Just as dreamy in cartoon form! David Beckham and George Clooney get an animated makeover in the latest episode of Hot In Cleveland
The ladies of Hot In Cleveland get to date their ideal men in the latest episode of the TV Land sitcom.
Unfortunately, however, it's only in 2D that the cast get to meet their dream guys, which include dashing cartoon versions of George Clooney and David Beckham.
In the special episode, which aired on Wednesday night, the gang meet a magical genie in the form of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, who grants them three wishes.

Dream come true: Hot In Cleveland got an animated makeover on Wednesday night's episode with the girls getting to create their ideal men (L-R) Victoria (Wendie Malick) chose George Clooney while Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) dreamed up President Lincoln and Joy, played by Jane Leeves, picked David Beckham
When the girls ask for men who hunger and drool over them, Tyler first sends them some zombies.
The girls get a second chance though and head to Elka's (played by Betty White) basement to create their perfect men, which for Victoria (Wendie Malick) is Clooney and for Joy (Jane Leeves) is Beckham clad in his fetching white football kit.
The ladies are seen making a toast as they perch on the laps of their Franken-men, however, they soon bore of their guys and come back to confront Tyler about his terrible wishes.

As well as dreaming up their ideal matches - which also included Robert Redford for Elka and President Lincoln for Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) - the gang visit a Willy Wonka style beauty parlor after asking for eternal youth and beauty.
Embarking on a psychedelic romp through pop-culture hits including the Walking Dead and the classic Willy Wonka story, the gang also explore what life in Cleveland would have been like if LeBron James had ever left.

Cheers! The girls look very happy with their creations and toast with wine as they perch on their Franken-men's laps
The episode, aptly named The Animated Episode was directed by Freddy Cristy. Animator Mat Kerman explained to The Wrap: 'We had the storyboard artists and the writers sit in a room that way the storyboard artists got to hear what the writers were thinking…
'when you've got the story boards done you cut them together in whats called an animatic-which is still drawings with the recorded dialogue'

In the flesh: David Beckham and George Clooney would be on the wish-list for many women around the world
Wendie Malick said: 'We are suddenly going to go from live action to complete animation the moment we walk through a special door'
The show, in it's fifth season, centres on three women from Los Angeles who move to Cleveland, Ohio after tiring of the shallow and youth-obsessed culture in their California homeland. While there they lease a home with a sassy caretaker, played by White.
Hot In Cleveland is currently seen around the world in 211 countries, and will begin airing in syndication through CBS Television Distribution in September 2014.

Director Freddy Cristy walks us through the technical side of the animated episode airing Wednesday
“Hot in Cleveland” is getting animated on an upcoming episode.
Directed by Freddy Cristy, the episode will feature the leading ladies, Elka (Betty White), Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli), Joy (Jane Leeves) and Victoria (Wendie Malick), as they travel around the world.
And TheWrap has an exclusive behind the scenes look at the sitcom's efforts in the art of animation. In the video, director and animator, Mat Kerman, explains the components that go into the animation process.
“We had the storyboard artists and the writers sit in a room that way the storyboard artists got to hear what the writers were thinking…when you've got the story boards done you cut them together in whats called an animatic-which is still drawings with the recorded dialogue.”
After completing the character designs and finalizing the storyboard, the animating can begin. Kerman gives a preview of how intricate the characters’ movements and actions need to be in correspondence with actors voices. From facial emotion, eye blinks, and subtle movements an animator needs to focus on how to get the cartoon-acting correct.
“It's all how are the girls feeling,” Cristy said.
“We are suddenly going to go from live action to complete animation the moment we walk through a special door,” said Malick.

The “Hot in Cleveland” animated episode airs Wednesday at 10/9c on TV Land.

Lincoln is in it too. I've read a bit about the character traits of A.L. You can say G.C. is a reincarnation of A.L. Spooky !
