I think it's the bad lighting - they all look plastic in that second photo.

Speaking of which, does anyone think his tan suddenly appeared when he was in New York? He doesn't look nearly as orange in these shots as he does in the NY pictures.

Good observation Katie. Indeed, his face was completely orange in NY, but just before landing - not.

For what its worth, from my experience of editing pictures of George, one can change his skin tone from pasty white to bright orange, at the click of a button !

I'd image it's a tad over use of the tone feature in the NY pictures.
