He's basically saying that helping the less fortunate is an unrealistic view ascribed to by the Hollywood elite because they live in a bubble of privilege. Stars like George mean well, but they're wrong. The way to help the masses, he says, is to help big business and let them trickle down whatever they see fit to the rest of us.
He also says he and George never called each other assholes, and he never called Obama one either. George just had too much tequila and is a good storyteller.

I think Wynn's comments are very misplaced. This Hollywood elite he talks about is made up of many different kinds of people from many backgrounds. They don't all change once they come to Hollywood. There are no doubt celebrities who have that privileged attitude. But I think Wynn's description is a stereotype. Many came up the hard way and many certainly do understand that life is not handed to them on a silver platter. George came from very modest beginnings. He along with many other successful actors, directors, etc. worked hard to achieve their success, some have run businesses themselves. Being in the entertainment industry is a business just like any other business entity these days. It could be argued that the business millionaire and billionaire class live in a bubble of their own making too ... if Wynn's perspective is so right.

Nobody of us knows what really happened and why. I agree with Donna, it's a very stereotyped thinking by Wynn to say that every successful Hollywood guy thinks, believes and acts the same way.
And for me it's a very sad thought to say that you can't help less privileged people. To be honest - he sounds like Trump. Is he one of his supporters?
To conclude, this sounds like namedropping, Wynn warms up an old story to get headlines. Does it really interest anybody years later? To speak for myself: This story didn't interest me when it was first reported - I guess it was before the wedding - and it doesn't interest me now.

That is a brilliant viewpoint! And so true.Donnamarie wrote:It could be argued that the business millionaire and billionaire class live in a bubble of their own making too ... if Wynn's perspective is so right.
Given that 'trickle down' economics has been shown not to be terribly effective, you'd think this terribly intelligent businessman would have another solution other than making rich people even richer in the hope that they'll spend some of that wealth on poorer people.
Anyway, before we go wildly off topic, yes to using George Clooney's name to get some attention to what is a complete non-story.
