Thanks, PAN. Well, at least now we know where he is - or at least was last night!

Katie - Maybe you should invite them over to your house. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun and the food sounds fantastic! It sounds a lot better than the catered meal they'll probably have, since we all know Amal doesn't cook and I doubt George will deep fry a turkey for Christmas like he does for Thanksgiving.

The Gerber's are already in Cabo, so maybe George is going for the wet Christmas instead of the sunny Christmas?
And, should the title be changed as that lady's tweet was dated 12-20-15.

If he and Amal stay in England for Christmas it really breaks with George's long held holiday tradition. Will they spend New Year's there as well? It kind of feeds into the rumors that Amal and Cindy don't get along all that well. I wonder if he's still trying to sell his half of the Cabo compound?

Mm, I wondered if it had been sold already or a sale was in the pipeline.
As for those rumours, it's all a bit sad if that's the case.
If they are in the UK for Christmas that wouldn't be at all surprising. It would their first Christmas in their new home, and this is where they went on honeymoon too.
And it seems to me that he's been quite happy to change his life in all sorts of ways quite recently!
Still think Cabo will be for the New Year celebrations.........

Re: George Clooney and Amal Clooney at the Mill at Sonning 23 Dec 2015
That's exactly what I thought:
Sonning for Christmas and Cabo for New Year.
There were so many rumours about them that I wouldn't care for any of them. George was willing to change his life quite drastically so why shouldn't they have decided to have a quiet Christmas and then meet up with their friends? Or stay in Sonning and just enjoy spending some private time together in their new home?

I don't think there is any animosity between Amal and Cindy the press have to try and create drama. Cindy recently said that they enjoy being all together at home hanging out.
I think they could just have all their families come to England for xmas, the Clooneys go to Mexico so why not England.

So glad he's spending time with Nick and Nina while he can. They both look wonderful, but they are getting old enough that George must realise his time with them is limited. (I know I sound morbid, but really, you can never have enough time with those you love.) I hope they all have a wonderful holiday season - no matter where they end up!

Re: George Clooney and Amal Clooney at the Mill at Sonning 23 Dec 2015
I think that Nick and Nina will feel very at home in Sonning - and love the Mill.
The village will probably feel very similar to Augusta to them. It has the same sort of community feel and the river runs through it so you can walk along the towpath to the church - or the pub!
And if they had had dinner before the performance the menu's very Christmassy!
Here's another cast tweet:

Re: George Clooney and Amal Clooney at the Mill at Sonning 23 Dec 2015
Yeah, happy holidays to the lovely couple and all that, but personally I think George needs the change of routine and company. He's a bit off his game, and he needs to regroup and recharge. I think time away from the Hollywood element that treks to Cabo, and opting for family in quiet Sonning, may be good for him. I would think he's licking his wounds a bit ('Tomorrowland,' '...Crisis') and keeping a low profile so that he's fresh news when it's time for his next project.
But, yes, good to be with the family and new wife in the new home.

I don't think you sound morbid. My parents are in their seventies and I'm very aware of the fact that our time is limited. I mean, I know how many of their friends and classmates have already passed away, and my mother-in-law who's the youngest of our parents, passed away in May. And George's parents are older than my parents so I'm sure he knoes that their time is limited...
And PAN, I've been to a few dinner theaters in Britain about 25 years ago (my 'English mom' organized trips for theatre goers at that time). I've always enjoyed it, it was just terrific! We didn't have anything similar in Germany and for me it was just great! I loved the special atmosphere at these old theatres and the combination of dinner and theatre. I don't remember to which theatres we went since there are quute a few in the South of England but maybe I even was in Sonning.

Re: George Clooney and Amal Clooney at the Mill at Sonning 23 Dec 2015
Thanks PAN for all the latest George news from Sonning. How nice that Nick and Nina can be there too. I'm sure they will have a wonderful time. Quite a change from Christmas in Cabo. I like it. I could see them going to Cabo for New Years too but who knows. They might be content to stay in their new home for a while. They are probably still getting settled in with decorating and putting everything in its place.
As much as George can work across the pond on upcoming projects he will probably be happy to stay put and like Way2 said take time to recharge. Change of scenery can certainly do that ....

The Mill is a great place to spend an evening.
The Waterwheel bar is exactly what it says. It has glass walls so that you can see the full workings of the wheel - and the book club is held there. Very civilised! And the pink Prosecco is great!
I went there to see a production about eighteeen months ago, and to be honest I don't know of too many other dinner theatres in the UK. I think they're pretty rare now.
