George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como
Found on frenchies
Now George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como ahead of wedding of the year... after Amal visits Italian villa with her mother
Last week Amal Alamuddin and her mother were seen in Lake Como to visit George Clooney’s Italian villa in what it is thought was the actor’s first meeting with his future mother-in-law.
And on Monday the star’s parents were also spotted in the picturesque location, where it is believed the couple will marry in September.
Although Amal’s journalist mother Baria is said to have headed home on Tuesday after one night, she may have met his parents on the trip too, as it is unclear when they arrived.

Proud parents: George Clooney's father Nick and mother Nina were spotted in Lake Como on Monday
The happy couple could have called their families to Lake Como to help them scout potential wedding venues.
George’s mother Nina, a former beauty queen and councilwoman, and former anchorman and game show host father Nick, were spotted visiting the luxurious Hotel Bellagio.
They couldn’t have looked more pleased for their Hollywood heartthrob son’s future as they giggled away on a boat ride to the resort.

Over the moon: The former anchorman and beauty queen couldn't have looked happier for their son
Nina has previously expressed her fondness for her future daughter-in-law, who she has met several times, saying: ‘You can say I’m extremely happy. Amal’s a lovely girl. I like her very much.’
Nick, who turned 80 this year, will be celebrating his 55th wedding anniversary with Nina, 74, in August.
According to Life&Style George and Amal have been busy trying to find the perfect spot in Lake Como to exchange vows.

Getting to know you: Amal's mother Baria was seen in Lake Como last week. It's unclear when George's parents arrived but they may have been there at the same time as Baria
‘They checked out Hotel Villa D’Este at Cernobbio, which is famous for organizing high-profile weddings,’ a source told the publication. ‘They also had a romantic dinner for two there.’
But the 53-year-old Gravity star may well tie the knot with the 36-year-old at his own home.
Laws have been put in place by the Lake Como mayor to guarantee George’s privacy at his £25million mansion, and are in operation 24 hours a day until September 30.
Pedestrians are banned from stopping on the road outside the 30-bedroom property, while anyone caught swimming within 100 metres of it will be fined up to £450.

Re: George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como
This article is wrong on so many levels........
Hotel Bellaggio is a two star boutique hotel in Bellaggio, and one of many......not exactly a wedding venue. Now if they'd said Villa D'Este...........
I think his parents have provided a very useful distraction. Wonder who the other couple is.........
I'm willing to bet His Nibs is in London

Don't these reporters research at all? Wouldn't take much to find it was not the first time mom met George.

Another thing to note - Nina Clooney's got different tops on in the pix - two separate occasions? Or following them around Bellaggio over several hours, or days?

Re: George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como
Just a bit of trivia.
I don't think the lady sitting next to Nick in the boat is Nina. She's sitting opposite Nick in the boat in the pretty pink top. So I believe they were taken on the same day.
Just wrong photo comments with each picture, by someone who doesn't know The Clooney Couple !

That's what I though too Jo. I think it is not Nina in picture 1, 5 and 7 the woman next to Nick. Her hair seems to be longer too. Nina is sitting across from Nick picture 4. I think the other woman belongs to the man with them. Nick has the same shirt on so must be the same occasion.

I would find that statement utterly insulting, are you insinuating they are on the same level?
Or did I miss when Nina Clooney lost the power of speech and hearing.
I wish I could have an interesting conversation with Baria (who?).
I feel sure Nick has met ppl just as interesting, if not MORE.

Wow. How long have you been waiting to jump on somebody? You must have gotten impatient. There was absolutely nothing insulting in that comment, and the only thing it insinuates is that Nick Clooney and Baria Alamuddin might have some differences in world view that would make for lively discussion.
Get a grip.

Re: George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como
No, I don't think I did get it wrong. I think the insinuation was, that of ALL the ppl there (and we don't know who is there) Baria might find at least someone her equal. After all she was the last woman to interview Indira Gandhi! (What a claim to fame that is, at some stage everyone gives their last interview). She makes the most and "bigs up" anything that comes her way. I hope her daughter doesn't follow suit. Ooops AA who is part of the junior team, on many hi-profile cases.
Sorry, but Baria's role boarders on what many see as self promotion. Re; image in the above article.
As for below WAY, I think NOT only Nick.

Re: George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como
Actually you are wrong and given that I am the one that wrote the comment I think its safe to say that I would know what I meant better than you would. You can interpret it in any negative way you want but it was a simple comment that there would probably be interesting conversation between two journalists who have very different world and political views. I could see them getting into some very heavy debates over a few glasses of vino. Equality has nothing to do with my comment at all.Alisonfan wrote:No, I don't think I did get it wrong. regarding the photo of George and Amal shown here at the engagement party...if you got to Mail on line ( I'm still too stupid to move a lot of stuff!!) there is a quick video of them coming into the party. At best he looks totally pissed.

Re: George Clooney's parents jet into Lake Como
I think he may well have been pissed....Because of the cameras waiting outside.
But Amal had a resigned smile IMO.
From memory, George & Amal certainly looked very happy and relaxed in all of the snatched photos of them outside of the bar/restaurant chatting with their friends.

I think a lot of the photos particularly of George looked quite strained at times, perhaps as they knew the paps were outside snapping away, but then again, choose somewhere more private to celebrate if you don't want the scrutiny.
