your nails!

How fun for your kids Carol.   Though you are right that they will be fine without you I would have desperately tried some clever way to get in on that trip!    The lakes in Northern Italy are so beautiful .... from pics I’ve seen.  Wish I could say I’ve been there.   I read an article in ‘The Washington Post’ travel section last week written by a daughter who took her mom on a vacation to Lake Como.  It sounded so wonderful.  I have to say when I saw the headline (‘Como? Allora!’) I thought how far do I get into the article before I see George’s name mentioned.  Actually he showed up in the second paragraph and also in a caption right under a photo of the mom on a boat looking for directions to George’s villa.  Hopefully I may be that mom sooner than later.  Ha!

unfortunately I'm not going to Italy with my kids' class . I tried to hide myself on the coach, but they didn't want me to join them.

They just left, meaning that my husband will have lot of time on our own (I had tried to convince him that we should have some days off as well, but unfortunately it's too expensive, and since we'll be very busy next week, I guess that it's the usual hurry inbetween work and meetings...).

But a family trip to Tuscany (including Venice) is something I'm planning for October 2019 and really hope that we'll manage to do it...
