Ah yes, history re-invented.
George, 53, wooed Amal after meeting her last September – so the wedding will fall on their one year anniversary, which is Sept. 12. I don't think George would remember the birthday of any of his girlfriends.

Not bad! Wouldn't be at all surprised......
The Hotel Mir Amin Palace, a former residence of the last Emirs of Lebanon in the 19th century is one of Beiteddine’s historical landmarks. Beit ed-Dine is a small Lebanese town in the Chouf District, approx. 50 km southeast of Beirut and near the town of Deir el-Qamar from which it is separated by a steep valley. The town is famous for its magnificent Beiteddine Palace which hosts the Beiteddine Festival every summer.
Local emir Bashir Chehab II who was later appointed to rule Mount Lebanon, started building the palace in 1788 at the site of the Druze hermitage (hence the town's name, translating as "House of Faith"). It took about 30 years to complete. The best craftsmen from Damascus and Aleppo as well as Italian architects were invited and given much freedom, so its style is a cross between traditional Arab and Italian baroque.
After 1840, when Bashir was sent into exile the palace was used by the Ottomans as a government building, during the French Mandate its role was preserved and it served as a local administrative office. In 1934, it was declared a national monument. In 1943, Bechara El Khoury, the first Lebanese president, declared it the official president's summer residence. During the Lebanese civil war it was heavily damaged. After 1984, when fighting in the area receded, Walid Jumblatt ordered its restoration. Parts of the palace are today open to the public while the rest is still the president's summer residence.
Bashir built three more palaces in the town for his sons, till today only Mir Amin Palace survived and is today a luxury hotel.
IN FEW WORDS, GEORGE AND AMAL ARE GETTING MARRIED IN A HOLY SITE OF THE DRUZE which Amal is. It is very considerate of him to do so.
The Chouf Mountains (also spelled Shouf, Shuf or Chuf) is where the Lebanon Cedar forests are and it is DRUZE country:

I think very few women would consider this a "tribute"-- more like a slap in the face.

I cannot see George doing this on EC's birthday, that is something she has to live with the rest of her life. It won't matter if she meets her one and only it will still cut deep.

well i suppose with the amount of woman he says he has slept with to get a date that doesnt coincide with one of their birthdays is going to be a bit difficult and alot of explaning to Amal

Frankly, do you think George remembers the birthdays of his exes? Nor for a minute, even when dating he probably had an assistant to just remind him of that. He probably doesn't even remember his own birthday if it weren't for his friends making a big fuss about it. Remember when for his 50th Elisabetta announced this elaborated birthday party that she wanted to give in his honor? He wouldn't hear of it, and he finally won, birthday came and went, no festivities, just a dinner with his buddies.

I'm not saying he would remember all their birthdays, but someone that he went with for two years not that long ago, someone would remind him. He would not want all the hassle that would go with getting married on that date, people would tear him apart. A lot of the ladies he did not last with long, and the last time I checked the list it was no where near 365 names. So they'll find one.
