WWHS - Great advice! Growing up one of the first things I was taught was to listen to that inner voice, that gut feeling, that tells you something is "off". It can save your life.

Malaysian Airlines say the missing plane crashed in the southern Indian Ocean.  Terrible news, which, oddly, the airline decided to share with the relatives of the passengers by text message.

I know I was a bit upset by the news of the text messages. I understand they wanted to tell the families before the press conference but they should have just called them in and told them in person....so sad....

" Malesian airlines say…". Yes, sad. Now we have satellite pics, plane itself is still missing, but I guess this is the disclosure. Maybe in coming weeks they´ll be able to locate actual remains of the plane.

Text message part was unthoughtful. Not only because you get boarding, confirmations, delays and other info about your flight usually via texts. But it has happened so...

Hunger.... Talk to the Eejit above doing the kicking, why spend money on bread when you can get an ground to air missile.

I totally agree with you!  Well done, not everyone see's it.

Yes being a "Human being" is not all it's cracked up to be, and never will be.  As long as we remain the same as we are things have NO chance of changing  too many ppl making money out of it, (as you know IM, I look, I see, I don't make assumptions)...so fighting and hunger will go on, and maybe closer to home than we would be comfortable with.

My only hope, other than a second coming (? just a hope) is technology, that it will advance us into a "NEW Human Being" or maybe a virus that render's mankind "greedless and loving" .... It is seriously my only hope......as things are there is no hope, just same old, same old....JMEO

I've just been catching up after a short trip to see
the sea.

wwhs.....I've had many "listen to your gut" experiences....but I always say "a little voice told me"

I do hear a voice in my head, which most times
I don't ignore.
Sometimes I have ignored it and then looked back and realised it was a mistake as something negative has happened.
I've often thought that it could be someone who has passed away who gives these messages to us which we interpret as a "gut feeling."
It's all very interesting.

yes you are spot on, it’s just my opinion but I believe they are two very different things. Gut is internal, no external interference. However, the clear thought in your head can often, as you say come as advice/whatever from someone close but passed. I think both can be trained up by anyone.

What hacks me off, with all due respect to research venture's going on.... Why no serious research here?

It appears we are always in  “firefighting” mode, and missing the bigger picture,  what might be the only solution.

So we go to the Moon, but no further. God forbid    we let the Government or some official state body get behind and seriously research.

We all hope, and many believe there is more, but no research ..... bizarre.

There might be research going on somewhere, government sponsored, if so let me know.

WWHS- There is research going on, and places that train people to develop their instincts. They call it ESP or psychic abilities, but it comes down to the same thing - exploring our connection to our senses and the universe around us - the whole New Age philosophy. It isn't all government funded - I know of one town in Florida where people with all kinds of "psychic" talents go to be trained. I'm sure there are many more scattered around - you just have to search them out.

Talking about gut feelings and "psychic talents" I worked with a lady once who knew she had psychic talents from a very early age.
She told us of a couple of amazing experiences she'd had which confirmed it.
But it frightened her and she destroyed the talent by smoking and drinking alcohol. Not to excess, just in a normal every day way. But she knew that to keep her talent alive she didn't have to "pollute" her body in that way.
It opened up discussions regarding whether we all had that "psychic talent" but it got lost with our life style.

Sometimes I think too we would have more talent to show if we would not be so busy with our all day life style.....Sometimes we are too busy to pay attention to our own skills.....

That's not what i'm talking about, yes personal psychic things I know a bit about and have been to London's College of Psychic studies (near Natural History Museum) a few times.

When I was there in 90's it was fascinating. Many of the older teachers are no longer there, so I don't know how good it is these days.... But if in London pop in they have a library, so kind of expect ppl to breeze in and out.

What I meant was no Goverment will put a programme together - like the space programme - to investigate where we go.... I am 100% sure we end up somewhere!
WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHERE, AND APPEAR TO BE SCARED TO LOOK. Scared on two fronts 1) It might be scary  2) we might appear scary if we voice this.  I know, my gut is telling me, half the ppl reading this are saying "Looper Alert". I don't think a Country would be considered "advanced" if it announced a programme to investigate "where DO we depart to, and why".

Individuals or groups (sects  ) can do little or nothing, it has to be a Goverment.... and COHer's will say "Well good luck with that Looper" and I don't blame them one bit.  Such is life, and what we term death.

WWHS - I don't think governments would get involved with what you're talking about - at least not publicly. The medical profession, though, does seem to be getting more interested in it. Doctors have patients who wake from comas or have near-death experiences and talk about what they've seen, and the doctors become curious. There are a couple who have even written books about it.

So maybe the research you're hoping for will come from the medical profession or the field of neuroscience. No "looper alert" here. We're all curious about what comes next.

Yes, until one religion claimed that for themselves and then we'd be in a war that would make every war so far look like a children's squabble in a play pen.

@Katie - I think most religions have already claimed they know what comes next, but they have no proof. Wouldn't it be great if we really did find out - and they were all wrong - or even better, if they wre all right! Now that would really put the cat among the pigeons!  

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of! Religions aren't generally known for cooperating peacefully amongst each other (this, oddly, despite all that 'love others' stuff they pretty much all have as a leading ethos), so I'd hate to think what would happen if any or many religions were actually proved right. And let's not even consider what happens to the religions who got it wrong.

Although, let's say if some obscure tribe in Papua New Guinea got it right and we'd all have to convert then I think new mandatory things like head hunting would make the Olympics a whole lot more interesting to watch!
