Listen, sitting down with George Clooney is no hardship. Over coffee on Friday we talked all things Tomorrowland with the star, but something was very different — mainly that platinum band on his left ring finger. So eight months in, how is married life treating the former bachelor?

“We’re finished, apparently,” Clooney deadpans. “I just saw that on a magazine. We’re battling for divorce. We had a good run!” But really, “it’s fun,” he says. “We’re having a really good time.”

Where will he and his smart, funny wife live?

“We’re redoing a house that we bought (outside London), it was built in the late 1600s in a little town,” Clooney says. “It will be done by the end of the summer and we’ll be in it. And we’ll sort of go back and forth between L.A.”

Although he and Amal are hounded no matter where they go (strolls in Central Park were a no-go during their recent stay in New York), in their new house, “we’re 40 miles from London,” he says.

“It’s very different. And the town has been so welcoming to us. There’s a pub that we walk to — we walk through a graveyard to go to this pub. It’s fantastic. We’re on an island and the only other thing on this island with us is a dinner theater. So I have work later in life — doing a one-man show of 12 Angry Men.”

Calling Amy Schumer! Oh yes, Clooney saw Schumer’s shot-for-shot parody of the classic 1957 Sidney Lumet film.

“First of all, that piece was so brilliantly done,” he says. “She’s just fantastic. She’s a real bright light on the scene right now.”
