Brad Pitt was certainly livening up the Oxfordshire countryside as he rolled onto set on Monday.

The actor was on location to film his new World War II movie, Fury, and the 49-year-old looked like he was throwing himself into the action.

Joining his co-star Shia LaBeouf on a tank on Monday, the actors were dressed in mud-splattered combat gear.

The film centres around a group of American soldiers who, at the end of the war, have one more mission to complete. Brad plays the tank crew's lead commander, and Shia is one of his team.

To get into character for the role, Brad and Shia recently spent two days in the forest without mobile phones and they even had to forage for their own food. The exercise was to get them thinking like war comrades - now that's what we call method acting!
