George Talks to Deadline About Sony, 12-18-14

Well, I think it would be hilarious, and a conciliatory way to end the nonsense, if George got up for his Cecill B. DeMille (sp?) award acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, whipped out the petition and told the audience to circulate it.

Hahahahaha Way2 that would be payback in such a satisfying way. Wouldn't it? The studios would probably not see the humor in it. I'm sure they just want this story to fade away quickly. I wonder what Amy and Tina are going to say about all of this. And you know they are going to say something. They could spend their whole opening monologue on the hacking/email/what petition? story

It would be amazing.
I ,like Donnamarie, think that Amy and Tina will say something about the petitions.
Maybe they will circulate it trough the audience.
But I'm also sure the Gerote will say something about it, If not on the stage, at least non the red carpet.

I'm not so sure George wants to keep this going. I have a feeling someone in his camp screwed up on getting the petition out to the studios, but didn't let him know before he spoke to Deadline. Tina and Amy will probably bring it up at the Globes, but I think George might just want it to go away.

Lizzy I agree with you 100% on this one. 

I think it would be a funny way to put a stop to it and not leave any bad feelings. "Okay, you say I didn't circulate it and I say you wouldn't sign it. We're all here now, so..." If George can laugh at himself, so can everyone else. He's the only one on the record, and the only one not throwing anyone else under a bus. Everybody gets a good laugh and then moves on.

Anyway... the few people I know who watched The Interview said it sucked. But that's the way it always is. You go to the freedom of speech mat for Hustler magazine articles, not Joan Didion essays.

Sad but true! And look where it's got us.

As far as the petition issue is concerned, I don't think it's to anyone's benefit to keep it going. Whatever happened, it got all fucked up and everyone looks bad. If Amy and Tina bring it up, and if George (and everyone else) can just laugh it off, fine. Somehow, though, I don't think the bad feelings this created are going to go away that soon. No one likes being called a liar.

I think George gets already ready for the joke and is exercising his laugh about the joke
