Game on! George Clooney relaxes with a volleyball match while holidaying in Mexico


He’s a Hollywood actor who evidently works hard to stay in shape.
And George Clooney showed that he keeps active even while on holiday, as he enjoyed a game of volleyball in Cabo, Mexico, on Friday.
The star, 52, who was barefoot and clad in blue shorts and a grey T-shirt, took part in a game with a group of friends.

The star’s latest love, human rights barrister Amal Alamuddin, 36, appeared to be absent.
The couple recently enjoyed a holiday together in Tanzania, where they were spotted enjoying a safari, and the Seychelles.

Rumours about them first surfaced when they were spotted together in London last October.

Keeping active: The actor showed his passion for sports as he took part in a game with friends

Amal is a lawyer who specialises in international law and human rights, currently representing WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in his fight against extradition to Sweden.
In February, Amal accompanied George to a White House screening of his film, Monuments Men, where onlookers described them as being 'very much together.'
The actor recently starred in The Monuments Men, a film that highlights the little-known exploits of a band of curators, academics, art historians and architects who risked their lives in order to rescue priceless works of art during World War II.

The actor and producers is also believed to be in talks to remake Norwegian diving movie Pioneer.
It is not clear if Clooney will star in the film, which follows a team of brave divers in the North Sea.
The movie star and director is developing the project through his production company Smokehouse Pictures, The Guardian reports.
The original 2013 hit film, directed by Erik Skjoldbjaerg, follows 24 men who damaged their health diving 400 metres underwater to secure Norway's oil and gas fortune 40 years ago.
The men battled for compensation after claiming that they were not given the necessary information about the potential risks of the work they were carrying out.

But George seems not to play volleyball very seriously as he's just wandering with his iphone and cap in one hand.

Volleyball with this ball?

I saw that too lelacorb---maybe he was playing football with his friends then saw the volleyball net--don't think he was actually playing....I also agree with Mel that it is a photo op....I am curious as to why but not too much as it is nice to see new photos....

Why would you think this is a photo-op? I think it is a member of the paparazzi media with a long angle lense.

No, you're right....and I think he's hoping to be left alone now. Impressive when you think that Amal was in Cabo at Christmas, and all those folks like Jimmy Kimmel, Jennifer Aniston, Howard Stern etc etc were all at his New Year's Eve party............we only know what we're supposed to know sometimes.............

If this photo shows authentically his right foot, I'd say it has feet like my grandfather, a little puffy!

It may be true that George is in love with Amal but when I was in love with someone, every spare moment I was gone to him ... that he'd flown to London instead ..... boh! Scuse me, only for speak!

Telephoto lenses can take pictures from several miles away. So this might not have been a "photo-op" but just photos from a photographer that they couldn't even see.

Btw, I think it's unfair to George to suggest it was a photo op. I've seen pics of the Dempsey family on that same lawn back when they stayed with Cindy and family in Cabo some time back, and they weren't even aware of the paps

There is a photo of Amal in a gold top that suggests it is Cabo by the setting. I hate to burst your bubble mel01 but GC does do these staged photos at times....I think this must be a spot on the resort property that the photogs use with the blessings of the resort and people who go there....sort of quid pro quo for celebrities so that the won't be harassed during their vacation.

Totally agree, SG, and if you look at that pic, that's definitely Jimmy Kimmel in the foreground slightly the worse for wear!

Was just thinking the same thing. Not a single photo of them actually playing? Did the photographer(s) suddenly forget how to take pictures?

I think it's a photo op. In other words, the paparazzi was invited to come and take these pictures. It's too hard to believe that totally by coincidence on the one day of his holiday that the paparazzi came passing by George just happened to be wearing his promotional casamigos t-shirt.

They didn't seem to play volleyball (maybe no one wants to be photographed in awkward positions or getting sweaty), just milled around a bit and then went for a drink at the bar. How long do we think this whole scenario took? 15 minutes?
