Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
Yeah, not so reliable. The twins were born 6-6-17, NOT 5-17! Or, were they??????

George Clooney and wife Amal are reportedly planning to renew their vows on their third wedding anniversary.
The Hollywood couple tied the knot in Venice in September 2014, surrounded by close friends including Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and Bono.
Last month (May17), the pair became parents for the first time to twins Alexander and Ella, who George, 56, and Amal apparently want to include in their upcoming anniversary celebrations.
“(Amal) and George are even planning a welcome party for the twins on their third wedding anniversary, when they will also be renewing their vows in front of close family and friends,” an insider told Britain’s Closer magazine, also noting that the human rights lawyer is considering scaling back her workload in order to be around more for the tots.
“Amal’s had a change of heart about being a working mum. She’s made a vow to George that she’ll take an extended leave of maternity, plus pull out of dangerous cases and take on lower-profile work for a while. She wants to be home as much as possible for the babies.”
The Money Monster actor and his spouse are said to be fitting into parenthood perfectly, with 39-year-old Amal apparently overwhelmed by how naturally being a mother is coming to her.
George’s close friend Rande Gerber, whom he founded tequila brand Casamigos with in 2012, recently gave an insight into their family home in England after he and supermodel wife Cindy Crawford visited.
"I did see the babies, Cindy and I went to London and went to the house and spent some time with them," he told Entertainment Tonight last month (May17). "The kids are the perfect mix of George and Amal. I mean, they really are so cute!"

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
It is lovely and a really romantic idea. Just no way of knowing if it's true. It's not encouraging that the story got the date of the births wrong. Too many stories of late with unsubstantiated claims by insiders or someone close to them says .....

Nope I don't see it happening as for a welcoming party who makes this stuff up.
I agree Donnamarie if they got the dates wrong the rest is probably wrong as well.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
When I read the story, I had the same feeling. I thought about not posting it but then thought: "Why not let everybody decide on his/her own if he/she believes it?"
Yesterday I read a headline by an Austrian website about them heading for divorce and decided not to post it - simply because it was just one website reporting it and was also too lazy to translate it. On the other hand, the story of George and Amal leaving the UK due to fear of terror, continues to spread. And this also seems to be based on a report by one website.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
A couple of queries.
Is this a wind-up to get a Gossipcop denial to start another story that the marriage is 'breaking up'?
Another ceremony after less than three years? Aren't they a bit busy?

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
These sites use George's name to get readers a lie sells.
If they can't come up with their own story they will grab on to one already made up and embelish it.
This is what keeps gossip cop in business the lies.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
There are so many stories written about them and the babies, and that had happened before as well. The only ones I really trust are the interviews Nick and Baria did after the twins were born, all the others name a 'close source' or a 'friend'. I know journalists don't have to name their sources - which for me makes sense when it comes to investigative journalism (just imagine a 'deep throat' informant at the White House at the moment), but not when we talk gossips. So I personally am suspicious when an article names a 'close source' and uses a vocabulary like 'might', 'could' or 'reportedly'.
So there's no way to know which stories may contain at least 1 % of truth...

@PAN "is this a wind up" is exactly what I said when it was expressed that the wedding was to be a flotilla on the Grand Canal Venice.....right up to a few months ago I was still saying it when Amal showcased the slimline 6 month pregnancy profile.....
Yep, in my experience here, it's a goer.....

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
Oh Lord, I hope this is bullshit from start to finish. My personal experience with people who NEED to tell the world how happy they are as a couple are the ones who'll fail. Remember Heidi Klum and Seal who made a huge song and dance about renewing their vows every year, right up to the year they split?
Wouldn't surprise me if they have an anniversary party because, why not? But not a renewal ceremony. Not after only three years. After maybe a decade or more, I like the idea of a re-commitment ceremony but one shouldn't be needed this early on in the relationship. JMO of course.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
Maybe this time he'll get to invite all the people he wanted at the wedding but "couldn't find room for" - his friends. It has always bothered me that there were people he had to un-invite because they didn't have room. He's got enough money that they could have chosen a larger venue and invited everyone they wanted. - Of course I could be way off base and things may have been done exactly the way George wanted them. If that's the case, maybe he isn't quite the man I thought.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
From what I remember reading they both decided to have a small wedding. Amals mom wanted a big one and had the reception for all their friends and familys.
I don't see George wanting to do another wedding he had enough of the last one.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
I wasn't aware that George and Amal had to uninvite anyone from their wedding. Neither said as much. George has soooo many friends from his years in Hollywood and his humanitarian work. I would think it was hard for him to decide who to include. Like Annemarie said Amal's family had a followup celebration back in the U.K. for extended friends and family. As with most wedding planning you want to aim for a number of guests that fits the kind of event you want to have.
Bottom line as with most of the stories that have come out in the last couple of months (and there seems to be many) this is just another unsubstantiated one. I don't believe it's true. But if it was I wouldn't criticize them. They would have their personal reasons for doing as much.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
I also didn't know he had to un-invite his friends from the wedding (although at that point I'd started tuning out of his doings anyway).
I'd assume that with his money, he could have had any size wedding that he wanted so if it was small (if one can call a flotilla parade down the main Venice canals small) I'd think it would have been what he wanted.

Thank you for posting what I've been yelling since seeing the first "gazing into each others eyes" photo 3 years ago. Who would release that info ( if it is true) of what should be a private family event? Unless you're looking for publicity.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
What in the world would they say?
"Honey, it's been, what, three years now, and I'll be damned, but I still love you."
"Me, too. Let's keep going."
???
And yes, Katiedot, the HeidiK/Seal marriage came to mind immediately.
If anyone ever has to declare repeatedly how rich, smart, or in love they are, they're not.

Re: George and Amal plan to renew their vows
Whenever I think of someone going over the top to prove how in love they are the first image that pops into my mind is Tom Cruise hopping all over that couch like a frog on acid! Heidi Klum and Seal run a close second.
