George Clooney’s next door neighbor held his own fundraiser — to benefit Bernie Sanders — during the actor’s posh Hollywood soiree Saturday night with Hillary Clinton.


Howard Gold, whose family founded the 99 Cents Only store chain, called his bash the “99% Party,” with tickets selling for $27 per person. 
An email invite sent to Sanders supporters Saturday reads: “Swimming pools, Movie Stars, and merriment for all! This is happening right next door to Clooney's party for Hillary!"
The invite also notes that "no-one (will be) turned away for a lack of funds."
Hollywood’s power brokers, meanwhile, have spent weeks selling high-dollar tickets, starting at $33,400 per person, to the Clooney event in Studio City. Co-hosts include Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw and Haim and Cheryl Saban. 
Gold's event turned into a pool party, pro-Sanders event and Clinton protest. As Clinton's motorcade arrived on the street headed to the Clooneys,' protesters showered her car with $1 bills.

Hillary won with 57.61% Trump with 63.28% . Let's hope that Bernie's followers vote for Hillary I don't see trump not getting the nomination.

Yep Annemarie. Was really pleased Hillary won by such a large margin last night. I think it will be really interesting to see if Sanders changes his tone and aggressive attacks that he took on over the last week against her. He cannot win the nomination now so how does he want to spread his message without harming the Democratic Party's efforts to get Hillary elected.

Donnamarie - I'm not sure Bernie cares too much about the Democratic party. He may not endorse Hillary. I'm not sure his followers would listen to him if he did. - more likely a lot of them just won't vote.

Lizzy you may be right. He will show his true colors when he gets back on the campaign trail. If he fails to respect the fact that her nomination is inevitable it will be interesting to see on the Democratic Party reacts. And I wonder if Elizabeth Warren will take a stand at that point in making an endorsement? She is certainly well respected with the progressive wing of the party.

Hillary may not get the votes from Bernie's followers, but she will probably pick up a lot of votes from Republicans who would rather vote for her than Trump. Maybe that will make up for the loss.
